- Differently than the trailer for the first movie, I actually enjoy the theatrical trailer for "Returns". But I figured since I re-made the first, might as well do this too. It turned out OK. Check the trailer for the first Batman at my profile.

still the best batman movie of all time!!!!! amazing movie, the special effects, costumes, make up, actors, brilliant...
+outlawboy88 Agreed.
Batman Returns Release Date: 1992 VS Release Date: On Remastered Is February 25 2012
I actually liked this movie more than Batman Begins. But anyway for me this has always been a great fun movie to watch around the holiday season. I can't wait to bring this out in a few weeks.
A lot of people complained that this movie was too dark, but I loved it like that. Loved Michelle as Catwoman, the Penguin was one twisted fuck, the Batman was the Batman as always, and it introduced me to Christopher Walken. It's in my Top 20 favorite movies.
Took the words right out of my mouth
+ThunderSooner2835II Yes this is my favorite Batman movie period.
Imagine a Tim Burton Scarecrow movie? That would have been awesome.
They should know that comic books are also dark as well. Batman is a dark character and so are his adversaries!
Bradley Juby oh I prefer this one over the first Batman. The first one was good, but if you where to tell me “Tim Burton’s Batman”, THIS is definitely that.
I want this kind of Batman back. Similar to Burton movies and Arkham games. Twisted, over the top.
"Youre just jealous because I'm a genuine freak and YOU HAVE TO WEAR A MASK!!!"
Tim Burton's movies often offer commentary about being a "freak", this was just perfect.
Top 8 From Batman from worse to best.
8. Batman and Robin 1/10
7. Batman Forever 5/10
6. Batman 60's 8/10
5. Batman Begins 8.5/10
4. The Dark Knight Rises 9/10
3. The Dark Knight 9.5/10
2. Batman Returns 10/10
1. Batman 1989 10/10
I remember how The Penguin used to scare me. Good times.
When I was a kid I couldn’t eat food and watch this movie because I was too grossed out by the scene with him eating the fish.
25 years later, hasn’t changed.. great villain.
Wow, I used to LOVE Batman Returns when I was a kid and it's still an amazing movie today. All the performances are spot-on, it's dark, gothic, and it looks so cool. Every shot it like a gorgeous painting. It's definitely more of a Tim Burton film than a direct Batman interpretation, but the way he presented the Penguin and Catwoman was fascinating and totally unique. The last great Bat-movie before Begins, obviously.
This movie is amazing.
this is an awesome movie! my fav. of the batman series with the dark knight
keaton and bale played batman the best. I cant wait for the new one to come out
Damn!! 1:39 When the climatic music from the first movie kicks in... and then you hear Selina Kyle's voice, "all good girls go to Heaven"... Awesome!!
freaking AWESOME trailer!!! :-D
GREAT AND AWESOME job! :-D
for me this movie never gets old. i love it
Better Batman movie than Batman Forever and Batman & Robin
"You don't really think you'll win do you?"
"Things Change"
This is an awful trailer. I can't even tell you which part to fix, because it's all just so terrible. I'm only telling for constructive criticism. I'm not trying to be a dick. But real talk.
The Batman emblem clearing from the snow always gets me hyped.
I remember owning the VHS of this film in the early 2000's and watching this, looking back at this in 2023 and i definitely didn't understand some of the stuff said back then 😂
The animated series was fantastic, keeping Burton's distinctive mood alive, while expanding in it's own directions. It didn't tone itself down for the kids either, staying dark and brooding. Batman Beyond was also amazing. Being played as more of a show for teens, it got a TV-PG and managed to be even edgier than it's predecessor. It had good stories, lots of action, and a cool cyberpunk atmosphere. None of the subsequent animated shows have managed to surpass these two. As for Nolan... (cont.)
i watch batman 1,2 and 3 every year at christmas days . just fit so good
The very first Batman movie I ever watch!
i still got this on VHS i grew up with this movie good old days
I remember watching this as a kid and I still love it.
OMG!I remember this film,but I was young.
This clasic batman film is alright!
Thank's for the great childhood memories!
the bat sign in the snow is so cool, to this day. love this trailer , great movie
Danny Devito is just one of those perfect villains!
i dont care what anyone says about the tim burton batman series, but those will always be the best cause they had such a batman-esque feel to it, the city, the scenery, the statues on top of the buildings, and the music!
The snow and the Batmovil makes the movie really special ¡¡
"Dark, Exotic, Mysterious" That's the only way to describe this movie. Destined to be classic.
Batman Returns is awesome.. Batman Returns and the first one are my favorites. I've been a fan of Batman for a long time.. I think the new ones are good too.. but I just miss how the movies were back then..
My all time favourite Batman movie. It's just perfect.
Pfeiffer was captivating in this, the way she played the dual personalities was just seamless. If anything, I wish she got even more screentime
One of the very best batman movies ever with a amazing cast too 😍
"all good girls go to heaven..."
haha the way she says that cracks me up.
i love theme at the end of the trailer..it's the same that come at the end of the first part where bats stands on the top of the clocktower and just looks up to the batsymbol...epic
Damn that music at the end sends chills up my spine.
If you have a Hastings store or a Hastings near you, you could pick up a copy of the two-disc editions for both movies. They are only about $15 and are factory sealed. They are the cheapest you can get the movies, since they are out of print.
Penguin is more of a guy that Burton can work with, Nolan sticks to the more realistic guys. Also, he did a hell of a job with Catwoman by having visible stitches on her suit, awesome!
I remember I was 12 when this came out and my mom wouldn't let me see this because of the Catwoman scenes. So that made want to see it even more, so I snuck in the theater and it was awesome!
i love what the penguin says @ 1:45, and the bat cape @ 1:55
I grew up with this Batman and it was the main reason that Batman is my favorite hero , Oh and for the guys who are bagging Tim Burton about his Batman movies , Burton never stuffed up Batman , Joel Schumacher did , just like he stuffed up The Phantom Of The Opera
Batman fan for life
it's not just you, Danny devito to this movie was heath ledger to the dark knight, you thought because of his previous roles he'd fail but he was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT and in this case a tragic villain
Burton's win with the design and the gothic gotham atmosphere. Nolan's win with the psychological thriller. I love their works very much. really really glad both made Batman movie.
amen! i was pissed off for weeks after getting the box set (of all 4 on dvd) and turn out only to watch two out of the four again and again
Batman 1989 and Batman 1992 are the best batman movies ever ! =) Mostly because i grew up watching them :D
But it's the reason for his vengeance that makes it interesting. How he feels like an outsider and even tries to fit in at one point. He's such a twisted and confused character, he actually probably doesn't even know what he truly wants.
the penguin here has to be one of the most terrifying batman villains in film ever.
Its just so weird and creepy.
wardfolio, i completely agree with you. these
burton movies are being forgotten by this
new generation. let's not forget these 2
fine batman movies.
Everybody has their own opinion, nothing is better than anything else, it's all about opinions. My favourite Batman is Michael Keaton and this is my favourite Batman movie. I love the dark atmosphere of it all, and I love how badass Batman actually his. We can actually relate to Michael Keaton's Batman too in my opinion. To me, this is a perfect Batman film and a perfect Batman, he's a gritty, quiet in the shadows sort of man. In my opinion, this is Batman! Love it.
for everyone ones whos commenting saying HOW BAD IT IS or that you HATE THIS FILM then why are you watching the trailer.........
I first saw this movie when I was 14. I watched it again and it has a timeless feeling. The music, performances in special De Vito. Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman is dead on. She is sexy and the perfect for that role. One of my favorite movies of all time. Danny Elfman score is brilliant. Why he has not won an Oscar for his extraordinary film scores is beyond me.
Watching this rite now, it just came on tv on Xfinity on AMC at 10p.m. Central Time.
Danny DEVITO MUST PLAY PENGUIN AGAIN IN ANOTHER BATMAN MOVIE!!! He did a superb job, the man will be unrivaled in history for playing that character !
Ah this brings back memories!!!
Batman '89 and Batman Returns was Burton/Keaton. Schumacher took over with Forever and Keaton was replaced by Val Kilmer. Keaton was asked to return, but declined when Schumacher took over. Keaton had a fall out with him a few years before(as reported on E.W.) The original plan was for Keaton to return with Robin Williams as the Riddler and Billy Dee Williams to return as Harvey Dent/Two Face. O'Donnell was already cast as Robin. The older Robin was to work with the older Keaton.
This is hands down the best Batman movie ever made!
People wanna talk and say TDK is the best and darkest Batman movie there is, but I disagree. Not only was this the darkest Batman film of all time (seriously, back in the day, people said it was too dark), but it's the best Batman movie of all time. Not to mention it's a classic Christmas flick. This movie is everything wonderful rolled up in one morbid, darkly amazing package
This is more similar to what you would expect in a Burton film. Batman looks like your average 90's/80's comic book movies, this took on more of the creepiness and darkness that Burton likes to add to his films.
A lot of people prefer the first Batman movie but Batman Returns has always been my favorite Batman movie with Michael Keaton :)
This is my favourite christmas movie!
Good special effects, good cast, good story, okay screenplay 7 out of 10 stars.
Alot of people seemed turned off the Batman Returns, mainly because it was so much darker than the other Burton Batman movie. Burton had more control in this film than he did in the first Batman so he put a bit more of his own dark gothic style in this movie.
This movie was GREAT!, The first two were the best!!!
fair enough, but i think we can both agree that the batmobile in this movie is amazing
I don't believe The Dark Knight was overrated. There were lots of tense moments in that movie, with all the tests the Joker put people through, the insanity of the Joker in a more creepy way, the psycotic breakdown of Harvey Dent, the way Batman snatches the bank owner up, lol. Begins is every bit as good as Knight. I loved watching Bruce's training as a raw fighter, instead of the simple Burton explanation of, "Yeah, he saw a bat. BATman. Get it? It automatically taught him to fight."
michelle pfeiffers performance in this movie was so so so good! Shes a true actress.
Christopher Nolan did an interview with People Magazine and they asked him if he was planning on doing another Batman movie after "The Dark Knight". He said he was on the edge of whether to do that or not because of the whole Heath Ledger thing (what that has to do with anything, i do not know), but he said he's considering making one with Aaron Eckhart [No Reservations, The Dark Knight] as Two-Face, and Naomi Watts (King Kong] as Catwoman. Should be interesting......
Actually, Penguin already knew who his parents were from the start. He used that as a front to be able to get the names of Gotham's first-born.
I think there's more of a parallel between Penguin the outsider and Batman the outsider, and how both try to mask themselves in being a part of the Gotham socialite- Bruce Wayne the millionaire and Oswald Cobblepot the mayor elect. And we can even go as far to look at them as reflections of Burton himself, and how he views his own outsider status.
This movie along with the orginal Batman and the Nolan films are the BEST films of the franchise
Ultimately I would say Nolan's batman movies in today's world are the best (in my opinion) However Burton's batman is still really enjoyable and I respect the fact that he didn't set out to make just a batman movie but a Tim Burton movie. As good as the Nolan movies are, Batman Returns will always have a special place in my heart.
Tim Burton was a great Batman director, coz he brought a new edge to the characters and Gotham itself. He made his own continuity that didn't bend over to the comic book geeks, and he should be respected for that.
Schumacher tried to impress all Batman fans too much. He tried to introduce elements from the comic book series, keep similar tones of the Burton films, camp it up to win back the 60s fans, and to allow children to see it at the pictures (like we wouldn't have saw it at home anyway..)
The theme is the villain trying to find out who his parents were which reflects to Bruce/Batman and how a company can make an assistant go mad with all the work and stress from a boss who's a complete ass. There's a little more to the theme, but those are the main themes.
best batman movie! and the music in this movie is wonderfull!
my favorite Batman movie , it has a unique dark atmosphere , one of my childhood memories :)
The first two Batman movies of the original four are without doubt the BEST. For me they're on a par with the new two story wise, but visually a lot higher.
Well the ending finale score was supposed to be exclusive only to the ending of the first film, and if you ask me it fit. the majority of the scores had a darker tone except for the finale.
Thanks for saving the day batman!
Best Batman movie ever!
burton nailed the relationship between batman and catwoman.
so me laughing means im angry lol, dude you guys are seriously comedic god haha
There's actually a lot of deep stuff in the storyline of The Dark Knight that you missed, in this movie I understood everything the first time, seen it once seen it all, easy to understand. Every time I watch The Dark Knight, there's always something new. I have watched Batman Returns a few times, analyzed the scenes, nothing new. The reflections the villains have with Batman does go a little deep but it was still rather clear.
The Batmobile in the first two movies was the best. Long, sleek, fast looking... Ever since, they've managed to make it look like a kids toy and then an army vehicle. I've always been disappointed with what they did with the batmobile after the first two movies. I think Tim Burton did a fantastic job as director and he should be credited with the overall success of the batman movies. If the first two movies weren't so good, they wouldn't have made it as far as they are now.
I think the music in this was the best so far.
best batman movie
i watched this like 20 times on my vhs tape when i was small.. and lion king and space jam.
@KevsHardLemonade He usually sticks to the same Danny Elfman soundtrack, the same twisted fantasy set designs, almost the same actors. He sticks to what he is comfortable with. Like I said, I'm not biased towards Burton's Bat movies and even if I said I preferred them, which I don't, it's only my opinion.
This film is great i think, often overlooked in the Batman franchise
This has always been my favorite Batman movie. The Burton Batman films are much better than today's new stuff. I didn't mind The Dark Knight too much because it was a major improvement over the first film, but still it doesn't have the same feel.
THIS IS THE ULTIMATE BATMAN MOVIE!!!
pretty cool batman returns 1992 trailer !!!
Tim Burtons Batman movies take a more traditional approach to batman, but do dose great job of handling the themes and characters and dose so in an epically awesome fashion!
In my opinion this is the best Batman movie ever.
Still one of my favorite batman films.
I agree totally with you, it is getting soooooo tiring listening to people comparing the old ones as far superior to nolans batman. I like the old ones but I prefer nolans version, its excellent how he got the comic book character in a realistic world.
I dont understand why people dont like nolan batman!!
i have to admit this film probably has the best Batman suit, closely followed by the Batman Begins suit, can't really make my mind up. We'll have to wait for The Dark Knight, that is going to own all Batman films, seriously
agreed it was all about the darkness thats what made these movies so good !
My favorite movie... 1992.. like yesterday....
Batman Returns = for me, the greatest Batman movie. Everything after that, I dunno. I just felt that the later Batman movies were just felt like they tried to hard to impress with cheesy special effects and one-liners.
Except for the Dark Knight. That movie was OUTSTANDING and on par with this one IMO...RIP Heath Ledger.
favorite trio ever!!!!!! michael keaton-tim burton-danny elfman
