Just went outside to my creek and caught some, really fun but also kinda hard because you don’t want to get pinched
It’s a absolute blast! You can use a trap also.
@@SmokeAndTackle no I just flipped over big rocks and grabbed them
That is the same way I like to do it
I use a net to put behind em and then put my hand in front of the crayfish so that they scoot right into the net
@@iankonynenbelt I did that with a bucket yesterday
hes so fast its like hes teleporting lol
They can be pretty quick!
Some people call em river roaches.I call em the chicken wings of the river.
Hahaha that’s the best! What a great meal!
Not me years later looking up videos to show my 4 year old how mom used to catch these with my hands 😅 good old days !
Hahaha it happens
I just go out at midnight when the water is low and they are just crawling on the river bed so you can pick them up
Try using long metal Food Tongs!Long Food Tongs can be a very effective extension of your hands to safely catch Crayfish and are also a personal safety defense devise from Snapping Turtles or Snakes, even broken glass bottles!
It’s easier to snatch em with 2 fingers I have a creek I catch them in every year and I go under with a snorkel using 2 fingers
I catch em bare handed yesterday I caught 9 blue crawfish and like 2 red
Nice 👍
Cameraman ftw!
I used to do this all the time as a kid and then I'd use them as bait to catch speckled trout.
I used to use them to catch largemouth bass pretty often.
I could never
It’s easy
You could, you would just have to break the fear of whatever the reason is.
I went to go catch some, and I lifted up a rock and saw a snake😭it was so terrifying
Yeah you never know what you might find
@@SmokeAndTackle For sure!!!
I usually go at night and use a flashlight a lot of them will swim towards the light then put your hand infront of them and grab them with your other
I’ve only used traps at night but that sounds like a great idea
easy way to get pinched, growing up we always put a net behind them and spooked them from the front but interesting to see it done this way
This is the way we always did it growing up. Toss a trap in one area and catch them by hand until the traps get pulled.
How did you get that so easily, anytime I try it with my hands they pitch away so quickly
Just have to anticipate where they are going to go. Most of them I catch when they are swimming away.
Just go super slow and get behind them and when your hand is like half inch above the water you go relatively fast so they dont get your sent
I’m caching crayfish
That’s great!
Can you please give me one crawfish
Yumiii
Absolutely!
shoes in water😢
Water shoes they are great for walking in rocky rivers 👍
It the easiest thing ever
It really is and it’s a bunch of fun
Look like signal crayfish? Correct me if I’m wrong but looks like a good time 👍
It’s a great time!
