Traditionally in Mexico, I was always taught to never use metal to cut the button at ground level, always use a string, say a prayer, and leave an offering or some kind of trinket. Viva los wixaritari!

This guy failed to point out that the root does not contain mescaline or any of the 50 alkaloids that make the cacti psychoactive. So anything from below the green part is useless to harvest anyways. By cutting just above the bottom of the green part, leaving only a little bit of the green part behind, practically nothing is lost to the harvester but it makes all the difference for the cactus as it will absolutely be able to survive and grow new pups this way. I think this was a very important detail left out of this video because people tend to be selfish if they think they will 'lessen their harvest' by not taking the root with them as well. Otherwise good video. I have never harvested this cactus from the wild, but I have a large collection of this and other cacti that I have mostly grown from seed as a hobby.

Good point, well made. People aren't only selfish, they're also careless and stupid, which is why WASF... however, there is also the fact that Peyote is a master teacher medicine spirit and I'm sure than mistreating the cactus will ensure some reciprocation.

I personally think mescaline is a better option for PTSD therapy than MDMA. That is because mescaline does not seem to have the neurotoxic effects that MDMA has. The only drawback is the experience lasts twice as long, so therapists have to be onsite longer. This might not be a bad thing as it provides more time for someone to work through their issues. This plant should be completely legal to grow at home in the US or anywhere. It is here for a reason.

I love mescaline/peyote. Took it many years ago for four days in the Texas desert with dear friends. We danced under the moon to The Doors and Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd, forming a ring around a desert bonfire. We cried, we laughed, we howled, we danced, we sang, and several of us made love with our significant others. We watched as comets danced across the sky in a meteor shower for the ages, in a juxtaposition of sky both awe inspiring and terrifying in it’s vastness and timelessness. Four days of every emotion possible and sensation possible. So much of our souls laid bare. It revealed the revelation. A secret knowledge that only we shared and no one else could ever understand. Most of them have passed on now (I’m older than I look-44 now, 43 in my picture-and many of my friends were much older than me-but many succumbed later to overdoses or bad addictions with drugs/alcohol I never partook in, I was always an all natural girl and did not use addictive drugs or chemicals and rarely have alcohol even now). But the healing, soul lifting, transformative energy, friendship, love and togetherness we shared in those times long past now will live in my heart forever. Four days when everything and anything seemed possible, and all of us still had all the time in the world. I will never forget the friends that peopled my youth. Any of them. I miss them. I’m glad we had the times we had. I lived when I was young, truly lived, and have no regrets. How many people can really say that? I know I’m one of the lucky ones. ☮️❤️😄

well in texas the only place where it grows wild outside of mexico (cant speak for mexico idk their laws) it is illegal to posses unless you are genetically 1/4 american indian and a member of the religious group that uses it (or a licensed grower who may only sell to aforementioned group) so your average joe in south texas would risk more by having a peyote plant growing in their house than to just walk to a place they know it grows and grab a piece to use soon.

nice video! some advice if you or your viewers can help? l have had my Peyote - L.W for 26 years & 3 years ago it started to produce pups which was a very unusual thing to see it pushing through the skin, it looked like a scene from the film Alien 😂 (They are quite big now) & it's does produces seeds & l have tried to grow from seeds to pass on to my friends but am struggling to get them propagated & to survive once propagated (but will perceiver) My question was - if you could tell me: if l cut off a pup to pass onto a friend will a new pup appear where l cut one off? if so any advice on how to do it, & how to pot it on? or a link showing it? Many thanks! Also as its being lost in its natural habitat maybe you could ask growers to send you seeds for them to be grown & returned to the wild? l would as mine does 😉

However years later I had a shocking experience as an electrician and realized the fire i saw in the sky was earths magnetic fields interacting with the suns rays but it can only be seen if eyes are fixed and dialed while still alive. Hence my saying walking in death while still alive, thats exactly what its like. Ive allways vowed to go back and find my Indian friends. Hello, I used a metro-mix 360 seed starter (I added a little extra vermiculite), also sterilized the mix further in the microwave for a few minutes. Meanwhile, the seeds were soaked overnight and placed each seed in the mix using a test tube plastic tray holder (mini flat) with a drainage hole in the bottom of each cell with the damp (not soaking wet) seed starting mix. The seeded trays then placed in a clear glad tupper ware like container with a lid and a small fruit cup container with water to help maintain the humidity until germination. cracked the lid open later a few weeks after germ and to let acclimate , (while on a heated germination mat). I have used this method with Echinopsis pachanoi, and several varieties in the last couple years with about 50/50 rates as well as barrel cac seed, (not so well with other stone cac varieties). Not sure what I'm doing wrong here, and it is difficult to get seed, but hope to try again ?

Well, if one of your friends is a registered member of the native American church they would be able to propagate then legally, but if your not registered then your only options are less than legal.

WARNING! The guy in the video doesn't know anything about cacti at all. The plant is only able to grow pups when there's areoles left that are still in an active growing spot of the cactus. The areole is basically the white dot where the fluffy stuff comes out. From an areole both pups and flowers can grow. The idiot in the video cut all of the green part off the plant so no areole was left where it could regrow. And btw never ever cut plants from the wild otherwise you want to push the extinction of these beautiful plants even further. Greets from Germany, Keep it growing✌️

Lophophora's have areoles in their subterranean stems too, that's where most of the lophophora's pups spring up to. They are very tuberous and the pups always emerge from the ground and not the from the actual tuffs themselves

You must consume a good 12-15 plants in order to get a medium strength dose (400mg). Mescaline is NOT potent. 400-500 mg is an average dose. You'll need much more for extreme visuals. 12-15 buttons (dried plant tops) contains about 400-500 mg or the pure crystal phenethylamine alkaloid. Yes that means you must eat ALOT to get a reasonable dose

You would throw it all up before you trip like shrooms, it's not lsd. It's comparible to a blunt, I used the medicine for years. And if you desire to use it, I suggest going to a tribe who knows how to use it. They know how to give it to you safely as to not let you get harmed or have a bad trip. Because you know... they been using it for thousands of years.

Anyone know how peyote compares to shrooms or LSD? LSD is my favourite psychedelic cuz you can hide it so easily and it hits like a truck and lasts so long and best of all doesn’t ever make me feel weird whereas shrooms, especially with the lemon tek method on an empty stomach, at least for an hour make me feel weird before they stop bothering my gastrointestinal tract and allow me to experience the joys of serotonin. I’ve heard it’s quite foul and could cause one to vomit but if the experience is amazing I’m definitely gonna go ham on a few like I haven’t had water all day long in the desert where they grow.

    • @clecticmaniac5207
      @clecticmaniac5207 2 роки тому +1

Peyote and shrooms are closer together than lsd, shrooms has a different alkaloid tho. Lsd is chemicals, and personally I would do shrooms over lsd anytime, peyote should be taken care of properly and isn't a recreational thing. I grew up with it and, lemme tell you it's not meant to be 'enjoyed like a blunt or a 'trip you would throw it up before you got any hallucinations or any mind boggling alterations to your mind. It's comparable to weed, except your sense of direction and time is a bit slower. But, you should use peyote in a ceremony if you desire to. There is protocol for a reason, it's so you don't have a bad trip. It's to make sure those involved are safe, and I think people should have protocols with any psychedelic at all. It should be consumed safely.

Bad trips only happen when people can't handle a spiritual experience or don't accept that they're bad actions are perfectly fine and exactly how they should be. Societal norms should have no place in psychedelics, the universe definately isn't all peace and love, and it shouldn't be. God loves the good the bad and the ugly, just as it plays out in nature.

@@clecticmaniac5207 who is not a native person? Psychedelics are from all over the world. No one group of people or race owns any specific species of nature. Nature is for all of us, we are all from it. It is our right to interact with other realms how ever we choose. Saying they need to be used in one way or the highway is a disservice to what these plants really offer, and limits our understanding of the universe. It's really similar to bible thumpers. Though I am disheartened about how we criminalized nature and poached the shit out of what's out there.

Mostly through cultivation like virtually every other plant humans use!
For most nurseries that would be a far more feasible option than harvesting from the wild.
Grafted pyote grows surprisingly fast so the normal slow growth rate can be easily mitigated for commercial cultivation.
