  • The BEST way to remove links held by PINS without a proper tool! Use a Thumb Tack, Sim Ejector tool or any pin to resize the metal band/bracelet!
    Note, this method does not work for links held by screws. For links that are held by screws, you will only be able to use a fine tip screwdriver.
    Timestamps:
    0:13 - Removing looser links with just a pin and your fingers!
    3:29 - Remove slightly stubborn links with books, a hammer and a pin!

    Easy peasy all by myself. I didn't have a thumb tack but found a tiny screw that fit the pin, and used the back of a screwdriver to hammer it thru! Thanks so much.

    I did it and it worked! Instead of the thumb tack for the initial removal I used a mechanical pencil. Some of the pencils have the little metal tube that sticks out where the lead comes out that does not move in or out - some do not. I found one that I had. It was easy to push the pin out with it. I did use the tack to slightly tap it back in the last little bit (although it probably didn't need it so much).

    thank you, got my new Christmas present fitting now! after two minor puncture wounds I found its much easier to get one pin out via thumbtack method, then use that pin to push out the others with a mallet and light taps.

    Thanks! My watch has been on the shelf for months because the pin somehow came out halfway and I didn’t know how to get it back in. I used a paper clip to push it all the way out and pressed it back in with some closed tweezers.

    Works a treat, thanks! I used the gap between the wooden floorboards instead of books, as this was filled and easy enough to retrieve the pin. Is interesting that using manual force doesn't do the trick, but tapping with something heavy like a power bank works every time.

    Love your book clamp trick. I managed to take themout without hamner, just my 2 finger push on the safety pin and I'm a woman. But now I'm having troubles on assembling them back. 😂😅😅

  • @DatHuzzah
    @DatHuzzah Рік тому +7

    If you have a bench vice, place a safety pin in the vice and clamp it tight, this is much easier than balancing a thumbtack or pin on a table, and you can also crouch down below the height of the vice and look up to make sure the safety pin is located in the hole for the watch pin, before you apply the pressure to push the watch pin out, thus preventing any scratches 👍

    This worked for me, but only after beating the crap out of it for an hour or so. Worked better once I broke off the sharp point of the thumbtack so it was flat ended, and I don't think it would have worked with a normal thumbtack- we happened to have some solid metal thumbtacks that were like, industrial or smth

    PLEASE. ALL OF YOU. INCLUDING THE HOST. WATCH SEVERAL VIDEOS AT LEAST. WATCH AT LEAST SEVERAL VIDEOS. BEFORE TRYING TO DO ANYTHING TO ANYTHING. I wish I did. For this issue, be advised there are a few different types of pins. And a shitload of tools and methods. I can tell you; this guy's method will work, even if it's wrong f9r other 5ypes of pins. For instance, Watch for single-screw pins, double-screw pins, collar pins are super tricky, and I'm trying to find a video for what I can only describe as "Concentric-circle, on one end, pins with the other end just wide, flat, smooth-ended" pins from Asia. I don't EVEN know what keywords to search with. But I AM learning. Please take my advice and learn from as many people as you can stand. You might need your favorite beverage, but you'll feel pretty cool about knowing what you're doing. I mean really knowing. Good luck.
    P.S.: BTW, I did learn something from this video too. Just saying...

    I bought a cheap one off Amazon for a fitness watch. Dicked around with it for 20 minutes, couldn't even get one to budge, so I spiked it off my concrete floor. Amazingly the pins all budged then! Problem solved by throwing these horrible bands in the trash and buying anything but these.
    Seriously its 2023, there are better ways to make things that adjust.
