I can't even count the number of disappointments I had with women. So, in my case, it is utter failure. I have given up a long time ago and inevitably learned the skill to be happy being alone. I spent some time in Hua Hin. One night on the nightlife street a Thai guy was dragging his Thai girlfriend along aggressively, he then started to physically assault her. She started screaming and no one would intervene as the guy was bout 30 and build like a tank. He dragged her into some entrance to an apartment opposite where I was having a beer and listening to music, and she let out a horrible scream. I'm like 49 and passed this sort of stuff, though over 100kg and some basic boxing; so, I thought I would try and help the young lass. Oh dear; I told the Thai guy to leave the lady alone and then he went for me. I was shocked as though this guy was shorter than me, he threw me against the wall like a rag doll and started to chock me. Shit what have I got myself into I thought! He tried to ground me but fortunately I managed to stay on my feet and then he lined up a clenched fist, I too responded with a clenched fist, and prayed to my Lord for help! Fortunately, God answered my prayer, and this guy dropped his fist and pushed me out of his entrance area. The local police turned up and I dearly wanted this guy charged for assaulting this young lady and for his attack on me. This guy was apparently known to the local cops and at the police station he was bowing, and they were showing him respect. End of story they didn't charge him with anything only asking him to pay a small fee for assault on me. I said I wanted him charged and asked for the tourist police address. They said they didn't know where it was. Turned out it was very nearby. I don't know if true, but I was told the thug was most likely local Thai crim and protected. But I don't know. All I know is if you have a problem don't expect the Thai police to help you. While Hua Hin is a nice place, if things go bad for you; wrong place, wrong time, don't expect justice. I went to the tourist police the following day to complain, and while they were very nice, they explained that as the local police was involved first, they couldn't do anything to assist. I have never been back to Hua Hin!

Mr. Blogger, Don't Compare Philippines to Thailand. Bec. you are so bias. No problem if you choose to Thailand as your home, Philippines don't need you. You don't even mention the important factors being a travellers. You know only few factors that Thailand has; these are the good of Thailand: 01. Food 02. Culture which more (Buddhism ). But Language is very poor bec. Int'l language is english, you can not say go to Bangkok bec. there are some there. It must be everywhere in general, in the Philippines english is 2nd. Language. In terms of safety. We are not referring to troubles alone, sex is included bec. foreigners can be victim of severe sickness bec. Sex is rampant in Thailand, commercial sex is everywhere. Beach only few places in Thailand; But in the Philippines are plenty and Sandbars and so white the beach. In terms attractions; Manila was awarded for 2 consecutive years 2023 & 2024 Worlds Best Cities. And there are lots of 7 wonders of the world and nature, Like; Bohol Chocolate Hills, Cebu Cañoneerind, Swim with millions of Sardines Swim with Whale Shark in Oslob, Cebu. Adventure the Mountain at Osmena's peak in Cebu, Wind Surfing in Siargao, Dive at Palawan sea And No. 1 in Beauty Contests, all of Int'l Beauty contest, we have winners. Enternments; Philippines is no.1 Christmas and New Year Celebrations No. 1 of good singers in the World, no.1 the most beautiful Miss Universe. Philippines is the best for retired foreiners can live like King. Very cheap, easy visa, people super friendly and have heart to help, easy to communicate with, filipina a loving and faithful wife. Watch out, someday; "Philippines will be the best Choice of Tourists all over the word." Bec. PHILIPPINES is amazing and unique ❤😊.

You are required to bank 800,000 baht in a Thai bank and keep it there for a one year visa. If Thailand joins the Brics your country will not transfer money except Bricks members. You are required to buy health insurance of 3 million baht. It is a big chore for a one years visa that may or not be extended in the future.

I like your idea of keeping oneself busy in some productive activity. Just curious, what low-risk business a foreigner can start with an investment of US$100,000 in Thailand? Also, will it be safe to start a new business from the ground up or purchase an existing business already in operation? I have experience in owning and managing gas stations and grocery stores but no experience in managing restaurants. However, I am not planning ro retire in Thailand to be working seven days a week managing my business. I prefer to be a passive investor making money from my investment. Will appreciate your suggestions. Thank you.

Personally, I don’t understand this idea of “retiring” in a foreign country unless you are married to a local. I mean, how exactly are you making this country a better place for the people who live there? Is it simply because it’s cheap there? If that is the case, why not just live in a tent in your own country? I seriously don’t think that the locals like the idea of “well-off” foreigners living in their country sitting around getting daily massages and telling everyone how it’s great and cheap there while they are struggling to make ends meet.

I'm planning to retire in Thailand early. I just can't live in America, I think I will have shorter life span if I don't move away from America. The water we consume has high fluoride and I keep having headaches. When I was vacationing 30 days in Thailand, I rarely get headache. What do ya'll think? You just feel the difference living aboard. Thai does not use chemicals for drinking water. I mainly drink a lot of coconut juices I think it's good for my health. I can't wait to retire!!!!! I'm looking at a land to buy 1 rai for 300,000 baht about 30mins to airport. That's my goal.

Well in the U.K. a work visa requires you to have a minimum salary of £38,700 a year and for other long stay visas to get get you over the minimum threshold without a lot of questions interviews and other obstacles £120 a day for every day of your stay. This all stems from populist politics blaming others for political failure. It’s no different in the U.K. as it is in Thailand or America or anywhere else where there’s an opportunity for a better life regardless of what form it takes.

I am a very experienced investment analyst, healthcare expert and former retirement adviser who has lived in and has experienced hospitals in Thailand. The #1 consideration for countries to retire: HOW GOOD IS THE ADVANCED MEDICAL CARE? Thailand medical is okay for routine checkups and minor procedures, but scores poorly in terms of survival rates with respect to chronic disease and emergency treatment compared to rates in advanced nations. When you're older, you should be most concerned with two things: HEALTH & MONEY. HEALTH: Thailand hospitals do not perform well with chronic disease care and emergency care due to high dependence in these treatment areas on high-tech and advanced training. There is no hospital in Thailand that has a comprehensive cancer treatment center. And traffic does not yield to ambulances. Imagine having a medical emergency and waiting on an ambulance in Thailand to arrive. Forget it. Moreover, Thailand scores poorly in public safety (safe walkways, road safety, construction safety, etc.). Why is public safety so important? Consider the fact that a simple accident (broken hip) can send you to the hospital when you're older and many deaths occur due to hospital acquired infections. This is particularly the outcome of hip fractures. To the gentleman who made this video. the reality is that you should expect your life expectancy to be reduced by several years as a result of issues with medical care alone. MONEY: I find it ironic how all of these vloggers focus on cost of living as the main draw to retiring in Thailand when the facts are #1: Thailand living costs are rising rapidly. I was just in Bangkok and spent $5,000 over 2 weeks. I did not party. Bangkok costs are now quite high. Even costs in Chiang Mai are climbing quite fast. But the main point is this. If you are scraping the bottom of the barrel with your budget, the LAST thing you'd want to do is move to a country that lacks a social safety net because you also have no family there or anyone else you can count on if something happens. If you are from the west and you are just getting by, you will qualify for various welfare programs. AND, hospitals cannot legally refuse service regardless of your ability to pay. In Thailand, if you cannot prove you can pay they will transfer you to a gov hospital (if you're lucky). Start thinking smarter people.

I agree HH is boring. And yes, Thai xenophobia is not something vloggers ever want to discuss. It's a huge problem. Thais are very polite. But they really don't like foreigners. You'll see it in the smaller cities like HH and CM. Not so much in BKK.

@ I saw and experienced it in bkk all the time. Udon Thani was the worse for me though.

@@jerryG-p3w Xenophobia, especially towards westerners is a part of Thai culture. This is something these vloggers don't seem to realize. It's pretty easy to understand why you'll never see a Thai in a video with any of these vloggers UNLESS there's something in it for the Thai (usually money). The amount of relevant info about Thailand from YT is close to 0 as far as I'm concerned. All they talk about is cost of living (usually inaccurate), how it's paradise (total BS), etc. Nothing remotely negative. None of them even realize Grab is controlled by the Thai taxi mafia. Makes me sick how none of them ever tell the full picture about Thailand.

@ even making videos showing the truth will get suppressed and or your channel is banned. Don’t even try and talk bad about the PI. Your comments, channel, and subscribers will be deleted and your channel not pushed out to people. If you talk good though then they will make sure your channel is going through the roof. Total BS. Paints this fantasy picture that doesn’t exist. The good thing the more people that go there the more people will be disappointed like myself and tell the truth and then they can’t deny anything.
