I'm 26 years old and I threw out my back yesterday. Was sitting on my steps, bent forward and bleaching some clothes in a bucket. The bucket was two steps below the one I was seated on (I know, stupid). Straightened up and boom, I almost passed out from the pain. I've been watching all your videos related to back spasms and lower back pain since yesterday, and today I'm almost good as new! Started with immediately laying down on an ice pack and elevating my legs, and took some ibuprofen. Then I just lay like that for several hours, because it was too painful to even roll over to try and get up. Eventually I was able to roll over and try different ways of laying, like on my side with a pillow between my legs. Then slowly started incorporating these stretches. I feel 100000000x better today than I did yesterday, when I was literally unable to move from the ground because of the pain. Started this morning off with these lower back pain stretches and an ice pack, and I'm so grateful to you both!!

I was in a car accident maybe 28 years ago snd developed arthritis in my back probably 10 or 15 years ago. I’ve been doing these exercises every day for at least 10 years and they really help. The arthritis will never go away but these and other exercises you have had in videos make a difference. Your videos are like having my very own PT that I can reference anytime. Thanks guys!

I am so blessed to have your exercises. I was tossed to the ground by my horse and fell on my right hip. I felt the SI joint bend forward and then snap back into place. I got up, somehow, and followed the horse (he was running back to the barn). After I got him settled, I returned home and went to a choir rehearsal. I felt just a twinge of deep pain. Well, that was in 1964 and now, at 75, I'm almost never without pain. Over the years, it worsened and I got really good at ignoring it - but no longer. Your videos have impressed me deeply, so much so that I got a folding massage table just like your blue one and set it up. Thank you for these exercises! I'm making them a daily routine to loosen up this hip. My pain radiates to the lower back, but has left my sciatic nerve alone, thankfully. The horse, by the way, was sold not too long after and has probably gone to Horse Heaven, if there is such a place, by now. Thank you for your channel!!

You guys are great! Any time my husband and I have any need for some adjustments in our bodies we go to your UA-cam channel! I am here because I so foolishly walked my daughters huskies in the woods no pinch collars on them and they pulled me so out of wack I am on day 7 of slowly getting better! What I picked up most from this particular video is doing these exercises every hour because that is about how long I last on my feet working in the kitchen so off I go back to the exercises now and give it a rest and head back to the kitchen. I am obsessed with making our food from scratch. Thanks again! Keep up the good work!

If the next two months yield similar results I will be back to normal should range of motion and pain free. Thank you!!

Dropping my legs side to side was incredible today!...I think...I just really focused on relaxing and really edging around the tight and painful spots in my lower back. I started with the less painful side as recommended. As I got a few minutes into the painful side a sudden pop and grinding occurred. Felt amazing. Almost as if I freed up scar tissue or something. Can you guys comment on the action that occurred in my back? It felt good so I'm not concerned. I literally feel euphoric from it right now. And also a feeling of great blood flow to my legs. 3 year sufferer of si joint pain.

I was born with an extra lumbar vertebrae according to my x rays, MRI and Dr. I was wondering what the studies say about incidences of herniated discs compared with normal backs? I would surmise that with a longer torso more pressure would be put on the discs regularly and a person with the extra vertebrae would be more prone to herniations?

I’m 29 and went to a chiropractor who said I have sever arthritis in my upper and lower back. I don’t have pain or discomfort except for under my right shoulder. They tried to get me to commit to 36 adjustments and pay for them up front (about $2500). Does this kind of practice sound right to you guys? I’ve been to several chiropractors in the past for different issues which they all treated successfully after 5-10 visits (max). I was caught off guard by this chiropractors approach though, it seemed more geared towards money. I’d like to hear what you guys think. Thanks.

I've gone to various chiropractors my entire life, with success. Yet I would run, not walk. That's predatory. More common is to treat as needed or offer smaller packages with a discount for the bulk purchase but 36? And all up front?

Chiros are nothing more than scam artists with offices and brass plaques.
Same thing with me. The first consultation was 20% talking about my problem and 80% talking about how many sessions I'd need and how I'd like to pay. Didn't go ahead with that. Contacted another Chiro, as soon as she got impression I had a brain and did some of my own research, she never called me back to setup a meeting and never answered her phone to me again.
Go to an actual medical professional like a physio.

I fell off the back of a pickup truck onto concrete and hit my tailbone now the piriformis muscle is inflamed and I can hardly walk. I can do most exercises unfortunately it's the standing up and trying to walk that hurts the most feels like someone is stabbing me in each side of my butt in the sciatica nerve. I've been soaking in Epsom salt warm water hard as hot as I can stand it at times. I had to resort to taking hydrocodone and ibuprofen which seems to really help but when it wears off I'm back to square one please help me

If so, Bob & Brad have video on it - ua-cam.com/video/ZEqRoCJ6UAY/v-deo.html - or you can do a search on youtube for others.

What are your thoughts when the pain increases with more movement. The more I walk, or exercise the more I have sciatica, and back pain due to a herniated L5S1. Even with laying on my stomach it seems to hurt more, even with a pillow.

physicaltherapyvideo Thank you for the reply, unfortunately PT hasn't helped either. I'll be seeing a spine specialist today to hopefully get more answers.

Hi Becky, hope you are well! I was wondering if you’ve had any improvement? I’m having the same exact issue from dead lifting 7 months ago. I feel like I’m finally headed in the right direction, as far as healing, but I’m just wondering how long it took for you to heal?

@@katherinea7944 hi, I’m actually doing really great! I almost had surgery but it turned a corner and I didn’t need to. I decided to not do much and let the inflammation go down, as I started feeling better I did more. I highly recommend the book Back mechanic by Stuart McGill. Now I watch my posture and don’t lift super heavy things. It took 6-8mo to really start feeling better.

Thank you for your response and recommendations!❤️ I will definitely look into getting the book. I’m really happy to hear you’re doing better. Herniations are no joke especially when they cause sciatica.

My question concerns an older subject, flat feet. You have shown exercises for fixing pronated feet and also talked about inserts and motion control shoes. Are the exercises and inserts/shoes mutually exclusive? That is, if I am doing the exercises to fix the feet, should I avoid motion control shoes and or inserts?

I only start to have pain when sitting. My right side of my lower back starts to hurt. Like in the kidney area. When I wake up a feel like I got hit by a truck.

Hello there Bob and Brad. I have a question. I am having some sort of a bulge on the right side mid-section of my back. Whenever I sleep or sit I feel uneven; the right side of my back feels more pronounced than the left side when in contact with flat surface. Do you have any idea what I can do to have an even back? This has been very uncomfortable for the past year. Thank you
