Today we play some more Combat Mission; however it's not Shock Force 2, it's Black Sea! A fictional what-if scenario if Russia invaded Ukraine in 2017, with Ukraine backed up by the US military. I feel right at home playing Black Sea after playing quite a bit of Shock Force 2 and it's awesome to have some modern Russian gear to play around with. Today we play as a US Airborne unit, we are surrounded and heavily outnumbered. Our job is to hold the line until a small Ukrainian Mechanized Platoon + T-64 can hopefully come help rescue us!

ABOUT THIS GAME
Combat Mission Black Sea is a military grade simulation depicting a fictional series of escalations between Russian and Ukraine which results in open conflict in the summer of 2017. As Russian forces move into Ukrainian territory the Ukrainians do their best to defend their country against a numerically and technologically superior adversary. Events surrounding the invasion cause NATO to send its advanced rapid deployment forces to check the Russian advance. A brutal scenario, for sure, but one which allows you to get a glimpse of what full spectrum contemporary near-peer tactical warfare is all about.
HIGHLIGHTS
At your command are detailed, highly researched American, Ukrainian, and Russian units from common brigade types such as Mech Infantry, Motor Rifle, Stryker, Armored, and more. All the capabilities one expects on the modern battlefield are included, such as Active Protection Systems (APS) swatting incoming threats, UAVs hovering around the battlefield transmitting valuable intel, and precision guided artillery munitions that find their mark in one shot. Well, as long as the enemy's electronic warfare attempts fail, otherwise you might find your finely tuned fighting machine isn't so finely tuned after all. Take all of this for a spin with four high-stakes campaigns, 22 standalone scenarios, and a plethora of Quick Battle maps to test your tactical acumen.

Loving the Combat Mission videos, now I really want the games. Just wanted to say thanks for making great videos and also for getting me into Arma, my most played game on steam by almost 900 hours. Keep up the great work!
Hell yeah, Arma is great, personally taking a break for something new to come to it
Just realised it's my birthday tomorrow, you replying to my comment is a pretty sweet present :)
@@awesome_fox0617 happy early birthday
finally this game is on steam
Super excited!
Well well, you seem to have improved significantly with this game! Hope you play more of it :D
I got a 2ish hr one done yesterday, hoping to have that up soonish :D, also thanks, the encouragement means a lot haha
@@theShermanator also a minor suggestion from what I saw in this round. You sort of threw your tank recklessly. You could make a lot more careful micromanaging of the tank. Perhaps its a bit of a MoW reflex on your end, but try to position the tank for narrow firing arcs around buildings and make its move orders more careful maybe. You just clicked to the other end of the map, I reckon it is better to give it multiple move orders while making sure it has a safe route.
@@dogukan127 very good point, thanks!
Bro i LITERALLY 5 MINS ago posted on your last vid asking you to make Black sea video lol thanks man!
Haha great
@@theShermanator Also small tip Sherm,if you press alt+b i believe you can activiate something called bright night mode.It basically looksl ike the moon is very bright and lighting up the terrain.May be easier for your viewers on night missions.
I run a mod that actually addsan NVGoverlay by pressing alt+m after you have activated bright night mode,if it tickles your pickle community.battlefront.com/topic/134606-night-vision-mode/
Also @ 36:30 your team used all the AT4s,wasting them. What you can do to avoid that is split them off into an AT team, and give the non AT team a small "target armor arc". I guess you already know that but yeah the AI do silly stuff at times.Still way better than CTA "NOT" using their AT though lol
I think you can resupply units with ammo without entering a vehicle, if they are on the same or adjacent action square of a vehicle or dump and the vehicle is in same formation or something along those lines... Can't remember the exact rule about ammo resupply and sharing...
I wasnt sure haha, I should test it
@sherminator - you didn’t link the mods 🤐🤐
Not feeling too good rn, but I'll add em later
Did it!
@@theShermanator ayyy hope you’re feeling better! And thanks bro 😇
Hey 👋 Sherman, so CM Cold War vs Black Sea. Which one is better in terms of game mechanics?
Oh I think they are pretty different, Black Sea everything is SUPER DEADLY, with Cold War having the same lethality but less accurate weapon systems and spotting
You should be able to just run the truck next to your units, and the infantry will load ammo automatically. Even if they are in a building.
Oh damn, I didn't know
Are there mods for this game on the Steam Workshop or where do you get mods?
Not on steam, I linked mine I used in the description
13:15. That's when he knew, he fucked up
Rip haha
the bm oplot is a upgraded t-80UD not a t-64
Ur right, I was thinking of the other one
@@theShermanator the t64 bulat ?
BM Oplot is T-84, not a T-80UD like a T-90 not a T-72B
@@neowargame575 and the t84 is based off the T-80UD
@@neowargame575 also the t-90 is just a t72 with small changes and the t72b is just a t72a with contact one
the t80 tanks have nothing to do with the t72 or t90
Am I right in saying this game can run in 'real time' yano without turn based?
you are correct
@@dimi_god8421 Awesome thanks. 👍🏻
Yep you can do Real Time or Turn Based
You can but the WEGO (60 second live segments seperated by command phases where you que up your orders) is probably the better system, its easier to spot mistakes and keep up with the action, its easier to multitask and split the units into their smaller more effective teams. AS well as spot things you may of missed in real time.
soldiers model in steam version looks so weird
Worse or better?
@@theShermanator worse i think, but it might has something to do with my ram as the discord explained
Looks like you lost the drone not your helicopter to those strellas.
Possibly so
watching this in 2022 is ironic
haha yeah
its not a fictional war anymore
Ha yeah..
Fuckin aye
Eyy
