😃 You not only saved me the expense of going to a jeweler, but the cost of a gallon of gas to get there! Bought a watch online and this saved me that extra cost. Thank you for making it so straightforward!
11 years, and videos like these are so helpful!! I have never adjusted a watch for myself before, but thanks to your video, I'll know how to do it. Thank you, sir!
You are awesome. I’ve paid jewelers to remove links at $20 a visit all my life. Finally I decide to look up a video. I didn’t have a hammer. I used the bottom of a body spray bottle and I am now so elated I learned how to do it. Thank you for making it so easy.
I also got a watch for Christmas, and thanks to this simple video have managed to take 3 links out (I've got small wrists!) and my watch now fits perfectly! Not sure why anyone at all has given this a thumbs down??? Definitely saved me from having to pay someone to do it for me!
I just want to come back and say a million thank you’s for this video. I did both my stainless steel watches and now I’m doing my friends too. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks, did the trick! *Trim nails are perfect for popping pins out* Also, sponge underneath allows pin to pop out without being bent (remember you'll want to put 1 back) and protect new watch from scuffs while pounding out/in! Thanks for the video!
Thanks! I went to WalMart, TJMaxx, Kay's Jeweler's, and Zales today. Zales would have done it for $15 and a 30 minute wait so I decided to go to a pawn shop. Called them on my way and they said $10 a link and 7-10 days wait. I really didn't want to mess it up but you made it look easy peasy! My husband and I used a board with a little notch cut out to allow the pin to pop out but it was just as easy as you made it look! So glad to finally wear my beautiful gift!
All this time I was sweating bullets about removing the links on my watch, until I followed your video. You are simply the best! Thanks for taking the time to post. Life is good because of people like you in it.
Most people that make how to videos ramble and are hardly informative. good video, straight to the point and accomplished what I came to see. Thanks, well done.
Thanks dude! I just bought a watch and had no idea what to do. 30 minutes in using a needle and a screw driver head I did it! Super proud! Thank God for UA-cam!
Just got a new Bulova watch from Santa and need to remove two links, just like you. Thank you so much for the lesson--it really saves time and trouble. Great job!
I think this was SUPER helpful. I bought a silver band for my Samsung Gear Fit2 and didmt want to spend more on getting links taken out than the actual band. This was a perfectly done video with very clear instructions. I did it all by myself, thanks to you. As for all the "its uneven" stuff, it's not that serious. Being off by one link doesn't make a hint of difference. Only if you're removing like six links like I had to. Even then, I took four from one side and two from the other and it looks absolutely fine. In fact, it put the flat part of the clasp EXACTLY in the middle of my wrist. Making it more comfortable. Thanks again!! 😘😘
a jeweler quoted me 20 bucks to do this kind of job just to remove one link...then on a whim i put in a search on youtube and your video popped up. said what the hell right before i was gonna walk out the door and then 15 min later, boom!!! did it myself! Thanks so much to you and you're straightforward method!
Shawn R lol you let 3 watches sit for years instead of looking up how to adjust them or stopping by a jeweler who would probably do it for free....moron

Common sense thing to do is like what he said, go to a jeweler or try to learn to do it yourself. I think you're a moron too.
@@reghouls why would I be mad? You replied to the other guy saying you didn't ask. You were the one who got mad, and I'm explaining to you why you got the response you got.
Excellent! We have jewellers in the UK charging £15 to £20 to do that simple job (they're actually embarrassed when you ask them the cost)! I will be doing my own now I know how straight forward it is. Thanks Alan :)
Thanks! Only major challenge was finding a stiff-enough yet small-enough wire. A safety pin worked, although I had to clip off the point, and the wire kept bending when I hammered it. I bent it so that the part under the stress of being hammered was only 1/4 inch long. The bend also made it easier to hold. And I got my wife to help hold the band steady, which also helped.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I went to 2 separate shops asking them to alter my new watch and both of them said they wouldn't touch it but after watching this video I was able to alter it myself in about half an hour. Thanks again brother!
Hassan Ali, I was thinking the same thing...this video shows where he took out 2 links on the same side...doesn't make sense...it's going to be uneven.. also, I didn't know about arrows on the under side of watch bands...I tried to pop the pin from the arrow side where he shows in the video... the pin wouldn't come out...so I tried the other side and it came out...what's up with that??
Thank You Sir! The price to get links removed is ridiculous. You saved many people money and time with this tutorial. I wrapped my watch face in micro fiber cloth also to make sure not to damage it.
Thank you so much. My son received a lovely watch for his eighteenth birthday today and we didn't have time to get to a jewellers to remove 2 links before he went out. I managed to do this perfectly after watching your video - #topmum THANK YOU!

Many thanks, I just picked up a really nice watch for my wife at a garage sale. The battery was dead, and it needed a couple links removed. Thanks to you, for the cost of a battery and 1 dollar, my wife has a nice watch.
Thanks for the clear and informative video! Just fixed my bracelet size :D PS. a small block of wood works well instead of a larger mallet if anyone doesn't have one on hand. Also make sure to not put any side-ways or twisting motion on the bracelet while taking out the pins as this will make the job much harder
Ur damn right. Why do new watch owners have to go thru this indignity with every new watch? Banging their watches on a counter top, watching it flop around with every hit of the mallet. This is stupid. Particularly since 10 years ago when they came up with this new phenomenon of 'fashion watches' which will last a maximum of 18 months. Buying watches so frequently and having to do this pin-banging absolutely sucks. The only correct way to do this is with the tool that they sell for this very purpose. But should we really have to buy something for this purpose? Suggesting paper clips for this is really lame. Many paper clips are too thick to go thru the pin holes. This is my problem. You'll bang away and just watch your pin hole get stretched open. This is exactly how I want to spend a Sunday afternoon. No thanks. I hate it when somebody addresses an issue that is justifiably difficult and then solves it with a bogus process/materials as was done here and then says its 'easy'. I have little doubt that he had already banged the pin out ahead of time and put it back in. He had far too easy a time at it. I took a similar jewelers' screwdriver as he did and bent the black shaft so many times that it finally broke off. I was able to get ONE pin out but of course - u need to get TWO pins out. This band that I'm dealing with really doesn't use shaft pins but elongated cotter type pings. They're under a bit more pressure I think. Band makers need to find a better way to keep their links together. This sucks.
I'm looking at my watch (Merona) and it doesn't have those holes near the arrows. I was able to take the pin out but there's no other holes to hammer at on top of the links or on them.
Learned a new skill today, worked great, my watch didn’t have arrows, but I could tell one side had a small screw like cap, so pounded through the other side and grabbed onto the screw cap with a tweezers and it came right out! Thank you for the lesson!
Well, only if you *absolutely* feel as though you have to have the clasp portion of the watchband centered on the opposite side of your wrist from the watch face. You'll obviously rotate/position the face wherever you want to on your mid wrist, who cares where the back part is particularly situated.
Given that UA-cam has every 'how to' video nowadays and the fact I just couldn't be assed going to the local shopping complex to visit the jewellers, especially on a Sat., i thought Id check this out. 5 mins of careful work and voila!!! Hey, I just recently bought a new watch myself with a bracelet, but it was to big for my wrist. Now thanks to u and your video, my watch fits me perfectly and buying it wasn't a waste of my money. Once again, thank u.
Thank you so much! I was able to use a sewing needle and a wrench to remove mine! This video was a life saver. Or at least a money saver. Fast Fix wanted to charge me $18 for something that took me 5 minutes to do myself.
I did a google search to find a place where they could adjust my brand new watch, since I have very slim wrists when this video appeared among the results. Thanks this, I did it by myself and saved money. I used a simple earring and a wood cooking spoon to hammer it. It took me like 5min to push out the first pin, after that I found it very easy. Thank you so much!
If your watch doesn't have arrows it may not be a pin removed but a flap that gets bent upwards to release the interlaced link, if there is a gap crease in your links on the inside of the wrist, this is the kind of watch you have. May need a razor edge to wedge them off
just done this and it worked perfectly , easy peasy ! one hint though , sometimes if taking out more than one link consider taking a link from each side so that the clasp stays centred. great video thanks.
Thanks much... I kept asking the men around me if they knew how to remove the links and no one knew and I didn't wanna go pay to get it done so I finally did it myself with ur video assistance. Hit my dam finger, but it was worth it😂😅🙏🤣
Hey, thanks a lot. Was struggling to get link out of my Seiko watchband and decided to google for a technique to do so. Your video is the perfect answer. Removed link in less than 10 minutes! Keep up the good work. FIVE STARS in the event they are rewarded...
Small Daddy okay one, it's not psychology. two, it's not reverse anything if he shows or mentions how to do that you needed. lastly, if you already took them off, why the hell would you need help using the same process to put them back on?

Thanks this, I did it by myself and saved money. I used a simple earring and a wood cooking spoon to hammer it. It took me like 5min to push out the first pin, after that I found it very easy. Thank you so much!
my watch doesnt have arrows
Mine doesn't either.
meekeedutsa Get A Better Watch
Mine has them all right... But they're pointing outwards on both sides of the link.
Sebastian Hernandez I've got an Armani watch and mine doesn't have it
If your watch doesn't have arrows it may not be a pin removed but a flap that gets bent upwards to release the interlaced link, if there is a gap crease in your links on the inside of the wrist, this is the kind of watch you have. May need a razor edge to wedge them off
just done this and it worked perfectly , easy peasy ! one hint though , sometimes if taking out more than one link consider taking a link from each side so that the clasp stays centred. great video thanks.
What if the pin is stuck? We can see that he went a bit down, but it just won't come out.
When in doubt, use C4
Just helped me fix a broken link on my watch after 9 years, thank you good sir, wish you the best of luck
Worked but even after removing all removable links it is still to big, damn me and my small wrists.
@@am4nrb264 modern problems require modern solutions 🤣🤣
Right to the point no intro or extro ...no back story.... 😂😂😂 Thank you
You can get a link remover from amazon for about £2 or so
Did it exactly as described. Took about 5 mins to take off a link from each side.
Thanks man !
Anybody watching in 2020 ?
I'm watching in 2024 😂
Me too
Thanks much... I kept asking the men around me if they knew how to remove the links and no one knew and I didn't wanna go pay to get it done so I finally did it myself with ur video assistance. Hit my dam finger, but it was worth it😂😅🙏🤣
Nice vid. That screw driver is exactly what I have. I love your "hello people of the internet" btw lol. Thumbup'd.
Hey, thanks a lot. Was struggling to get link out of my Seiko watchband and decided to google for a technique to do so. Your video is the perfect answer. Removed link in less than 10 minutes! Keep up the good work. FIVE STARS in the event they are rewarded...
i used this vid to add a link. Reverse psychology, youtube ✌
Small Daddy okay one, it's not psychology. two, it's not reverse anything if he shows or mentions how to do that you needed. lastly, if you already took them off, why the hell would you need help using the same process to put them back on?
finally a vid that has a guy laying down the steps instead of just jumping ahead. TY SIR I GOT A WATCH FOR CHRISTMAS TO BEEN IN MY CLOSET CAUSE ITS TO BIG NOW CAUSE OF THIS VID I GET TO WEAR IT AND IT FITS! XD
