@@HighDiver5555 There will guaranteed be 3 races / 6 factions available to play. A 4th race (presumably split into 2 factions) is AFAIK unconfirmed, and certainly won't be there on launch. Im a Sins veteran but this video was still information overload, folks completely new to this game I feel like will see this and have their eyes glaze over. The lack of context building (probably due to Stardock telling you to hit talking points) makes this quite a lot to follow. On that point, I was EXTREMELY devestated that Sins 2, something Ive been waiting for ever since the first game when we still had to hack more RAM into the game from 2GB to a "massive" 4GB, was announced as an Epic Games exclusive (huuuuge mistake, fuck that spyware), Im SO GLAD its now on Steam.
I agree with your take about information overload... However! Last game had a great compain-style narrative tutorial that taught you mostly everything you need to know. I'm glad that they made upgrades to the systems yet they still feel familiar. What worries me more is final balance. On the other hand, there is a common misconception about epic's "exclusives". Most of the time it gives a developer much needed time and money to iron out their game essentially turning Epic release into an open Betta program. And it also gives a potential player ability to see a real game state for a half/full year before it's steam release. Win win for everyone.
@@007stareye Yeah, gotta agree. I have 0 problems if a dev takes epic's money, cooks for an extra year or two as an exclusive, then releases an even better game on steam.
I understand the Epic Exclusive stuff tho, as far as I know it gives you 88% of the games money instead of 70% like Steam does, so having an early access game on Epic is definitely a lot better for devs

Hi, Montu. Have you thought about making a video about Nanites in Stellaris? They were reworked in a new patch, nanite battleships were added. Right now I'm getting a huge number of free battleships, but I didn't have enough skill for unity rush on machine intelligence, so I ascended late. I played for the machine intelligence because there is a good civic for astro-mining stations. I also started with arc welders to increase the number of nanites, and also got Cybrex mining stations. I would like to see your design of these nanite battleships, because I'm still new to the game. (It is written using auto-translation, I hope everything is correct)
If you want garrisons to be more effective, have them stay on defensive or hold position until there's a good number of them. Then switch to attack. They'll jump as a group and act as an independent fleet. This is far more effective than sending them as they're built.
I was playing this last night. I cannot wait to see the mods that people make for this. Im super excited about the full conversion mods and the ones that add new factions. I usually run the maelstrom mod but i think the halo and star wars mods will shin with the new details they can do with the new engine
Loyalist TEC is the faction i aways play with, twin fortress is just magnificent, the economy can snowball really quickly too, go TEC and Hard difficulty is not that hard, Impossible difficulty, now that is a challenge, and do diplo, it is OP as hell

OMFG Yaas! When did Montu start doing Sins of a Solar Empire content? *Furiously starts combing through old Montu content* I'm excited to see what you have to share with the world on Sins!
I am extremely excited for Sins of a Solar Empire 2, I wasted hours and hours fighting impossible AIs in free for all and TDM. Once I got bored, I tried mods like Sins of the Prophets, Star Trek, and Star Wars, and Sins of the Prophets was by far the most fun, forcing you to adapt to the changes to the basics of the game as Humanity. My only concern with Sins 2 is the art style, Sins 1 was more gritty and realitic, especially with the TEC ships and stations looking entirely utilitarian. Sins 2's TEC looks a lot more cartoony, and while we haven't had a good look at the Advent or Vasari in the trailer, I hope they don't get the same simplistic overhaul to their looks.
I wish they'd already announce the release date. I know it's "Summer 2024" or Q3 (which also could be September) but I need precise numbers dammit! Game looks great.
There is a LOT that looks familiar with Sins 2. I'm eager to see what is different and improved with the game aside from graphics. Thanks for the video to showcase what there is.
One thing you might not see here is that the factions are actually different, like the Vasari don't use money at all (except to interact with factions) and just rely on iron and crystal for their ships and buildings
A lot of the menu art, like the research pictures and the leader profile pics give me AI "art" vibes.... something about the saturation/lighting? I dunno...

What it's on steam finally!?! Why on earth did they wait so long? This is a amazing game I can't wait for the full game to be done and advent get added and modding!
The Vasari are reworked, they don't need money anymore. Also the research system is completely reworked, your research centers now boost speed and you need other buildings to unlock tech. Also the planets orbit (partially in different directions) and with that the hyperlanes change between planets, so you have to consider where to col9nize or your colony will be in the middle of the enemy in a couple minutes. Also the graphics are completely overhauled, so guns actually move. The combat is also reworked, with shields and armor recharging in bursts. Generally the armor is completely reworked and works completely differently, but is too complex to explain here. So except maybe the very outer frame, there really isn't much similar to Sins rebellion

Hi, game looks really great. But I cannot help being a bit disappointed. Even though the story was a only 1 minute exposition, with some images in the first game. I would have hoped that it would be expanded upon. Instead of tutorials, why not a campaign to learn to play and a chance to give some exposition on the state of the universe. An introducution to the powerfull race the Vasari are running from, would have been awesome as well. Maybe the nice factions of each race work together to fend of an invasion in some asychronous warfare. And/Or a 'Galactic map' to give individual games more meaning. I know this might sound strange, but I feel the game doesn't really give me a reason to play it by not expanding on the lore.
Im gonna be brutally honest. SIns 2 looks.... fine. But not good. It appears they just remade the same game in an updated engine, with a new UI. However the UI just seems very bland compared to the first one, it has none of the charm and personality that it used to have. I like that the ships look a lot nicer and more detailed now though. They also just reused the OST and voicelines as well as far as I could hear.
Titans are still a thing in Sins 2? Titans are not balanced, its too much of a one sided fight once you get rid of enemies titan, or lose yours. I know in the Sins 1 expansion that added titans and such there was a mod that removed them and the little swarm ships. Once the Titans were removed, the game was balanced, more enjoyable, and actually fun then. Since Titans are in Sins 2, I have lost all interest.
