The stark contrast between Eric's calm demeanor and his excessively violent style of play is hilarious to me.
It’s quite great I will agree
“Ooh. There’s a funny line here” ~procedes to slaughter bloodlines with nothing but a pawn and bishop~
Yes! I was explaining this to my friend the other day
He developed this style for online content. He plays positional chess over the board
so true haha
It seriously feels like Eric is on a mission to prove that the Stafford Gambit is the best opening in chess
I thought the title was “Tilted Players” and was like, yeah, they probably were pretty tilted after that
Tilted Titled players
i read the same thing. tilted
Same lol I read tilted at first
Can we just call it the Rosen Gambit now?
Someone start a petition puhleeeeese I've literally been saying this for years and nobody's listened.
@@christopherthompson5400 you start it
@@christopherthompson5400 Be the change you want to be mate
@@cfilorvyls457 see*
The gambit itself should remain the same, to honour those who started it, but naming the g5 variation this could be interesting
"Two second podcast" delivered as a serious thought cracked me up.
Anand just saying his own name is pretty good as far as two-second podcasts go.
That FM on the first game probably quit chess after losing brutally like that
That game was extra disrespect
The ending combination was really interesting
The second game was more brutal.
Eric Rosen bullying people in chess is all I need
True
Fundamental chess principle: don’t let several of your pieces hang
*Eric when he sees a finally line* : No
*casually beats a 2500*
"That was a funny game"
That is one of the best games I've seen. I'm in love with this gambit
Or maybe Eric can change his name to Stafford?
The way he giggled lol like "im in danger" and wins 4 moves later
I just died laughing at Qg3.
Same
One could say that was a funny line
@@ahmedalghafri4339 good one
I saw it beforehand too. I was laughing before he played it. That first game was disgusting. All of Eric's pieces were hanging, but untouchable. All of his opponents appeared defended but weren't. Just nasty
The kind of move the opponent suddenly knows it is f*cked up before analyzing it:)
If you become a GM, you can identify yourself by saying, "Gee, am Rosen!"
Hi I'm GM IM Rosen
How do you say you are Rosen without saying you are Rosen:
Stafford Gambit time!!
**slurps tea**
Eric lost a few Stafford gambits recently, so I want to see analyses of them.
Longer
Love watching you man. I learn while watching you genuinely having fun. Cheers!!
i love how he just bodies titled players with this gambit.
Oh congrats on the 1/2Million subs BTW, didn't realize you'd hit it!
The first game was amazing! What incredible depths there are to the Stafford!
I love Rosen when he plays the Stafford. The “oh no my queen” is real
eric i just wanted to say you are an amazing person and your videos are so instructive, yesterday i won two very nice games using your tips against the karo kann :)
I've watched this game several times now and this is just literal art. It's so beautiful I may cry.
Buenas partidas!,gracias Eric por el vídeo.
I want to see Eric playing against the refutations, either h3 or d5 followed by e4. I've stopped playing the Stafford (and I'm very low level 1000-1100 elo blitz) because 95% of players now knows how to refute the gambit.
I get a lot of anxiety playing chess, but watching you has made it fun again !
I've been playing Stafford against players at my level (~1500) on Lichess recently and even though the main traps rarely work out, the opening is still off-putting enough for people that I usually end up winning. Even had one player complain about Eric Rosen in the chat while losing to my Stafford. I was like "if you know the trap, why are you losing to it?".
I have also got Eric Rosen comments in chat when playing stafford gambit 😄
the triple pin at the end was fantastic!
Love seeing Eric play Stafford
Thank you mr.rosen for rosen gambits ❤
Man those were some brutal beatdowns
"When it does, it's a nice way of enjoying life"
That is a really nice way of putting it
I like to see Eric's face light up when an official Stafford is declared.
Please more of this so I can expand my Stafford repertoire
As much as I love Eric's content, I am starting to get annoyed that everyone I play against on lichess now plays the Stafford constantly.
Play the bishops opening( e4 e5 bc4) problem solved🙂
@@nikamumladze8220 c4 is explosive
Or the Vienna (a bit more solid)
Most entertaining video I’ve seen in so long.
Maybe more prep for you, Idk...in game 2 after move 7 where you fork the queen and bishop and defend mate, White has only 4 "safe" squares for the queen: b3, c3, g3, and f4. Qh5 looks good at first, but after Black replies Qf6 defending the knight and adding protection to f7, the White queen can't hang around long as she is 2 moves from being trapped. First, the "quiet" h6, which prevents Bg5 as well, and then g6, when the White queen's only retreat is back into the "box" you trapped her in with Bg4...after which mate should be forcing again, I believe. Going back to the other 4 "safe" squares: f3 and g4 hang the bishop...so b3 or c3 seem to have been White's best moves in the game. Both remove the queen from the fork and protect the bishop. b3 forms a battery which, of course, Black can disassemble immediately by taking the bishop, or allow if they deem their own knight too valuable to trade in this position given all it does to attack White's king. c3 "threatens" the Black knight. In these cases, the White queen finds herself misplaced on the queenside of the board defending a minor piece away from the action. Hence, it would appear your opponent's attempt to Scholar's Mate you in response to your Stafford Gambit was ill advised all around.
That was a beautiful last game
IM NEVER GONNA GET ENOUGH OF ERIC'S STAFFORD AAAHHH
I unintentionally used this to beat my Star Wars Episode 1 electronic chess set years ago… that thing was vicious af 😂
Eric sounds so excited and lively
that Qg3 finish deserves a gold coin shower if ever a move did
I love this man
U nailed it when u put the title
Looks like Eric almost solved chess.
Now we need somebody to prove the Irish gambit to be sound.
Sorry for a noob question, but on your 8:th move, why didnt you go for Qd6 instead? Great videos, big fan. =)
Thx for your performance👍👍👍
IMRosen just becomes GMRosen which stands for Gambit Master Rosen
I love Stafford content on your Chanel sir
Great video Eric
Loved these thumbnails eric ❤️❤️
If/when you become a GM, I feel like you have to do a play on words with “Gee, I am Rosen.”
so many fun and funny lines.
A 2 second eric rosen podcast can ba good
I gotta say man, I just love the way you are
Way awesome, IM ROSEN
how good this guy is!!
That first game made me a Stafford believer
The thumbnail game is on point.
Consider capturing E3 Bishop with Queen on 11th move!
Could be aggresive sacrifice!
just a quick heads-up
you might need to recheck the description;)
What an awesome pair of games, I'm blown away, thanks Eric, you're a ledge ;) lol
Well played 👍
Video title idea (pun intended): making Titled players Tilted players with the Stafford
what software or website does he use?
also why not white to g3 at 3:03?
The Stafford gambit working for the Rams too.
I think Eric should create a course on the stafford gambit
The Stafford-Rosen Gambit.
The best lines are the funny ones.
"Oh no my queen"
Get it, grinder
that game 1 was brutal.
"This is a funny line"
**wins**
You are the king of the Stafford.
Eric be flexing his CC blitz rating 2600+
this man is a genius
What do you play in stafford gambit against 3. e5
I always watch Eric’s videos after a long day at school, it’s so calming

I used this opportunity to learn how to pronounce Vishy. I played that on 0.25 speed 10 times and it is still hard xD
The Stafford is unsound and it's not so hard to refute it. It's significantly less sound than the Boden-Kieseritzky in the 3 Knights game, which Morphy played a few times in the days before proper defensive theory was worked out. The ideas are similar.
Opera House mate(almost)
stafford is the ultimate way to play
In the first game opponent could’ve played Qe7+ and then bh2 obvs it’s very lost but not forced mate
Last one was beautiful
@2:15 He will have to start saying, "Gee, I am Eric Rosen".
Gee, ahem Rosen
3:10 he could have just simply move black queen to g1 and it was checkmate right? idk why he moved the pon instead
3:37
Game 1 was so disrespectful lol.
I was reading "tilted players" first XD
How to leave queen hanging in 20 different ways. 😂
you should add to your international master title another one "the stafford gambit master"
It's not GM Rosen.
It's GGM Rosen!
?
gg Master Rosen!
@@aquilesg.4859 gg Mr. Gandeldge!

This inspired me to play the Stafford gambit also..
This thumbnail shouldve been used for a Halloween video 😂
Very Nice Pony Tricks / Traps.. :D
Rosen Gambit
8:09 that was so cute
2:15 XD
took me a second to realize Eric’s playing on chess com because he’s playing in Titled Tuesday
“Here’s a funny line, this guy is fucked”
Incredible lines. Pins. What a way to dominate. Poor opponent.
