- In today's episode of farming life at La Forge, we are cutting silage. We will be finishing our first 2 clamps of silage here on the main farm. With fields the other side of the main road, it will be my first time driving a trailer on a road with cars, but thankfuly it all went okay.
Big Big thank you to everybody for 15000 subscribers !!
No matter what tractor your driving you owe a debt of gratitude to Harry Ferguson

Yes getting the hang of this tractor driving, slowly but surely 😊 thanks take care
Driving down hill with any vehicle, use your engine as a brake, not keeping on breaking with the brakes (overheat the brakes on constant use). Slow down in time by down gearing in time, and back off on the power.
Yes you bang on there because you will have no brakes when you might need them most and your going be in the right gear alot of the time to pick up speed again
Wise words, Can't be said often enough
Yes, this is what dad and luke were showing me before hand
The brakes are inside the axles, inside the oil, so they do not overheat like a normal brake pad and disc / drum setup.
Great job Laura, super driving!!! Great to have that much done!!👏👏🌞🌞🌞 I can't believe Declan Gardiner trusted someone else to roll the pits!!!! 🙈 But you can't be in 2 places at once! Someone would surely block the harvester!!
Thank you 😊 No actually, it's almost always Luke who roll's the pits when he's here
Another great video, lovely weather
Yes very hot for this time of year! Thanks 😊

Can't believe I'm watching an Irish man loading silage to the correct side with the chopper 😉
Only cause he's in France and he's gotten a custom to driving on wrong side of the road.......
Haha the controls are on the right so it makes more sense 🤷
Shame he was filling from the back to the front of the trailer
@@KiwiJim13 well if he was filling front first, then I wouldn't be able to see when to move forward or back to fill it probably
👍🇮🇪😀
I'm going through the world 🌎 😪 in your area is a very
Great video, great driving, what is the price of diesel for the tractors at the minute in France ?, do ye have agri diesel , Iam sure ye do ,
I grew up with new Holland trailed harvesters have you not got all the blades in it to increase the chop length? We used to run a full set with only 90 horse power
Well done Laura good driving brings back memories of silage we used to draw in
Thanks 👍
Had yee waited till this week to do the silage, you have put the call out for the Leinster giys to help cover the pitt after the rugby match.
Haha could have done, but the weather waits for no man
Do you miss Ireland
Are you required famer??
2 clamps down. Will that be enough to get you through the winter, or will you make more clamps with the 2nd or 3rd cuts?
Maybe a clamp on the 2nd farm, after that it will be all wrapped bales
Why do you have so many tyres?
Great video , Declen should invest in a JF 900 it would be far superior to that old Holland
That old new Holland is doing the job 👌😊
😀👍🇮🇪👍💗
Great video laura
Thanks 😊
Hi Laura - grear video as usual. Are you still making your clocks and if so, will you do commissions ?
Hi James, yes I'm still making clocks. What did you have in mind?
@@FarmingLifeatLaForge was thinking an MF Combine but am unsure what format pic would be most suitable and convenient for you.
That's quite a skill you have by the way and at the risk of being cheeky, you're also beautiful 😍
What type of plastic are ye using.brown?
Yes it's brown plastic
hello
I'm 25 from co Clare can job with your crew
You did a good job Laura what breed are your dogs?👀🖒
Thanks 👍 the dog in the tractor with me is Lexie, she's an Australian Kelpie
@@FarmingLifeatLaForge ok she looks more like a huntaway
And the big dog?
@@KiwiJim13 so we have 2 Kelpies, Paco is a blue heeler and Jessie the big dog is a Leonberg
@@FarmingLifeatLaForge How do you find the blue healer? The Leonberg is French breed?
@@KiwiJim13 blue heelers are a very very loyal dog, constantly at your heels and is strong minded and very smart. Leonberg os a German breed I believe
is that double chop?
No its precision
@@FarmingLifeatLaForge what's percision chop
@@patrickkelly4070 it doesn't cut it, it pucks it up and chops it really fine
