No you definitely don’t! It will puff up a bit and a few may unravel depending on how your locs were started but it is so much better in the long wrong for you locs & scalp health
When you get your re-twist, wait a month to wash your hair and then after that wash your hair every two weeks but when you re-twist it, you’re supposed to honestly wait a month before you do a wash i’m not saying you can’t wash your hair at three weeks but you really need to wait a month right when you get a re-twist and then after that months over it, don’t matter when you want to wash it
I didn’t wash my starter locs until my next appointment. I kept it wrapped. It looked almost the same as when I first got it done. I didn’t put a lot of product in my hair. I had no build up.
Not washing and keeping it wrapped all the time stalls the process. If your starter locs still looked the same, that is a bad thing lol... That means they were not locking as quickly as they could have. You want your locs to go through the proper changes and phases, even the messy/frizzy phases.. to get you closer to maturation as soon as possible. If you want them to keep looking the same, it'll take FOREVER to reach full maturation. Messy is a normal part of the process... Embrace it.
@@PlusVK22 I wrap my hair, and I doesn't have that bad of build up and it grew a lot and already looks locked up and frizzy. I guess it really is depending on the person. BTW I wash my hair once a month right now, but when they mature more, I'll wash it more. I know disgusting, but I guess it works for me 💪🏾
If I’m supposed to wash my hair after 2 weeks how do they stay twisted? I’m in my 3rd month of trying to loc and they come lose before a retwist… I’m looking crazy as hell right now… 😂😂😂
Prolong your wash day period I’d say. I’m having the same issue right now and I’m only a week (almost 2) loc’d. Mine keep unraveling even after I leave them alone :(. Nervous to wash them at the 2 week mark lol
I got my first starter locs on 9/27/23 and I have a lot of build up now but my question can I wash it myself at home until I get my first retwist what should I do. 😮
That’s literally the same day. I started my locs but you can wash your hair after a month of getting it re-twist, and after you wash it that time it don’t matter how long you wanna wait to wash it after waiting that month I would. Recommend you washing every two weeks or three.
I thought i had to wait like a months thank god its so itchy and theres so much buildup after only like a week 😭

It depends on person to person. I have dandruff issue my whole life so this helps me. But if you had never had the issue, this video ain't for u
Cap..that would mean your hair didn’t even grow between retwists.

Water helps your locs mature. And what must it have smelled like??? Just cuz it looks fresh doesn't mean it IS fresh.

You’re welcome!

Stop washing them for a while and take your loc advice from someone who’s had theirs for 2 years minimum. 2 year old locks are usually shoulder length

You gotta wait three months before washing it because if you get started locks
