You should make a massive aircraft for hauling these heavier crafts into orbit, like the Rockwell X-30 or Star Raker SSTO's. This may also require you to make a double wide runway, but it'd definately be worth it when it comes to cargo capacity.
I believe that Eeloo being a moon of Sarnus is based on some of Nova Silisko's notes for GP2 or GP3 where a second/third gas giant would have a large moon like Eeloo. The desert moon is also based on this.
@@smooneychad apparently UA-cam deleted my reply earlier, look up Gas Planet 2 on the ksp wiki and you can go down the rabbit hole there with Noca's original ksp plot that ksp 2 seemed interested in reviving.
Eeloo is weird it was designed to look like Enceladus but made as analog of Pluto. also it was made before new horizons gave us details of what Pluto actually looks like.
It is crazy to think how long KSP has been around, and the discoveries made during its time. :) News of Enceladus's water jets must have been fairly recent when it was designed. It was meant to be a moon, there was going to be a second gas giant, but it was cancelled and Eeloo put in a Pluto-like orbit.
It feels like it's been such a short time since the start of the ksp plane only series. What a journey! Also, maybe the next time you go to a gas giant, you could bring like a small electric plane like the one you sent to Eve to hop around the different atmospheric biomes? Just a suggestion
Pretty sure the suit glitch is a conflict between texture replacer and the stock suit switching system (they use textures that are upside down relative to each other so the texture gets mapped incorrectly). You should be able to turn off 'personalise suits' in the texture replacer menu in the space centre view and that should fix it.
When i sent a rover to teckto, i never knew how to get good sarnus encounters, so i went to sarnus while on a kerbol escape trajectory, and let's just say the atmosphere of tekto shredded the heatshield
For "clipped" parts that destroy your craft: I've found that sometimes if you detach the parts, then instantly non-phys warp, they will ignore physics and drift away from your craft. Also great video, very entertaining!
The Wormhole seems like a perfect challenge to send a couple of satellites for this series. You should make a satellite that's designed to orbit around the Wormhole to collect science and monitor the Wormhole. The second is a probe satellite that's designed to go through the Wormhole to explore the solar system and its function is to send data without leaving the Solar System back to the Kerbin System.
Sadly, comms are broken with kcalbeloh, and even having a relay around the wormhole on the stock systems side won't give you a connection to a craft on the kcalbeloh side of the wormhole
just binged the entire series, i dont play ksp and dont know too much about it but i felt like i understood everything that was going on, youre very good at explaining. is this series gonna have new uploads?
I used to play a lot of modded KSP about 10 years ago and have recently gotten back into it. Just found your channel as well as this series and was wondering if there's any reason you decided not to use Ferram Aerospace? Idk if it's as big now as it was back in my day but it was a must have for people who wanted to take planes seriously. It makes the aerodynamics in the game much more realistic
I was trying to improve the overall fun of the game while keeping it as stock as possible or close to what KSP2 was supposed to have (the near future mods and kcalbeloh were to mimic that) I usually think of FAR as being more on the realism overhaul side of mods with RSS and stuff, rather than with the stock system and parts. I’m really looking forward to getting a good realism mod list going and doing a similar sorts of series with that though!
also, next time you get science from somewhere far-off, you should drop it off at stoney station, then you can put all collected science and turn it into data for the science lab aboard to use. If there's too many experiments you can store them on stoney station in one of those experiment storage units.
My original plan was to do this but by the time I got back to kerbin I was too eager and just went through with the landing and recovery, I have a really cool plan for doing this in the next mission though!
@@smooneychad makes sense, bet the kerbals agreed! Also, you should check out extraplanetary launchpads if you haven't already. it's great for interstellar colonies and such.
Been thinking of doing this! it’s crazy how the decision early on of grabbing a polar crossing asteroid has had so many unique consequences later on now lol
Currently using three: Outer Planets mod (Saturn Neptune and Pluto analogues) Minor Planets Expansion (Kuiper belt objects, more asteroid belt objects) and Kcalbeloh system (the wormhole system in the video, many many new objects)
I think you should get deferred rendering. Or maybe not because for me it is not compatible with raster prop monitors. Deferred makes the lighting look better and saves on performance.
I’m doing good! Just had a bunch of stuff pop up that’s been taking most of my editing time, ending with a bit of a road trip for a few days. So no video yet again, but things should start to get back to normal after this!

Nearly 500Tons good lord! I'm certain that you wouldn't use unshielded nuclear power to lift said 500 tons into orbit... right?
