When I first heard this, I immediately listened to every version I could. How could something so beautiful be hidden from everyone for so long? Not many recordings and none that make the piece come to life as Vikingur does. This is truly amazing. Thank you so much!
Imaginative use of the texture of the modern piano to play these baroque pieces written for the harpsichord. Very nicely done. Bravo! The pianist’s technique and control are entirely used in the service of the music. Bravo again!
Love the piece very much I listen to it many time a day I m trying to learn to play but not able to find the music sheets if anyone don’t mind to advise how to get it Thanks much
There’s an Italian edition: Baldassare Galuppi, Le opere strumentali, Seria prima: Musica per Tastiera, Volume 7, A cura di Alvise De Piero, Armelin Musica - Padova, ISBN 979-0-2158-2013-5. The sonata is listed there as sonata XIII in Fa minore (R.A.1.09.01). Hope that helps.
I have it listed as sonata 12 in F minor, I have found it on IMSLP, there is also a book published by Carisch called le 12 Sonate di Baldassare Galuppi which has it in (also as no. 12)
This is just an amateurish approximation of an arturo benedetti michelangeli promo video…True artists shun vanity projects. The difference is that a vanity artist (aka VO) will try to appear as legitimate as it can when compared to a 'real' artist (aka ABM), much like Vanity Galleries and Co-ops, pay to play, pay for views and pay for cred…busted
What is your favourite performance by Víkingur Ólafsson ever?

Glass Etude no. 5....and Glass isn't my bag !
Bach: Organ Sonata No. 4 BWV 528: II. Andante [Adagio].

His transcription/arrangement of Rameau’s The Arts and the Hours.
I’ve been obsessed with this piece and Vikingur’s playing ever since I heard it first. Amazing.
I thought it was one of Scarlatti's magical sonatas.

Beautiful as ever, but who is the composer? It says Galuppi in the title but Cimarosa in the description.

If anyone could point me in the direction of sheet music, it would be greatly appreciated. Have been looking, but no joy.
