That's a bummer, but you're an honest dude to your buyers and you thoroughly check and inspect what you flip. Having a good reputation for being honest is priceless. When we get hit with setbacks like that it's a learning experience that'll cost a few bucks but can be replaced unlike an honest seller rep. I got to construct a test setup like you have there. Thanks for sharing your experience, this channel is a valuable learning tool for me

Go a little above the cheapest you can find.
I found out on my own skin that those who sell the cheapest usually sell non-working items.

I maybe would have tried spraying down the entire slot connector, especially those caked up resistors (capacitors?) above the contacts, with some brake parts cleaner. It dries so quickly that it would leave no evidence, except some very clean contacts. Maybe the soda was shorting out those resistors? Even some rubbing alcohol and a small paint brush across the resistor bank might do.

@@elmerduncan4932 It's good stuff! Just be sure to spray it outside or it can make you sick! I should know.....🙄
Also, give it some time to dry thoroughly as there will probably be a lot of condensation on the parts because the spray is extremely cold out of the can and be careful around some plastic parts just in case. Happy New Year by the way! 👍👍

I picked up a rusty Sapphire RX 470 mining card for 35 USD last year with it being untested. No rust/corrosion or liquid spill on the PCB itself which let me know it was likely kept in a poorly climate controlled environment. Only thing functionally wrong was one bad vBIOS chip, the other three vBIOS chips worked and I flashed the Sapphire Gaming RX 470, 570, and 580 vBIOS on them.
Got it running at 1411MHz on the core and 1750MHz on the memory, it likes masochism I guess! 🤣

Bummer. At least with eBay now-a-days, it's pretty easy to get your money back and sellers know that so they usually just comply without hesitation to avoid bad feedback. Good luck in your next try!

I think I ended up buying this same card after you sent it back, I received it exactly like it is in the video but in a different box but still in the cyberpower bag. I cleaned it thoroughly with alcohol and distilled water and it does post now but it has artifacting from the A memory modules and needs to be repaired but that's not something I can do.
I paid $28 all together for the card.

I had the same problem with my Sapphire Nitro+ RX580. I got a riser cable and 3D printed some stands to mount it outside the case, but I think that I may eventually just mod the case to make it fit...maybe. 🤔

A good seller would clean the card and it might've worked. A bad seller would sell it filthy to deny refund if the one who buys it should attempt to clean it. Hope the next guy who gets it won't do it.

0:35 I also need to attend this help group.
7:17 Code 43 is typically busted GPU, I’m surprised you got the driver to install like you said. It may or may not be related to the soda spilt on it but it’s likely that the GPU on the card is dead. The only solutions I can come up with are cleaning the card in an ultrasonic cleaner then if that doesn’t work reflowing the GPU chip.

    Get the refund.
But first - talk to seller.
    Ok.
Posted before the end cleared the refund resived.
But - do you have to ship it back???
And, about that warranty sticker- if it's under warranty, try to talk to support of this card's maker, maybe you would be able to claim that warranty!!!
    Anyway,keyus posted.
