On this episode of Breaking Trail, Coyote finds an extremely blue and quite possibly new species of Crayfish!
While adventuring in the back hills of West Virginia with herpetologist Tim Brust the team set their sites on encountering this rare mountain gem by sifting through rock outcrops where water seeps pour out of the mountainside.
Unlike most crayfish species these live underground and not in the mountain streams and rivers like many of their cousins. However finding them is much easier said than done.
So will the team help researchers in their discovery of this new creature?

My buddy had a blue crayfish in his aquarium, little bugger was an escape artist. We would be having coffee in his kitchen and hear clicking on the floor, looking down to find a small blue escapee making his way across the kitchen floor... Always entertaining. :)

Well, I don't think it took him a few hours, I think it's more likely that they had several attempts to find it, but only footage from the successful one got edited into a video.
Blue crawfish are literally nothing special. You can buy them for about 15 bucks at any pet store
Then again it is a shiny Pokémon so no surprise it's hard to find. And he should have catcher with his poke balls

Never knew these were rare. My son used to catch these all the time from a stream that went behind our apartment in Arvada Colorado. We only got water in it when the snow melted up in the Rockies or it rained. We never ate them because we lived in a suburb of Denver.
All he used to catch and release them was a couple Gatorade bottles baited with bologna or raw bacon.

I keep a native aquarium with spotfin shiners, banded and rainbow darters, blunt nose minnows and the native Ohio rusty crayfish. On rare occasions I have had them turn blue from the foods they are fed. Most don't change, but a few do. Very cool!

I’ve had one of these before, it’s name was “Big Blue” it had it’s own little tank of water I found it at Petsmart
So, let me get this straight, Coyote has been stung by a bullet ant, a lion-fish, a tarantula hawk, and scorpions. Then, he wrangled an alligator and let it bit him, and has wrangled countless other animals. After that, he let a damn alligator snapping turtle bite his arm. Now, he's discovered a new sub-species of crayfish?! Guys, let's just take a moment to realize how badass Coyote really is.

I’ve never seen a blue crawfish in the wild and I’ve been cooking them for over 50 years, but I’ve kept crawfish in aquariums and they turn bluer with every molt! I just figured it had to do with clean clear water.
My grandfather used to farm crawfish when I was a little kid and had a few blue ones. My cousin even went on tv with one to show it off.

Holy Mackrel, a reskin of the bat for the Scout. The item is a random drop and is part of the item set, Special Delivery. Hitting an enemy with it will show how many times you hit them in the kill feed. The kill feed will say "FISH KILL!" This applies to the weapon called "The Unarmed Combat".
