- Just what is in this water?! Graeme heads out in a small boat powered by an electric motor to try and find what fish lurk in the Russell Powerboats Lake in Eversley. The weather looks good, there is not much wind so he gets to explore much of it casting a rubber lure using an ultra light bait catching rod normally used for catching fish of just 4 inches for bait....But he gets more than he bargained for when it gets bent double by some good sized toothy critturs. Then he drops in to see Grant's Tackle Up and learn a bit more about the different types of braided fishing lines available on the market now...It’s Friday night....so sit back and enjoy..It’s Totally Awesome Fishing time again.

I read that pikes mind, it took one look at you and thought ‘That’s that Graeme Pullen, I give up’. 😂😂🐟🎣
Another great video. That fish jumping into the boat was crazy!
Straight to the wedding bells 😂😂😂😂😂😂 like it ...I'm not a fisherman, but I still love watching this channel. Motorcycles are my love you would never have guessed ❤❤
Sport bikes, sercet tracks & mussel bikes & Drag racing. Was my Passion for many years. Rockingham track & Santa Pod 😊😆. Tho it took away my down time ( being alone & quite time) so got back into fishing. Sitting in the quiet & wilderness, has helped me mental health some much. Are you in the UK. If so check out Fastbyme. He did the the wrk on my TURBO bikes, FRIGGING AWESOME GUY.
I've changed all my reels to braid except one - I love the stuff, and for touch ledgering, I don't think you can beat it. Thanks again, Graeme yet another great teaching video. Well done that man 👍
The only reel I now have with mono is my old Diawa 125 M closed face - great for trotting.
Another AWESOME 🎣🎣video Graeme 👍. Great info on braided lines from the tackle stores of Greg 👍🎣👍🎣
It is definitely a beautiful to play.. I'm just laying here on sofa now listening to the soundtrack. Birds 🐦. What a beautiful place I could spend days there Graeme . I've only done sea fishing from a board but never on a pond or a lake. And that fish was fantastic when it jumped out of that water it makes it all worthwhile.. truly fantastic I'm loving this and I'm only 10 minutes into it .. totally awesome fishing 🎣 G
Another great video my friend.
Looks kinda like Cottonwood blooms, cottonwood tree blooms, man that stuff is a pain in spring, mid spring to early summer, depending on what part of the world you’re in and if you have cottonwood trees and when do they bloom. Yep looks like cottonwood blooms. Hey but still a dandy day for you Graeme!
Can't beat someone with the know how and then update you on the new stuff thanks mate 👍
Another good video from Grey. Grant has a lot of excellent tackle tips.
I love all your content Graeme but love it when you're sea fishing or lure fishing .. thanks very much my good man you're a scholar & gentleman
What a pike! Lovely session, great fishing!
The coolest dad on youtube love watching graham and his son
What a lovely video in fantastic surroundings, enjoyed it👍👍
Certainly a nice looking lake, almost like being in British Columbia or Alaska .
Brilliant fishing once again Graeme there must be a plethora of course fish in that lake as those pike were all of a good stamp and in fin perfect condition. Get the float rods out and see what's lurking under the surface. There's got to be a PB of some sort in there.
Saving this video for tonight after work. Best UK angling channel 💪🎣🐠👌
Decent sardine graeme😆😁👍
Brilliant that it jumped in like that, great watch! Mind you Graham if I ever see you fishing I am going to take those reels off you and give them a bit of grease and oil, a bit of TLC, drives me mad to hear them dry and squeaking like that!
Lol😂
enjoyed that Graham nice Pike and enjoyed the shop talk info.🐊🎣
Honest I thought of that at start of vid beautiful pike lovely lake
i have a theory for white lures: they resemble the belly color of prey -from any angle!
so a fish might attack from any angle due to the fact the lure resembles a vulnerable belly from any direction and 360 degrees around!
wow what a great spot ...so beautiful and peacefull! what a spectacular bunch fish!!! they just jump in there!
great to see u Capt G - my day is made better sharing some fishin with ya!
Fish bellies are white because it blends in with the surface glare when viewed from below, same reason that most fish are dark on the back because they blend better with the bottom when viewed from above. Overall white is the most reflective colour so it will be more visible as long as there is light to reflect off of it, predatory fish appear to have a type of vision that is less attuned to visual detail but very sharp when it comes to detecting movement so anything moving that is easy to see is bound to gain some interest
good point but i was referring to the fact that the belly is an attack zone for all preditors which is where we get the term "belly-up" and why mammals and other animals show their underside as a form of submission. so seeing as we come from the sea, it seems we all share the commonality of having a universal weak-spot ... @@DjDolHaus86
From most positions a lure or prey fish is in silhouette. There are situations where colour makes a difference, but they are not the majority.
love the suiside pike Graeme not many of them caught on camera lol.
Those electric motors are a godsend 👍🎣🐟
I must say I was very impressed with it when drifting,I could make small adjustments without making any noise.
I’ve got one which I use in a tidal harbour and it’s an absolute god send 👍🚣😂
That really was a totally awesome fishing video mate 👍
wow! another great video, now the pike are surrendering when your on the warpath
Finger stalls are a lifesaver if you're casting at distance with braid. If you're giving it the big'un with a big lead or a loaded spomb and your clutch slips while you're loading the rod up in the cast it'll cut you to the bone like a hot knife through butter. They also save you from the annoying friction burn if you're putting a big bed of bait out at more moderate distances, there's nothing worse than dealing with that line of blisters along the top joint of your finger for the rest of your session.
A Totally Awesome fishing trip Graeme.
enjoyed this one some loverly Pike, theres loads who use braid for main line in carp fishing, have you seen any carp at that lake looks carpy lol
Good one...
Maybe that pike wanted to be eaten? It was probably annoyed the there wasn't a frying pan there. 😆
That was a "sociable acceptable pike" and you can never say anymore that a pike never jumped into your boat.
Had to be a 1st for me....Now I need a 400lb Mako shark doing the same, just to spice things up a bit....
@TAFishing I'd be impressed if there were mako's in that lake ha ha. I think I'd prefer not to have a shark jump in my boat, I'm gonna need a bigger boat 😂😂
Great video Graham. What was the lure called you were using.
Some lovely pike there and a compliment jumper ibto the, boat. Must of heard about your, landing skills 🤣
I don't know the actual name of the lure,I just anything rubber with a paddle tail a "Shad"..I think the company were called Caperlan ? or something similar. Good lure, but after a few fish they can get trashed. I even superglued the tail of one together to use it again.
I often actually wondered how to judge the depth when lure fishing so thank you very much for the tips of technique Mr, GP.
What techniques would anyone used for fast flowing.. Harry up in Richmond in North Yorkshire they've just allowed lure fishing back on their waters near.. normally they're only allowing fly fishing or float put the new committee members have done an amazing job allowing now to use spinners lures techniques back on River Swale.. however it's a very very fast flowing river.. I'm not sure it would matter when using lures but what techniques would anyone.. it's prone to flooding in a lot of debris sometimes ends up in the river so there is a lot of snagging even for float technique.. I'm thinking of only using cheap expendable lures next week when I head up there.. it's a beautiful place Richmond and I'm not sure whether you know it Greame .. any tips of technique would be.. it has a depth from about 7 ft sometimes 10 ft in pools put in the summer it can be a shallow as 2 ft.. I know there are lots pike up up there because they have lots of different species from barbel fish to trout even to greyling.. so yeah I'm wondering what Louis would be the best . Advice from anyone.. thanks in advance
GIVE THE VIDEO A 👍
A+
Ace watch them pike defo loves Mr Pullen they are jumping for you
Good
Hey Graeme , are all the ponds you fish at catch & release?Or do you not like to eat pike? Personally I love pike battered & fried, but lots of people won’t eat them unless they are 10 lbs or over here in Saskatchewan.
All catch and release over here, but there are lots of "pay-and-play" waters for trout fishing where you have a limit of trout you have to take. They usually have rules that the fish cannot be released,so basically you have to take whatever you catch.Average would be a 4-fish limit, but on larger reservoirs where the fish are smaller average size it could be 8 in a day. All depends on the rules of each fishery.
Amazing video.... Thank you 😊... May I ask the lure name please?
I think it was made by Caperlan or something ?..Someone else might know the name.
@@TAFishing thanks for the reply truly appreciate your reply and work! Thank you.
@@TAFishing Caperlan Natori 130 from Decathlon ;)
Does braid damage your rod rings?
It hasn't done with mine but if you have the older metal rings I imagine it might do. Always worth making periodic checks on the tip ring of any rod. I have had inserts crack and that can weaken line as it runs through it.
That boat seat wasn't much to sit on.
When was recorded this video?
In the afternoon, somewhere between 2 and 5pm ? At least that's what I remember as I was just grabbing a few hours after doing work.
