Best way is to teach them young out in the yard moving vehicles around. Many people don't have anyone to teach them, nor do they live in the country where they can just go out on a backroad and learn.

If you all are ever worried about lowering down an engine to the engine stand, take the mounting plate, bolt it on and then pick up the stand, slide it on, insert your bolt and then lower the whole thing with the cherry picker.

I stopped him and showed him what I thought would be easier.... I took the plate off the stand and bolted it to the block, and as he was getting ready to lower it I stopped him. I gra bed the stand and slide it to the mounting plate and tightened the bolt on, stepped back and watched him smile from ear to ear. He looked at me and ssid," how long have you known this, and watch me struggle about a dozen times in the last decsde"? I told him ," you taught me! " He looked puzzled and I told him that it just appeared before my very eyes! He told me about a year ago that he told so many different people about it, and many being doubters were really surprised they never thought about it before.
351 Windsor are wonderful engines. These engines will bolt up to a 302 transmission if I am right. And I would love to see you put it in one of the Fairmonts.

A lot of the vehicles in the pick a part yards near me make you scratch your head as to why they're in there...then you realize, they're just old....got those manual windows, manual door locks, no bluetooth, no wireless charging, no selec-terrain AWD system, etc. People get rid of stuff because it ain't cool enough for them...nothing wrong with the vehicle, just not new enough/fancy enough for the spoiled teenagers.
Imagine ralphie starting channel and becoming one of the best in the space how cool would that be watch the process over the years being a second generation UA-camr pretty cool
Seeing Ralphie driving the Chevy pickup at 10 years old reminded me of myself at 8 years old driving my Dad's 1956 Chevy Panel truck at his Texaco Service Station in the late 1960's. I used to put a battery in it then fill it with gas at his pumps. Dad totally trusted me and told my Mom when she found out that I knew what I was doing !
351C's are excellent when they are all together and running great, but very expensive to find all the parts and create one. The 351W can make just as much power IF you get some good breathing heads. Parts are far more readily available.
I saw that kitty chasing Squezy! So cool! He is getting his exercise! Her too! Want to see more Kitties, especially those little babies! Getting Soooo Big! And now are escaping! Oh my! Have fun with them before they turn into that other guy…lol!
Lots of 302's, 351's, and usually a 460 or a couple where I'm at, but the limited knowledge I have about pulling engines/transmissions, I wouldn't waste my time trying in a pick a part yard.
I've been working at a body shop for a bit now and extra tips I learned was if you're painting the door, it's better to take off the mirror and belt molding (the trim at the bottom of the window) for a better paint job in the end. The mirror can get in the way, and if you're unlucky, the clear coat could stick in that gap between the door and the belt
There's 3-4 of them around my area, but kids aren't allowed....I kind of understand why, but at the same time, its a horrible thing when businesses don't allow kids...that's the time in their lives they need to be out in those yards learning about that stuff....and we wonder why this country is full of confused kids who don't know what they are...and by the time they're old enough to have a job, they don't know anything at all.

Great video guys, luv you all, u all have yr jobs and all work great as a family together, glad Ralphie got to go to the scrap yard, I used to love going to the scrap yard on a Saturday Sunday am with my dad getting stuff for his Granada and my mini, I remember going from as young as I was to walk lol 🤣 we loved looking rd for what we needed and guessing what had happened to some of the cars ie why they was scrapped lol 🤣 then coming home and working till lunchtime (pub 🍻 time) I used to luv weekends, I was definitely a daddy's girl, and he taught me so much about motors miss him. I had a 74 Mustang with a 302 that smoked like a chimney... Found a 351 Cleveland someone had put go fast money into it , and dropped it in ... Its was a great boost in performance & I raw dogged that motor for yrs ... She purred like a kitten when I sold it...
My first car was a 4 door grand torino my uncle bought it for me and it had the 351 windser. The problem was it ran great when it would run but other times while driving,it would act as if it ran out of gas nobody could figure it out so I ended up having to get rid of it and a few months later seen someone else driving it and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it but had it roughly running sounded like crap.I loved that car.
@@sleeperdude2690 You can even flip the intake 180° around so the throttle body would point the right direction for a RWD application. The ignition system is almost identical to the supercharged 3.8l. Same type of DIS and coil.

The 302's, 351's, 400's, 460's people are snagging as quick as they hit the pick a part lots....might not be for immediate use, but they're grabbing them up pretty quick and I don't blame them. If I knew more about pulling engines/transmissions I'd pull a few myself, and I have no clue why I don't build or rebuild vehicles LOL.

Josh just wanted you to know that I know how much you love wearing flip flops but I found out the hard way that if your driving and God forbid get in an accident if your car insurance finds out you were wearing flip flops they may not or will not pay your claim because they can say your flip flop came off your foot and jammed your brake or gas pedal down and caused the accident even though it may not had anything to do with it at all, keep up the good work I enjoy your videos alot

All sorts of stupid automotive stuff went on in our garage and driveway, and a kid who lived in the neighborhood liked to hang around with us. I dunno, I guess Davey was 10 or 12 years old at the time, and we had a Chevette engine we had just pulled out. "Can I have it?" Sure. A couple of minutes later, Davey shows up with a little red wagon, probably a Radio Flyer. We put the engine into the little red wagon, and Davey starts to wheel the thing back home. Somehow, the wagon broke... of course. And the engine ended up in the middle of a residential street in a nice suburb of Ottawa. It sat in the middle of the street for about two days; the city had fire trucks and a tow truck to remove it from the street. Davey is now David, a Mechanical Engineer who works at an Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario. (*cough* minivans *cough cough*). Ralphie reminds me a lot of Davey. They even look alike. I just came across a new ish youtuber rusty dent garage in Alabama. he is working on a 71 ish Mach 1. Super nice dude and a real hard worker. Both of his are 351C's are in rough shape. Hopefully he can be lucky like you folks.
You talked about getting a tractor with a loader. I think a better option for your automotive business would be an off-road forklift. Something with larger tires. I see lots in your area that are relatively inexpensive. Many need some work, but you can handle that.
My dad had a 81 mercury cougar with a 351W in it and he drove it hard and fast...never had anything go wrong with that engine or chassis matter of fact. Great find..looking forward to seeing you tear into it once Tosh gives ya the green light to do so😂👍🇺🇸🛠️🚜🔧
Nothing wrong with that engine raced one for 2 seasons. Flat top Pistons, 3 angle valve job, screw in studs, 2.02/1.60 valves put in it the thing would do 7,100 RPM's all day on a 5/8 mi oval with a 2 barrel and stock manifolds.😮

The exact same tire on my trailer goes flat. Mine definitely had a nail in it, and I’ve found the hole, I’m just too lazy to patch it lol Its a slow leak so I just air it up every time I use it
Yep we y'all need to see the inside of that engine fast. If you can't do that then atleast pull the spark plugs and tip it upside down to get any water out. Then fill the cylinders with oil or somthing. Hope it's not stuck. Shouldn't be stuck if they pulled it out and removed the torque convertor.
What you should be looking for is 351m, and Cleveland. The Windsor is an underpowered gas-guzzling turkey in comparison. That said I'm mainly a Chevy guy 😂 keep on keeping on and bring in the cool videos 👍✌️🇺🇲
Although the Cleveland heads have larger valves in them, the Windsor blocks are much better than those from Cleveland. I have a friend who had a Cleveland engine. It wasn't able to handle the increase in power. So, he needed to find another engine for it. I'm thinking that the car was a Mustang, although I'm not completely certain about it. I additionally have another friend who has an early 80s Mustang with a Windsor engine in it. A few years ago, it was producing nearly a thousand horsepower. After he changed from carburetor to fuel injection, it started producing approximately 1200.

Actually saw a Ford Taurus in one of the local pick a part yards yesterday that was the SHO....those engines were actually built by Yamaha for Ford.

It was a 2 door land yacht, lol. The next car they bought new afterwards was an '84 T-bird with a 3.8 V6 in charcoal gray.

My '71 Mach 1 had the 351 Cleveland, with a 3 speed on the floor. Bad assery on wheels right there. Miss that car

You talked about getting a tractor with a loader. I think a better option for your automotive business would be an off-road forklift. Something with larger tires. I see lots in your area that are relatively inexpensive. Many need some work, but you can handle that.

My dad had a 81 mercury cougar with a 351W in it and he drove it hard and fast...never had anything go wrong with that engine or chassis matter of fact. Great find..looking forward to seeing you tear into it once Tosh gives ya the green light to do so😂👍🇺🇸🛠️🚜🔧

Flat top Pistons, 3 angle valve job, screw in studs, 2.02/1.60 valves put in it the thing would do 7,100 RPM's all day on a 5/8 mi oval with a 2 barrel and stock manifolds.😮

Very cool. Last Ford engine I built was a 400 with 351C heads and flat top pistons. Put it in a 79 F250 4x4. It was a beast.

I’m not a Ford person but that 351W is a much better engine than the 5.0 I do agree with you on that I’m a Chevy and Dodge person but I do know alillie about it I wait to see you restore that engine I hope you go live with it

The exact same tire on my trailer goes flat. Mine definitely had a nail in it, and I’ve found the hole, I’m just too lazy to patch it lol Its a slow leak so I just air it up every time I use it

Yep we y'all need to see the inside of that engine fast. If you can't do that then atleast pull the spark plugs and tip it upside down to get any water out. Then fill the cylinders with oil or somthing. Hope it's not stuck. Shouldn't be stuck if they pulled it out and removed the torque convertor.

What you should be looking for is 351m, and Cleveland. The Windsor is an underpowered gas-guzzling turkey in comparison. That said I'm mainly a Chevy guy 😂 keep on keeping on and bring in the cool videos 👍✌️🇺🇲

Although the Cleveland heads have larger valves in them, the Windsor blocks are much better than those from Cleveland. I have a friend who had a Cleveland engine. It wasn't able to handle the increase in power. So, he needed to find another engine for it. I'm thinking that the car was a Mustang, although I'm not completely certain about it. I additionally have another friend who has an early 80s Mustang with a Windsor engine in it. A few years ago, it was producing nearly a thousand horsepower. After he changed from carburetor to fuel injection, it started producing approximately 1200.
