I like your enthusiasm and character! I used to dabble a little bit with the process but not for a while and you are making me want to do some custom hot wheels! I appreciate any feedback from my comments! Thanks
OK. 1- I had no idea I was interested in hot wheels restorations...like, at all. Yet here I am at 3:41am and several videos into your channel and enjoying every one. I find them very calming and relaxing. Great work. I love the attention to detail and the effort put in. I hate people that half-ass work and you do good work. 2. I have enjoyed watching the evolution of your skills, your techniques, and your tools from your early videos to now. I enjoy learning with you as much as I enjoy watching someone take their time and do good work. 3. Great video work too. An unheralded skill that I bet takes a lot of time and effort that no one sees. 4. The one thing that does really bother me though is that you never seem to straighten the axles. Why is that? 5. I also saw another guy that fixes matchbox cars use a combination of the liquid superglue and baking powder to make a kind of instant epoxy type glue that seemed to help him with quite a few restorations. Have you tried this?
It’s amazing how much y’all put into restoring these cars. I’m a professionally trained Auto Detail Technician, And work on a lot of Show cars , exotics, and antiques. In a way, it’s similar. I also had some 300 of these as a kid. 👍🙂‼️
Thanks! Nostalgia at its best. The Red Baron was the first Hot Wheels car I ever bought with my own money. She was always special to me. Unfortunately lost to time. It was awesome to see one that looks so close to what I remember. Love your narration... "Don't look at the hole in the glove!" Thanks again.
that is such a great car. it really shows the generation it was made in. a toy with the iron cross and a stormtroopers stahlhelm. it would never be made today, someone might get offended. it looks awesome, thanks for showing it
Great restoration,,,,only ever saw one of these here in England in the early 70s,,,, Im In my 50s and just started restoring models again,,,just doing a 1970s Matchbox Javelin,,,wishing everyone a great Sunday,,,
As I have said before red with redlines always looks awesome. The re-plating really shows a difference. Another fantastic restore, and congrats on hitting 5k, that happened quick!👍😉
Once again a very nice restauration of a redliner. Excellent job and a professional video ! I would like to see the Corvette in red as Prince sung " Little red corvette". Nice greetings from Hamburg/ Germany!
Quite and involved process, but you came through everything brilliantly. What a beautiful job on this classic Hot Wheels model! All the best for your future work.
Thank you, the Red Baron restore is beautiful, but it's awesome you talk to your viewers while doing the work. You've a new suciber No I can't spell. Good Job keep it up.
Your videos are fantastic! I would love to see some more customs in addition to the restorations. As for the Vette, while the hot pink would be great, I'd love to see an orange or a banana yellow
Spectra Gold for the Vette... man that Baron looks great. Sweet Restore. You use the most aggressive paint remover I've seen among the other restorers. Nice.
That's an original, with the big spike on the helmet. Your repro has the smaller 'safer' spike. Glad you stuck with the original. It turned out absolutely beautiful. I'd like to see that new Spectraflame pink on that 'Vette - I don't believe I've seen one in that colour, to be honest. Great work!
a bit late with a reply, but it turned out amazing. the zinc plating does wonders. i will have to say, i wish you'd applied the iron cross decals on the helmet... that would have really completed it.
Not that this is my favorite car, that distinction is a three-way tie between Deora, Twin Mill, and Vairy 8, but so far and from the cars I've seen of yours so far, this is my favorite work. I've still got a lot of videos to watch.
Yeah. He tried that on the Deora. It came out alright, but not what any of us expected. He did another car called Tribaby in green and it was closer to antifreeze than the antifreeze. I never cared for the car, but the repaint was excellent.
Any chance this Baron could get his iron cross decorations restored via waterslide decals in the future? If I had one to restore, I'd be so tempted to paint the machine gun barrels black... ;-)
Great job on the resto of the Baron! As far as the vette is concerned, I'd say since its already green....how bout spectraflame green? Maybe a darker shade of green to match the color already present? Also, you could give it a little extra oomph by painting the roof black to simulate a ragtop! Just my 2 cents ;)
Awesome video once again, I looked at it and will never be the same might need therapy. My vote for the vette would be silver. But what ever you decide it will be amazing! Thanks for your videos
I was JUST about to say "get yourself a dremel mini drill press for the posts" and you said the local hardware store has em for half off. You might have to make yourself a custom clamp to grip the posts square to mount to the bottom of the drill press. You don't want to grip the engine or helmet with a regular vise, you may damage them.
I wont be able to use the Dremel drill press just because the Dremel doesn't go slow enough to drill. I think id break a lot of bits while drilling posts out. I'm a talking a real deal mini drill press where you can adjust the belts to really slow it down if you need to. I do want to have a more reliable vise or clamp of some sort so I don't have to have my fingers sooo close.
@@DiecastResurrection If all your posts are the same diameter, you could make a clamp out of two pieces of 1/8" steel. Think of a pair of needle nose pliers with a screw thread in the handles so you can tighten it up. If you got a cheap pair from the dollar store you could probably heat up the grips and flatten them out a bit. Then drill one grip and drill and tap the other and install a bolt. Just thinking outloud, you could probably just drill them to fit an 8-32 machine screw. (if they are wide enough). I say use dollar store ones because they use cheap steel that you can easily drill. Buy something a little better and it might be hardened. Let me know if you need a sketch of what i'm talking about, i can send you something via private message (new feature on youtube!)
If you have a creamy pink I think that would be cool. HK Creamy pink is the toughest HK vette color. Great video. And yes, the glove bothered me...hahaha
Maybe I have mental issues, but I love the bare metal look on all of these cars. They look aggressive and interesting. Maybe it’s because it’s not something you see every day. I’d love to see a bare metal 1970 ford galaxie 500. Or Torino.
Nice job. I'd recommend using some treating to the plated parts. I have some experience with zinc casting and it tends to oxidize really fast without treatment.
I used automotive clearcoat with an adhesion promoter. I also met some special chemistry but not sure where to get one. Some googling reveals these guys www.chemcoaters.com/products-services/intercoat-chemguard/
ATTENTION PEOPLE OF EARTH.. I HAVE PAINTED THE CORVETTE!!...
🤔 I have a strong feeling you chose pink🤣👍
I'm hoping pink....
Dammit Gary.. SSSSHhhH!
And what if Im not from planet earth?
I love it when you make the truck deliver tires!!!
This video was great. It brought back memories because my brother had that Red Baron car. Thank you.
Best restoration ever! Start to finish . So now the Red Baron can fly once again!
I like your enthusiasm and character! I used to dabble a little bit with the process but not for a while and you are making me want to do some custom hot wheels! I appreciate any feedback from my comments! Thanks
Wade man, you have been binge watching! Thanks for checking in out, Its satisfying getting a car done and starting a new one. I hope you get in to it!
One of my favorite Hotwheels as a kid.
Mannnnn does this car bring back a lot of memories, I had this Hot Wheels as a kid! Would love to see a full size one....lol

I like the way you polished that hood up so nice.
It’s amazing how much y’all put into restoring these cars.

In a way, it’s similar.
I also had some 300 of these as a kid.
👍🙂‼️
One of the most iconic Hot Wheels cars, yet this is the first one I've seen restored ! Excellent job. Antifreeze on the Corvette -it's winter !
Great video! Never owned a worthwhile collection that I know of, but found this restoration fascinating!! Well done!
I love the wheel delivery service. The red barron looks great
Nice restoration. Love the truck delivering the wheels!
As a kid growing up in the late 70s. This was the premier hot wheel to have!!😀😀👍👍
Yea they are sweeeet!
Another awesome video. Good to see the zinc plating dialed in. Amazing helmet. Can't wait for the Vette!
Thanks Pedro, working on the Vette today :D
Very nice!
This channel is brilliant! I never thought resurrecting old Hot Wheels could be soooo fun.
Thanks! Nostalgia at its best. The Red Baron was the first Hot Wheels car I ever bought with my own money. She was always special to me. Unfortunately lost to time. It was awesome to see one that looks so close to what I remember. Love your narration... "Don't look at the hole in the glove!"

that is such a great car. it really shows the generation it was made in. a toy with the iron cross and a stormtroopers stahlhelm. it would never be made today, someone might get offended. it looks awesome, thanks for showing it
Imagine someone building that as a real car.
Great restoration,,,,only ever saw one of these here in England in the early 70s,,,, Im In my 50s and just started restoring models again,,,just doing a 1970s Matchbox Javelin,,,wishing everyone a great Sunday,,,
Thanks for watching my friend!
Diecast Resurrection ,,,, Thanx,,have a great week,,,
Wow. The Red Baron was the gold standard of Hot Wheels. Back in first grade, if you possessed the Red Baron, you were definitely hot shit.
Awesome job on the Red Baron. Also, I like how to clean up the base.
Your commentary on. This video was hilarious 😂. Loved the car too!!
*man sized drill bit* TRIGGERED!
That brought memories of those crazy 60s hot rods. It came out great!
Sounds like if Peter Venkman did hotwheels restorations 😁 double awesome! Great resto sir!
As I have said before red with redlines always looks awesome. The re-plating really shows a difference. Another fantastic restore, and congrats on hitting 5k, that happened quick!👍😉
That escalated quickly! Thanks for tuning in Gary you are solid.
Great job on that Red Baron!!! 👌🏻 I will love to see purple on that corvette 😁
Once again a very nice restauration of a redliner. Excellent job and a professional video !
I would like to see the Corvette in red as Prince sung " Little red corvette". Nice greetings from Hamburg/ Germany!
You really out did your self on this one, it looks SUPER!
Man, that red Spectra Flame turned out great!
Quite and involved process, but you came through everything brilliantly. What a beautiful job on this classic Hot Wheels model! All the best for your future work.
Really glad you did the assembly on front of my face. I never see the ones done behind it.
Great work as always.
Love your videos! They always put a smile on my face.
Great vid. I think the Corvette would look pretty nice in black, but not so easy to get a good finish!
The Red Baron is one really cool car.
Love the Red Baron. Great job. I think either black or blue would look good on the corvette.
That punch on the second spot was perfect
Dude, you crack me up. I'm addicted to watching these restoration videos and yours are by far the most entertaining. Cheers!
Hot pink for the Corvette would be real nice I think. That Red Baron looks amazing. Good job.
Magenta !!!
Nice job on upping your zinc system !
The Red Baron looks just awesome!! On the Corvette, the hot pink would look amazing in my opinion!
I enjoyed the video and your commentary.
Spectra Gold for the Vette... man that Baron looks great. Sweet Restore. You use the most aggressive paint remover I've seen among the other restorers. Nice.
Turned out great nice work
Your videos are amazing, please keep them coming.
Don't look at the hole! I couldn't take my eyes off when you said that! Great Job.
Great restoration on the Red Baron . Looks awesome 👍
On the Corvette , maybe a turquoise colour ☺
Great looking restore!
Great work!
The Barron came out great
I totally forgot about those little cars....until now!!!
Great work, you brought it back to life! As for the Vette, the metallics are getting pretty old. A nice classic solid Coca-Cola red would look great!
Oh, in all the excitement of the corvette color choice, I forgot to tell you--great job on the Red Baron. It looks fantastic!
Never a good thing when you've got a crusty helmet.
Gotta polish it til it shines!
You can get a cream to fix that.
Just give it a good rub
I feel like if you have a crusty helmet you need to see a doctor
You guys are hilarious.
Red Baron and Paddywagon were my favorite, I have them both in original packaging [ bought in the last few years at swap meets ].
a bit late with a reply, but it turned out amazing. the zinc plating does wonders. i will have to say, i wish you'd applied the iron cross decals on the helmet... that would have really completed it.
I have to say your paint jobs are nice
I think it would be better to attach the negative lead to the zinc. Negative ions always travel to the positive.
Fantastic video!!!.....worthy to watch with a 25 yr old whisky!!!....
You're goddamn right Karl! Cheers!
Dude, your videos are top notch . You, baremetalhw, and WheelsnThangs are the leaders in die cast restorations. Keep up the fantastic work!
Dont forget Marty!
Not that this is my favorite car, that distinction is a three-way tie between Deora, Twin Mill, and Vairy 8, but so far and from the cars I've seen of yours so far, this is my favorite work. I've still got a lot of videos to watch.
Always wanted one of those little cars
looks great!
Antifreeze would look good on the Vette, great job on the Baron!
I second the antifreeze! That would look neat!
hard to get that perfect, hed probably be reluctant to do it.
Yeah. He tried that on the Deora. It came out alright, but not what any of us expected. He did another car called Tribaby in green and it was closer to antifreeze than the antifreeze. I never cared for the car, but the repaint was excellent.
After you mentioned it....I couldn't stop looking at the hole in the glove!
Any chance this Baron could get his iron cross decorations restored via waterslide decals in the future?
If I had one to restore, I'd be so tempted to paint the machine gun barrels black... ;-)
I have over 1,000 Hotwheels that never been opened and about 50 of my favorite that need to be restored!
Your videos are brilliant.
I think i need therapy as well. Maybe we could get a discount if we both go to the same place.
I have a bunch of old hot wheels cars u do a good job
Great job on the baron! It's got to be a blue on the corvette :)
Beautiful entry😂and verry nice job👌
Peace ✌️
The Red Baron is a
Great Job....
If, just in case, nobody's told you that they Love You.
I'm not startin nothin.........
Luv Y'all
The corvette would look really nice blue. Metal flake silver base with spectra blue and clear coat and some silver pin stripe.
That’s a very nice!
Great job!
Love your videos, I just hate I was late to your party! Glad I can still watch them though.
Great job I had one as a kid...... My vote for the vette would be spectra flame green or root beer brown....
Another awesome restoration!
FACTORY restoration for the Corvette please!
Awesome!

Turned out amazing
Solid solid work man👍
a keyless chuck from any old cheap/broken drill...makes a great vise for small parts that have a post...or can have a post attached to them
That's a great idea actually. I'ma look into something like that.
Great job i have a red baron in need of restoration don't think I will get that good
I say antifreeze on the corvette. Great job on the Red Barron.
Paint it red. Outstanding work on red Baron. I think you can get the iron cross for the helmet. Otherwise outstanding.
Nice red baron restoration, congrats, for corvette i suggest hot pink, there a cream pink very rare. I will use gold for mine, regards
Cool, my Red Baron looks pretty much the same(no engine) might have too watch more of your vids and try a restoration my self.
Good to hear Stinky Whizzleteats found other work.
ua-cam.com/video/_lRGNiqVxiE/v-deo.html
Amazing work!
That was downright pretty.
Nice job. I'd recommend using some treating to the plated parts. I have some experience with zinc casting and it tends to oxidize really fast without treatment.
That probably a good idea, have any suggestions?
