- In the far north of the British Isles is Inverness, the gateway to the Highlands of Scotland. It’s a small, quaint city built around the river Ness and full of church steeples with a castle looming on a hill over the old town. Colorful storefronts, cultured pubs, and winding streets give the city a small town charm, while the rolling hills surrounding the city beg you to explore the highlands further. This was my first stop on my tour through Scotland and here’s how it went…

Thanks! Inverness is pretty amazing!
@@thetravelingzam you're welcome
Enjoyed this tour!
Glad you enjoyed it! More to come!
I was always made to believe that Stirling was the gate way to the Highlands. I was born there in the central belt. 🏴🇦🇺
Very nice video of the city! I visited Inverness with my parents on holiday 20 years ago as part of a tour of the Highlands. I still miss this city and can't wait to come back.
I really want to go back too. Such a peaceful little town with incredible surroundings
Thank you so much for making all the videos and taking us to all over the world. I appreciate that a lot. Keep up good work. 👍👍

Hope your Scorland series to be a great as all other videos.❤
Than in a for watching! I’ll have about 5 videos coming out on Scotland
I lived in Inverness with my parents for a few years. Had to leave for work, unfortunately, but I absolutely loved my time there. Once i retire, that's where I'm moving to, if I live to that age 🙈.
It’s a lovely place!
it looks a wonderful place.
I miss here. I have stayed in Inverness in summer 1995 on the way to Loch Ness.
You have to return!
I loved your video. It really made me want to go to Inverness. I will go in August this year. Thank you so much.
Enjoy! It was a great little city
Me & my wife was here in November 2023...will be back November 2024...love it here..
I was there in October 2023. I would love to go back this fall as well. Very cozy
Hello! I went to inverness this month and I loved it. Did you know that the old church is for sale? And people were soooooo nice❤️ hope to get to Scotland again
No I had no idea. How much was it?
@@thetravelingzam it wasn't written the price, just the phone number and the agency which is selling it. I checked in the internet and the offer is 150000
Inversnecky full of Pubs Drugs Neds and Ferry Soup - Hellhole of a place!

Agreed, the locals are horrific.
Great Vlog Zam !!
Thanks for watching!!
Islands were flooded that day, river is not normally that fast, nice vlog.
Oh wow. It did seem to be moving fast
Inverness is not the gateway to the highlands …..it’s way up in the the highlands
For me I flew in there so it was my gateway lol
Would the gateway cities to the Highlands rather be Stirling in the West and Perth in the East ?
Maybe. But I flew in here so for me it was the gateway and I heard others refer to it as such.
Nice historii picturesc town ❤
Thanks for watching!!
Hi Zach, it's just a request pls just edit and post the second part of Lesotho. I will be very grateful to you.

Is there enough to see and do in Inverness for a couple of days ?
Over the past year and half, my wife and have had several short city breaks which have included London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, York and Liverpool, with three more repeat trips already planned for this year.
I am trying to think of somewhere new to visit, for late in the year, or even early 2025, hence this question. I’m thinking about a 2 day trip to Inverness, then 2 in Aberdeen. Both have direct trains from Newcastle on LNER, a company we rate highly.
Although my wife likes the shops, we both enjoy seeing new places of interest, such as museums, cathedrals etc.
With all the possible activities you can spend up to four days in Inverness and explore it and its surroundings.
@@adventurescotland Many thanks !
It's a smaller town, so not too much to do or see, but a nice launching point for more Highland adventures. A good stopover town in my opinion if you are heading north.
@@thetravelingzam Inverness is a city (one of only 7 in Scotland) and not a town. Also it has to offer more than people see when they arrive (and no, I don’t even life in Inverness - roughly 40 miles away from Inverness). It still depends on your interests and activities you are planning to do.
You absolutely ruined the cathedral with your forboding what pasted for music
Sorry you didn’t like it :/
NOT the most northern city in Scotland. 😂.
If not, which one is?
