I've always thought that seeing what people play at high-level events is so cool since it can make things that you hadn't even thought of come to you, or more recent innovations on some fan favourite decks. A few examples from this video are the PSY-Frame engine that I never would've thought about people playing with only 1 Gamma, that one crazy Salamangreat (Salad best deck) player turboing out Pyro Phoenix of all things, but also Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale in Snake-Eye for the Tenpai matchup. Just, brilliant.
YCS Brazil had fewer people this year because he had big natural problems in the south and there was a madonna consert in rio in the same weekend, so air tickets and hotels were so expensive that most players couldnt travel to rio
I was at the Kissimmee regional. It was my first one. I actually saw a decent number of Salamangreat at the event, although I didn't play against it personally.
I had zero idea there was a YCS over the weekend.
I enjoyed Pokemon Regional: Indianapolis though!
What's up with Konami's last weekend? I waited for the YCS Brazil livestream the whole time here and nothing was on, so I watched Pokemon Regional for the first time.
You didn't miss anything. Pokemon is better than anyone at putting on events, even magic. Pokemon also takes some brain power at this level, so you get to watch actual talented people work 😂
@@TheArctus The Top 8 was INSANE. I thought the Restricted would cause games to be very one sided, but the players SHINED with their skill expression. Much more exciting than I thought it'd be!

One of the biggest reasons for lack of diversity in Brazil is lack of card support… we get our konami products late and when we do they are price gauged… at locals you get a lot of diversity due to budget reasons but rarely those diverse deck top and it’s usually the one top player with the top deck of the moment taking all the prizes. Brazil’s meta to my experience is always 1x format behind from the US. So the result you’re seeing from YCS rio is what you saw last month in the US where snake eyes took up all the slots.

Here in Brazil it is kinda hard to make a big Yugioh event because a top deck costs us around 5 to 7 months of salary

Not True. We always get 1k+ or 800+ people events, this time we had big issues in the south with Rain issues and madonna had a consert in the same weekend, so air tickets ans hotels were Hard and expensive to get

@@Impaanic we can both be wrong here. The floods didnt stop those hundreds of people attending the event (though it cut dozens of players from RS certainly), and the decks may not be 7 salaries because I just threw a number out of my head. But I can assure you a full Snake-Eyes deck stands for 6.500 reais and the minimum wage is around 1.400 reais/month. It is still a major factor.
@@sebastianlacerda yea, didnt realise that SE deck was 6.5k, bought and sold mine for 4.5k+-. But yea the flood wasnt that impactful in the player números, but madonna... i coudnt even find plane tickets and hotels to go to rio
I just am looking for advice for what feels like a Triangle format at my locals. No one is playing Snake-eye, because the top 3 decks are, Yubel with 5 people playing it all of them having Nightmare Thrones, Tenpai with 2 people on it having Trident Dragion's, but the current undefeated in 2 weeks is a single Runick Stun player.
I have no idea what to play since I'm on a budget, and the deck I invested in feels more like a fun deck against those 3 decks, I have Vanquish soul and Illusion Chimera, but they just can't break through all the decks in the path. And I can't figure out a deck that could beat all 3

Blader negates all dragons on field and puts em in defense to pierce battle damage

Honorable mention should go the the HERO player who barely missed top 32 at YCS Rio (he got 33rd)
Also another flood gate card is Royal prison/ jail it completely lock’s your opponent out the grave yard witch is really insane

Fire King Snake-Eye is the only deck I consider explosive and resilient enough to be a tier 0 deck. Pure Snake-Eyes is cool but built right and played right Fire King can end on way more negates and other interruptions and isn't as driven by non-engine as Snake-Eyes is. This means you have a higher chance of winning than if you let half your decks power come from the heart of the cards. Fire King Snake-Eye can still perform the combo that makes Eternity a interruption and start off by making Photon Lord by detaching Garunix abd making use of Kirins hand effect. Wow a version of Snake-Eye thats immune to Nibiru and can special summon Rangballi to create similar scenarios as with Baronne and Savage Dragon. Realistically I feel like there was powerful an consistent decks people were sleeping on because they were powerful and consistent but a good deal of them where old and people wanted to play the new stuff. I don't think we were in a tier 0 format in the first place. I've got a 90% win rate against them playing the Fusion Duplication Variant of a 40 card Branded deck that can have up to 15 non-engine because 9 times out of 10 your opponent isn't go to have 2 Ash Blossom for yours and their turn. I haven't been using Gimmick Puppet or Winda. I've just been winning of the decks raw power and my experience. Something that I've noticed people doing incorrect is a 1 of Ecclesia and Fleurdelis is a must have. It makes Dusk Dragon worth 2 hand traps and a lot of people underestimate the impact of Dusk Dragons first effect and doesn't negate it. If you already Ecclesia you can send Rindbrumm to grave and another thats been real clutch for me is Dramaturge. The extra negate and the fact that I can use it and Dusk Dragon during my opponents turn to make more fusions with Cartesia including cards like Dragostapelia is huge. This idea that all bricks are bad because it increases the chances of not being able to play is false. Some times those bricks are powerful enough that having to little a amount of bricks can be a bad thing. You don't want to use the whole kitchen sink but Yugioh isn't that cut and dry. People can find a lot of videos but a lot of it you have to do yourself. I would bet that more than half of the worlds past tournament finalist net decked and played the deck without any intent to make the deck better themselves because it would taken the extra time and effort to understand what they like and dislike about it and improve it.

i dont think its about the amount of people...its about the quality of the competition....if you take the best players playing the best deck, snake-eye wins...thats what makes it tier 0

You touched on it a little bit but I really wanted you to go into more in depth. These south American ycs's are straight up a free top! That's why people from North America travel to them. The locals can't get cards whether it's because they can't afford them or the country just straight up doesn't have them. That's why I don't count these types of ycs's as things we should take data from

People in the south of Brazil are dealing with the worst natural disaster since the 20's, the airports are closed and cities are literally underwater. Even tho the events in Brazil are not that big, a lot of players did not travel because of the floods in the south.
