Well done video. The WR technique is typically a push crack or the WR pushes toward the CB for 5 yd to get him to backpedal then crack the safety who is typically a better tackler. Would love to see some all 22 tape to be able to see all the techniques on the field

One of my favorite run concepts

Yeah I've become obsessed with it. I see it so often at the NFL and D1 level. IZ, OZ, Duo and Power are really all you need as an OC... You can do so much with those 4 concepts 🤓 (my opinion)

Super great stuff ! Growing a new channel is always a tough especially with the saturation of football media but with breakdowns like this I’ve got no doubt you’ll find an audience.

Love this breakdown, Coach. Thank you. What program are you using to draw this up though?

Glad to hear. This is just PowerPoint and hudl. And I just plug in a cheap ($20) drawing pad. Wacom or something like that. Gets the Job done

Let's go. Read that PS backer. But idk how realistic that read will actually be in the game.
I haven't been able to play this yet. Last time I was able to regularly play this (or Madden) was a long a$$ time ago... And now when I play I always get crushed by my buddy who watches UA-cam videos showing him every glitch in the game. I do all this studying just to get smacked by a guy who knows nothing about football (André, in case he reads this 😂).
      Do better than me!

As a fan of a team, the Los Angeles Rams, that is increasingly using Duo I appreciate you explaining it. I am a medium knowledgeable fan but not big on the x's and o's. I appreciate your video but suggest maybe you try to be aware of using a lot of lingo that a standard fan like me might not understand.

Appreciate the feedback!! Will work to improve that over time. Also, I'm working on a course for fans ;) You'll see that on the channel when it's released. Should help to fill in some of these knowledge gaps and skyrocket your Football IQ 🤓🤓

I thought the back read the back side linebacker so for example in your first play he would be reading the M??

The way I learned it and how I teach it to my players... you read the playside LB, not the backside. Press the PSG and then cut off the PS LB. But I'm sure there are coaches who teach it differently and still have success with it, I just don't know any other method 😅

@@americanfootballacademy1741 fair enough I thought in the clips you showed the backers and you correctly read the backside linebackers anyway 😅

I had to watch this again to make sure I'm not losing my mind 😂😂😂
I think there may be some confusion with playside and backside...the Alabama clip playside is left, reading #40...with the Denver clip, playside is right, reading #59?? (Can't tell. Film not clear enough). Both times the playside inside LB is the read key with the way I'm teaching it.
Let me know if this makes sense! If not I gotta change up how I'm communicating this

I watched this a while ago and maybe got confused because they talk a lot about numbering the backers and ID’in the Mike and a lot of the time it would be the “Will” and it seemed like the read would be a backside linebacker in my mind, maybe I need to watch again 😅
Keep up the great work 👍🏽😎🇬🇧

how do u run this vs a 3 man front??

  • @mr.j3437

Why is Duo always run out of these heavy formations? It seems like if you spread them out wide and use a sniffer, you should be able to run it into a lighter box. This would also let you read an end and RPO a jail screen to the back side. Am I missing something?

I normally run it out of 11 personnel. 3 wrs, allows you to pair it with quick game or a single wr glance. I don't remember if I talked about that in the video. Generally teams use it from this heavy look because in short yardage, it's a great play. Allows for good angles and forces corners to tackle. With the OL knowing the leverage they want and the read being 2nd level, makes it a great play for 1-2 yards. But for sure, the majority of the time I use it is from a 3 wr set. You do need the fullback or TE in there though. Can't run it without unless you option the C gap defender.
