    Thanks coach, this is something that I will most definitely use. I really was thinking about adding some free kick situations into my practice and these ideas will definitely help. Also this is perfect because in my league they don't allow a direct kick yet, so I needed something like this.

    Can you do a video in which you record yourself introducing your formation to the team for the first time and how you help your team get used to their zones and your tactics?
    I implemented your system for the first time this year and I’m seeing progress but I’d like to see how you do it.
    Your videos are so helpful! Thank you!

      Sure. Let me think about how that would go but will definitely try to bring it more back to basics etc

    Great video, as always! There's a lot to learn about 7v7 on your channel. I hope you will have time to also make more videos about 9v9.

    Coach, thank you so much for the videos and advice. Is there any possible way to do an Offside Trap in 7v7?

      Does your league play with a build out line? Some league allow offsides before the build out line. Only calling it after your team has crossed it. Basically I would just tell your CB to hold a high line right around the build out line.
      This isn’t done much mainly because of the age of the players.

    Coach this is awesome break down. Do you have breakdowns for 11 v 11?

    • @CoachRorySoccer

      Working on more 11v11 content. This channel has traditionally focused on younger age groups but there are plans to expand it to 11v11 content as well.

    Hello Rory
    Great tutorial as always
    Given your experience, do you have any advice on best formation and play for 5 a side team - U8. Thanks

      Keeper? If so I’d play it like Futsal 1-2-1-1.

    • @Bootsystem66
      @Bootsystem66 Рік тому

      Thanks. I'm starting them on 1-2-1 without the keeper. Trying to mimick your 2-3-1 formation but using 1defensive mid and 2 full back/MF and a striker?

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  Рік тому

      @@Bootsystem66 yeah if there is no keeper you could just play a diamond with one in the middle. Should be a good primer on spacing etc

    As always, great tutorial. I can’t help but feel I’m looking at Marty from Ozark! My team has gotten to the point where technical abilities are preventing them from accomplishing their tactical knowledge. My Q is, what channels do you follow or recommend players watch at home? Do you recommend a specific app? My team is a ‘13 Girls with a wide range of abilities. Thank you.

      I have heard the Jason Bateman comparisons before!
      I send out two pieces of technical homework each week. The first is always "Wall Ball". Nothing develops touch and feel better. It seems simple, just have to make sure they are receiving the ball off the wall. The younger kids just smash balls into a wall which is not the purpose.
      ua-cam.com/video/Jw3bumN_HhU/v-deo.html
      The second is a move/turn that I pick from this website:

      @@CoachRorySoccer Thanks for the suggestions! The first link looks awesome. The second link is spot-on on why I asked. The first video only had 767 views so I would’ve never found it. Since it’s on a webpage, it help control what they see as well. One thing I’ve worried is that after watching the assigned video, they’d doom scroll five videos on “Best trick moves to beat a defender” type of video and teach them bad habits or make them only want to practice the fancy stuff.

    What do you recommend for defending free kicks? Do you have your players form a wall? Or just defend man to man?

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  Рік тому

      Man to man. Goal side. That about it at this age. Wall is + or - depending on area of the field your on.

    Good afternoon coach, just wanted to know if you had advice on how to finish a game, I have had a few games that were winning but end up losing at the end. How do you keep the kids motivated or a good strategy to keep the head in the game.

    • @CoachRorySoccer
      @CoachRorySoccer  Рік тому +2

      That can be tough. Especially the age. Had a game this weekend up 2-0 felt pretty good about it and ended up 2-2. I think it’s more important in older teams U12 and up on teaching how to Lee leads etc (not taking unnecessary risks). At my younger ages I teach them to keep playing. And if they make a mistake so be it!

      @@CoachRorySoccer ok thanks coach. That's what I do most of the time but I just hate to see how bad they feel about being ahead and then losing or tying a game. Thought maybe there's something I could do or teach
