One of these days Danya is gonna have to bite the bullet and reinvent the wheel
this comment is goated
man this comment cracked me up
😂😂
Even if he has to make a concession?
😂😂😂😂
The Hikaru impersonation always gets me. “It’s a right triangle, chat. Isosceles. Chat?” 😂
I literally don't care
@@aroop818 He's doing a Hikaru impression. It's something Hikaru said once
@@aroop818 he’s making a reference
Classic triangle it’s a classic triangle chat
@@antimatter2417 nah if you didn't you wouldn't have commented
Danya with 10 seconds left: “This is plenty of time, I just need to focus.”
Me with 10 seconds left: “FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!”
@Billy Li “Everything is under control.”
@@marcossandoval7048 lmao I felt so safe when he said that
Me with 10 minutes left:
Daniel: plays Stafford
Rosen fans: WOOOO YEAH BABY THATS WHAT WE'RE WAITING FOR
Never clicked on something faster.
I like that Moistcritikal reference - pog
Rosen's fan dont WOO they Ooho
ohh no my queen
Get yourself someone that calms you down the way Danya calms down chat when he's very low on time.
Kinda funny that he’s calming chat down instead of the other way around
Erjc Rosen is a good dude. You're a good dude. Probably my two favorite chess channels.
Legit! Love Eric's Stafford and London content. I also enjoy educational content and Daniel's speed run content is great for that even if I'm not looking to even become decent at chess right now.
I told myself “I’m not going to go down the UA-cam rabbit hole tonight, I’m going to watch Daniels speed run and go to bed at a decent hour” so far so good!
Gpt-3
Good luck mate
You should be asleep by now ..
@@davidschilling2949 Are you implying Caleb is a bot?
Let me introduce you to this wonderful concept called: Time Zones…
Seeing you go GM in the last ten seconds is truly a sight to behold. Like fuckin watching Goku have fun with his opponent before going Super Sayan
Danya's appreciation of Rosen really warmed my ❤. Danya and Eric are two of my faves.
Just won my first OTB podium, in a local U1500 tournament! And it's all thanks to Danya's instructive content, playing the openings Danya recommends, paying attention to active development and king safety, noticing pins and watching out for forks, getting excited about xrays and discoveries, weak squares and outposts, open files and batteries, and all the rest of the wisdom I could retain from the videos so far. Thanks, Danya!
I wonder how many of Danya’s opponents have reported cheating after their games. The second guy was like there is no way my opponent is going to checkmate me with 10s on the clock. Poor guy probably played the game of his life and yet lost!
His account has only 3 losses on record and those look like test games before he started the speedrun and he's at like 2000 rating now... I bet he gets a report every other game lol
@@meagherman1013 The first three games were to lower his rating down as much as possible prior to the start of the speed run. He probably does get reported, but if you click on the account it does make clear it is a speed run account of a GM, so most people are probably like "woah, cool, I just got my ass kicked by a GM"
Your level of self-awareness is one of many factors that make you such an amazing chess instructor and player. Keep doing your thing, and your life's trajectory will lead you to fulfillment. Thanks for putting yourself out there.
This read like a fortune cookie.
@@yellowsubmarinegirl1583 lmao
facts!
i noticed you put timestamps in the description, but if you add 0:00 as a timestamp it adds chapters to the video
Does it automatically know where to?
@@Ninterd2 yeah it’s just based on the time stamps the creator puts.
@@floridaman6281 yeah, but that's what I meant. Daniel still has to put timestamps.
@@Ninterd2 he puts time stamps anyway in the desc (or his editor does), so it doesn’t hurt to add the 0:00
@@Ninterd2 Whoever adds the videos, they wrote the timestamps, the only difference is the "time bar" is not broken into different sections
Man this man is a gem.
The classic isosceles triangle chat, the classic
I legit look forward to these videos everyday. Thanks Danya
You're the only UA-camr for which I don't skip ads but instead cherish them as I can contribute to your revenue
Haha! Just thought you were overdue for another one of these. Keep up the great work Daniel, you're an amazing teacher.
The bongloud game was so good. it's always great when the opponent plays solidly and actually lets Danya teach
Daniel: makes a video refuting the Stanford
Also Daniel: plays Stafford
Only refuted if you’re playing against people who can refute you playing it
Eric Rosen has refuted the refutation in several ways.
That video didn't mention the most critical line tho, so imo he didn't refute it
It’s extremely helpful to see how you play defensively, it doesn’t happen as often in your games but I think it’s the patient and ‘ugly’ moves that I have the hardest time finding. Thanks as always and please do more positions where you’re forced to play on the defensive!!
as an 1800 you cant imagine how incredibly proud i am to see the guy in the bongloud game making danya struggle,i havent been playing chess for too long but i'd like to think ive put a lot of effort in (helped by the legends danya, levy and eric) so seeing someone i'd consider of similar strength to myself playing so well against a gm,even if he did play the bongcloud i cant help but feel happy.thanks for this series and all you've done to improve our chess danya,i know you get comments like these on all of your videos and its for a reason, all of us really cant wait until the next one of these is out.By far the best chess teacher on yt as well as one of the most grounded and down to earth people imaginable
6:40, "Covid conscious move" A new level of chess vocabulary 😂
yessirrrr! almost fainted as no video yesterday! haha your speedrun series are more interesting than whatever im doing! 😁
hey Danya if you see this just know you help me get through my day idk why your videos bring me sm joy it’s so wholesome
16:16 I know he takes the feedback seriously, but.. Daniel also clearly seems to enjoy trolling. I hope some of his future projects can leverage that.
Your videos are one of the most instructive chess videos on UA-cam .Enjoy them a lot. 😀
They are the most instructive.
The greatest 2-opening combo in history
Daniel is humbly world-class. He played five games against Magnus a couple weeks ago and won 2 1/2.
Thanks again for the amazing content!
WOOO yeeaaa baby that's what we've been waiting for!
I love how he slips into a flawless Hikaru impression. Awesome video as always btw.
Hey Danya! I’m curious if you’ve seen Eric’s recent video on the G5 Stafford? He’s been calling it the refutation of the refutation of the Stafford, it may be a cool video to check it out, see what you think?
Hey Danya! For your next two gambit snuffing videos, two that I would really love to have confidence against are the Elephant and Latvian gambits. I love e4, and I love the feeling of having a Danya inspired line to help me go through the Stafford. So these two unsound gambits getting a line like that would be awesome. Also, thanks for all the amazing content you put out!
I honestly love and respect you so much for making this content. On the one hand, you are doing it for somewhat selfish (not bad) motivation of supplying your income, but on the other hand you could probably solely focus on chess professionally and commentating, and still be fine. It honestly makes me so happy seeing these amazing lessons from a grandmaster show up in my inbox, and thank you for everything that you do
Bongcloud rook lock tactic at 30:10, I’ve never seen a movement like this in chess before this. The knight looks like a lever to block a pawn and wedge it in the corner using a bishop which is controlling the center. Crazy
This is next level free chess lesson!
Best series on Yt rn!!!
holy shit you’re a legend
Bravo Mujo majstore!!!
Thank you GM Danya
The Stafford is the first game I’ve rooted against Daniel so far. 😂
34:49 This is an eternity. I agree, actually. Having played about 8k bullet games, having that amount of time is more than enough to win an endgame up a queen :D
that subtle Hikaru reference lmfao
What's the other openings do you recommend for 1000 rated player with black. I always play Stafford when e4 is played. Any recommendations please
4:48 I was tricked into getting up and checking if someone was knocking on my door.. LMAO
Daniel is always so proud of his Stafford video.
at 6:55 I really like rook f to b8 to simplify personally, with the queen a5 trap
I have blundered so many conversions in low time lol
Hey Danya, great videos. Start your timestamps at 0:00 so that they appear on the video itself ;) You can edit the description and try it live
0:44 what do you think about the move f3 here? I've tried it a lot and always get insane positions, I have big advantage but I always blunder
i thought about it for a while and thought that after Nxe4 white was just lost but then i go and realize im stupid and white has Qe2 and doesnt need to take on e4
so yeah,i generally dont like pushing f3 unless i have to but it might trick some people idk
The best crossover episode of all time.
Plays bongcloud
Danya - "I am making very sensible moves"
how much of this is transferable to no-castling chess, like Vlady Kramnik and Vishy Anand recently played?
Stafford gambit AND the bongcloud?! oh my lands
What an honor for Mujo Babajic getting to play against the mighty bongcloud and it's against gm sensei Danyaaa!
Anything with “gambit” in it immediately stresses me out
Queen's gambit is the worst
same here
It shouldn't!
Not all gambits are tricky and unsound, and giving up material temporarily for an advantage down the road is a necessary part of chess. For example, the Queen's Gambit is extremely solid at all levels, from beginner to advanced.
@@GMBethHarmon the queen's gambit isnt a real gambit tho, you're 95% of the time not gonna lose the c4 pawn and even if you do theres a lot of activity to show for it,my personal issue is that eventho i know when giving up a pawn for activity is the recommended or better option,i cant really capitalize on it bc im more of a slow positional player rather than a tactical one.Not saying this is in any way an arguement that gambits are bad and shouldnt be played,im just saying that its incredibly hard to be able to play them correctly(ignoring the theory aspect of openings, just assuming you play with no previous knowlege and just your own proficiency in the game guiding you)
@@trallegas6589 If you feel you're a positional player, you should give the Queen's Gambit another try - while it can become pretty tactical, it frequently leads to very positional games, especially when it's declined (Slav Defense, transposition into the Catalan, etc).
People only say the Queen's Gambit isn't a real gambit because of how solid it is (which just proves that not all gambits are made equal!). The pawn can be taken back by white within the next few moves (and if black refuses to give back the pawn, they will end up with a losing position, if white plays precisely). However, it's still a true gambit, because there are plenty of lines you can opt for as white where the pawn is genuinely sacrificed.
Even at a beginner level, the Queen's Gambit is one of the most popular d4 openings, because it's easy to play and very sound, unlike some other gambits. The Queen's Gambit shouldn't be thought of like the Stafford or the Elephant Gambit - it's one of the major openings for d4 as the Italian Game or the Ruy Lopez is for e4.
That's a Pyramid Danya !
2 games praise the prophet
Hey, will you be participating in Pogchamps 4 at all? As far as I can tell Charlie isn't in it, which is kind of a shame.
Thanks for your content!
“Classic right triangle chat” 😂😂
true, play whatever you like...garrychess played against anand with an evan's gambit (1995 tal memorial) and beat him in 25 moves. (i know he's a legend but the point is that even he indulged in gambits)
if you're interested in seeing kasparov on a few streams, check out chessbase india's channel where he has done a GM chess session with Sagar and a few comedians and he mentioned his love of gambits :)
That Hikaru impersonation had me laughing!
Nice
Lovely.
Eric Rosen squeals in delight
Hey Daniel long time fan here! Can you do videos where you explain some higher level chess concepts. Ive been really improving in chess lately and there is barely content for higher chess
Could you do modern defense / robatcht next?
4:58 it is actually isosceles right triangle, Danya
Jonathan Schrantz has a video on youtube getting a draw with blacks against Stockfish 8 with the line you recommend
A london video and a Stafford right after?? Eric Rosen is in shambles
That was an unexpectedly good hikaru impersonation
Look at Daniel man... so inspirational
The tapping finger triggered my anxiety 1000% 😋
Great video. More bongcloud please.
I looooove the my cousin Vinny bushes reference
Danya I'm not a subsriber on twitch, but I would still recommend that your reaction to getting gifted subs should not be edited out. It's not about discouraging others from giving gifted subs, but more about keeping the commentary appreciative and natural.
Great content as usual; I'm always pleasantly surprised this series isn't behind a paywall.
*Happy Eric rosen noises*
Gut
Nice :)
I am sure this upload makes IM Eric Rosen very happy!
Dan was really funny this video
Hey danya put 0:00 timestamps in the description to make it easy for the timestamps :)
Masterclass.
it's the impersonation's for me😂😂hikaru and garry
At 9:41 who is Danya talking about?
Me flirting with Daniel in character as Eric Rosen, "You're pretty wholesome yourself!"
Day 32 of saying you're the best danya. Love your content. These videos and your play is the highlight of my day. Again, thank you for working so hard to bring us quality- concise; and easy to understand chess content. much love. lol when you said 'push it, push it guuurl' I laughed so hard
Doesn't h3 effectively stymie the Stafford?
Look, chat! It's Hikaru @4:53
Glad I’m not the only one who noticed haha
"plexiglass... covid-conscious move" LOL!
At 2:40, can't white just play queen to f4? It blocks the attack on 3e, and seems to force a queen trade, doesn't this refute the attack?
I think "refutes the attack" is going a bit far - Black certainly has options to avoid the queen trade (the knight is defended from the bishop on c8). Not sure what the best continuation for black is, but I'm sure a computer analysis could tell you
@@fullfat8112 Oh yeah I don't know why I missed that the bishop still defends. Just checked it with the engine. Queen f4 is actually the move recommended by the engine (white has +2.2 after it, opposed to +1.3 in case the king moves to d2). After that stockfish recommends black to move the queen to b4, threatening to take b2. Then you get b3, qc5, and then the white king has to go to d2 to defend the e3 pawn. The engine still evaluates this line to be better than moving the king right away, I think because you force the queen to move to a much more passive square, avoiding some nasty tactics.
But yeah, this is all easy to conclude with stockfish in your hands :)
I thought the bongcloud was referring to the opponent moving the king in the first game 😂
6:56 epic🎉
Strike while the I-run is hot
1848 "okay serious players now"
me: *cries in lower than that number*
How do you recover from the bongcloud against an 1800?
Be a GM - Oh nice... no worries
3:30 he was worried about losing the e3 pawn in a queen trade? I don't get why he bongclouded.
I hope he plays the 4 pawn attack against the kings Indian or someone plays it against him or both, I've been playing it for fun, you hear clicks and clacks blitzing out the opening moves right up to e4 d6 and after f4 on move 5 the dead air while my opponent, I imagine, is asking themselves, wtf is this? It's always a great moment
now you should play the Grob, Danya
it would be nice if you play a kings gambit or evans gambit sometime 🙂🙂
Has Danya ever reviewed Jonathan Schrantz "magical line" against his Stafford refutation?
Don't know if he even knows about it tbh, judging from this and a few other vids. Would be curious to see his response.
@@tristanbass-krueger7195 I think he would be genuinely interested! Maybe someone should bring it up during a stream. :)
@@zozzozzzi i've been eagerly waiting for his response every time he mentions the c3 line. I know Nakamura took a look at it and found the refutation in like 2 seconds lol
