    RIP Mickey Rooney (September 23, 1920 - April 6, 2014), aged 93
    And
    RIP Robin Williams (July 21, 1951 - August 11, 2014), aged 63
    You both will always be remembered as legends.

    The 'love interest' is a docent for the museum. A 'docent' is a guide (usually on a volunteer basis) who provides exhibit tours to inform/educate the visiting public.

    The funniest scene in the whole movie was when the little guys had to let the air out of the tires, and I wish you included that part in the reaction.

      It's an hour long edit which is incredibly generous, obviously not everything can be in here. Something has to be saved for the Patreon cut otherwise there's no incentive for people to pay.

    Robin Williams IS in the other two movies. And his ending speech in the third one is so iconic, that sound byte is even gotten popular on TikTok, such a good motivator.

    What I really love about this movie is the character interactions. Roosevelt's romance with Sacagawea, Jedediah and Octavius' constant arguing and eventual friendship, Dexter constantly trolling Larry, It's all just so well written and in the case of the latter two, hilarious.

      I mean it got two theatrical sequels which is more than some films can say. It was pretty appreciated for its time, but I agree it's not quite recognized as the classic it truly is.

    I love this movie! This came out when I was 11 and it’s such a nostalgic movie from my childhood. And because I was on the younger side, this is what I knew Robin Williams for at the time- not for Good Will Hunting, not for Aladdin or Jumanji (there were parts in those movies that freaked me when I was younger), but for these movies. Obviously I watched his other movies when I got older, but this is what I remember his fondly for ☺️.
    Also, the experiences of the miniatures and then jumping to the cuts of what people really see (which is usually nothing) is one of the most hilarious gags I’ve seen. Makes me laugh a lot every time!

  • @cowzilla8
    @cowzilla8 Рік тому +64

    The RC car probably became a real miniature car because it was left inside the museum when Larry's son turned the middle piece of the tablet over, making everything in the museum come to life.

    I forgot Rami Malek was in this ! He played an Egyptian in the last Twilight too, as well as the lead in Mr Robot that FailWhale reacted to a couple years back ! It's a great sci-fi series you'd love, JV, whether you watched it for your channel, or on your own time. Cheers!

    40:20 Yes, he is real. His family make the tablet to keep them together alive forever, but the tablet works on the others in museum too. It was never really explained, but its logical that the others in the museum are like "robots". They doesn´t have a soul, but they have feelings, memories of the actual historical characters.

    This is one of my favorite movies!
    The wax characters know their stories and history, but obviously their wax, so Teddy says he didn't do them himself, doesn't mean he can't do good things there too same as Larry.

    @kurtrichter5500 Рік тому +2

    I just realized the quote by TFR at 39:15 "I'm made of wax Larry, what are you made of?" is literally the name of a Day to Remember song. If this isn't where they got the name for that song, then I'm dumbfounded.

    With the RC car, I think the ‘everything comes to life at night’ thing also means everything becomes ‘real’ for the night- I think the second movie backs that speculation up a lot more though, spoilers: in the air and space museum, for example the model fighter jets flying around and then the actual jet engines/ships/aircraft there too

      Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was just reading off of what google gives you right on the home page and not iMDb or tmdb. If you google "Night at the museum cast" it gives you _everyone_, across all movies - which is not ideal and I already submitted a report on that to google.

    Your reactions are so genuine and honest I can't help it that your commentary/reactions make me cry EVEN MORE!!!! And I have the 3 movies; and watch them pretty often. And when you and Jane are together (because I'm not used to seeing/witnessing married couples [I mean and MAN and his WIFE] get along so well... llike, y'all "fit" together so well, that I break down. I haven't had that expreince and don't know with any certainty that I will (at 64yrs). But it's always a breath of the "air" of that dream for/to me.

    Ben Stiller is one of my favorite actors of all time, and Robin Williams is in my top 5. I think Ben Stiller does more producing these days than acting. If you haven't seen it I recommend Heavyweights (1995), it's a really good kids movie from the pre-internet era, and Ben Stiller has a different kind of role than usual for him, but he's still knocks it out of the park.

    20:10 WOW she has GROWN! Been a while since I saw her pop in on a video. :)
    My son does his own from time to time, but occasionally my cat will pop up in the background of one of mine.
    For Night at the Museum, these will always have a special place for me. Especially the first. I must have seen it 20 times when my son was a kid. Have your kids been introduced to any of the younger-audience films you have been Reacting to?
    The high-rotation films for my son were this, Cars, Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer, Monsters University....so many more. Now that he is 17 I told him we will have to revisit some of those that we haven't seen in almost 10 years AND that HE will need to watch them 6 times in one weekend like I had to for HIM back in the day. :)

      ooh, Windows ME (Millennium Edition)
      They pushed that 98 kernal too far (from what I recall)
      Went 95, 98, 98se, ME, XP, and I think XP SP3 was the final before moving on to how 200/NT were built.
      Vista was between XP and 7, and it was better than ME but not much.
      By the time they released 7 they seemed to do better.
      8 was...interesting, and could have been a good idea of MS kept up with it. The idea that with Windows 8 and Windows Phone, you could sync your entire experience across all platforms (especially in enterprise for corporations). But they seemed to kind of drop the ball and then just jump to Windows 10, which has been working fine for me.
      THAT was a RAMBLE!! :P

    The RC car could be driven and blew up like a real car because it became real. It has a toy steering wheel that must have become functional. They don’t really show inanimate, non-organic related items being made real much in this movie yet one other example is while the explosion was tiny, as it itself surely was, the dynamite did indeed explode.
