  • This "Whats in the box" video shows the new 2023 production 'Retro' 4x20 optic from Colt's Manufacturing Company LLC and Brownells, Inc.
The production quality is great, and the glass is crystal clear. I highly recommend this for someone who wants the iconic retro look of the Colt carry handle optic but doesn't want to pay collector prices for an original.
If you are a collector and have the original version of the Colt optic, this would be a great companion piece in your collection.

Glad to see these Colt-branded optics being sold by Brownell again. As a collector of Colt material, I really appreciate the price point and availability to the AR-15 community.

Hello and thank you for this video. Can you please shed some light on what other calibers the scope can be used for? For instance, 357 Magnum 38 special maybe even 9 mm pistol carbine so on and so forth. Thanks again

TBH; Brownells retro line products are a great idea and their fidelity towards the original product and everything that came with it makes it even better.

The two companies working together is definitely a powerhouse. I was glad to see Colt involved and it becoming a Colt product this time.

It is worth noting that Brownells has been selling this as the in-house "Retro" scope for years, the Colt branding is the only new thing about it

Brownells has stated that this optic release has better glass, lens coatings, and materials than their previous 'Retro' line release. That accounts for the higher price.
Obviously, some may not care about the improvements or Colt branding.

@@thecoltar15resource it’s the same ad copy they used for the Retro as near as I can tell, it’s not totally clear if they mean their Retro scope or the OG Colt

@tigerboy231 I agree that it is possibly the same form. If you look at the one I show in the video, they added the Colt logo information to it.

That said I have a retro and I do really like it, even if it's not changed I'm not super upset with the price point given inflation and the Colt branding. Was planning on getting one

@tigerboy231 I agree. A lot of a potential buyers personal branding preference will probably be the deciding factor most. The original Brownells 'Retro' offerings were a good option at the time that they were available.

That's the exact same 4x scope that Brownell's sold as their Retro scope only now its Colt branded for $100 more. I knew something was up when Brownell's discontinued their Retro 4x scope without notice then quietly began selling the EXACT same scope with the Colt logo. Luckily I was able to buy two Retro 4x scopes before they were discontinued and saved $200.

Supposedly the Colt version has better glass and coatings but can't validate that 100%.

I love this historic OG optic.lm hoping that Colt will bring back their retro line guns at a lower price point to keep up with H&R. I've seen a couple of the Colt retro guns up close and they looked amazing.

400 dollars? Looks like the quality of some no-name scope purchased from a junk retailer. $49.95 sounds more like it.
