Hua Hin is a great place for a more relaxed lifestyle and imparticular, a retired lifestyle in Thailand. Friendly locals, relaxed vibe and a feeling of contentment by many, including the many shop, cafe and restaurant owners/workers. Very popular with Scandinavians, which I feel is positive as they're generally a great bunch.
If I wasn't leaning Jomtien because it's smaller, and closer to Bangkok, I'd retire in Hua Hin. But I love visiting it, is has a better night market, and not too much traffic
Hi George, nice channel, very informative. I'm currently in BKK but watching a lot of videos lately about different places in Thailand, looking for the best option to move to. Hua Hin seems a very good candidate for my need. Do you think it's a good place even if I don't want to drive? Are there buses or any affordable alternatives to regular taxis? Or is it small enough to just walk around and use some Grab/taxi? I know I'm gonnna miss BTS/MRT :)
You can use the Songtaos, motorbike taxis and grab. But if I lived there I would 100% get a motorbike/ scooter for traveling about. Some places quite far from each other. Thanks for watching 👍
@@georgenewmaninthailand2495 Seems manageable. Unfortunately there are a number of downsides about driving here that I'm not comfortable with. Starting with my European license, which is not officially accepted, and my insurance, which would not cover potential accidents. Thank you anyways

Always hear ppl talk about western food, xpat area, English...I wonder why ppl would move to Asia if they are so dependant on the ways of the west. The food is better in S.E. Asia, along with everything else. Why did these ppl move there? 👍🇹🇭🥢
Some people want there own comfort but live in a tropical paradise. In the UK loads of people go and live in Spain in huge expat areas like Benidorm each to their own I reakon 👍
You have a valid point and for me my time in Thailand is a complete change from the west, I absorb myself into Thai culture, food etc and love it. But for me I want and need the huge contrast, many others don't, so I guess it's each to their own.

You can find a 1 bedroom condo around 1200 THB that is across from the beach, with a swimming pool and a gym. I love it here! Nice video!
I always wear a helmet and I get pulled over lots except in Hua Hin, not even once.
Bangkok the worst they pulled me over loads

Yeh popular choice either Hua Hin or Jomtiem 👍I’ve done a few other videos on both these places check them out. I think I prefer Hua Hin Personally 🇹🇭

We are going to Hua Hin for 2 months in Sept and october 2023 can u recommand a condo for rent with a pool close to city center and the beach please
Too expensive there , I live in Jomtien, 7500 nice condo with gym and large pool, retail and bars in the complex , 800 meters to the beach .
