I get what you are saying about durability. I am still driving a 2002 Golf. Still love it. My mum previously had a 2003 one from new which she had 18 years before parting ways. Never wanted anything apart from tyres, wipers, brakes and a few coil packs. Unfortunately think as cars have become more complex they also have become more unreliable..
