Sfaxians are very very kind people. They are modest and welcoming. They always had the best scores of high school graduation because for them education is sacred Undoubtedly they have the best cooking in whole Tunisia. Bless their hearts !
Waw You made me curious about a city I had no intention of visiting. I hope you can travel to some other less known spots in Tunisia and give us a tour with your great energy
That's what I intended! More people certainly should visit Sfax, I had no real idea myself until I got there and threw myself in :-) I'll be around Touzer in the next video
I was born in Sfax!!! It’ s a great pleasure to see somebody over thé sea discovering my City. When I was Young , there was a beach and unfortunately, it is not now.
Adapt, improvise and overcome. As you know, sometimes it’s the unexpected adventure that is the best. Another superb video my friend. Well done 👏🏻👍🏻✌🏻🤙🏻
Great video Mr Chris. I hope you enjoyed your visit to my city Sfax. The best time to visit Sfax is between November and March : you can assist to the olives harvesting and you can see flamingos near the coast. Also Sfax is known as the best culinary experience in Tunisia.
Hello, I'm Pedro, I'm Portuguese and I'm going to live in Sfax next month because a job offer has come up. However, I'm a father, I have a wife and 2 children, what do you think of the city? I'm very curious
That was so interesting, in particular the friendliness of the people and the vastness of the fresh food available. The shark meal looked and sounded delicious, a real meaty fish to enjoy after all the walking you do.
You can also explore the wonders of Sfax, including the Borjs (traditional summer houses). If you're interested in visiting these unique places, let me know, you will be welcomed
A good attitude really is very helpful when things don't quite go to plan. Thanks for taking us along on a visually rich part the city.👍 Colors were really popping at the market.
Gosh, I wish I could meet you here. I'm "Sfaxian" and I go there to the Medina almost everyday to catch the bus, to go to college. About taxis, Sfax has its own system. Since Sfax is made of a center (the Medina) and streets going from it like rays, there are taxis that fill all the seats (four people) and drives in one direction. There, you stop on the side, no matter where actually want to go, and pays him a little fee. Another system is the "compteur". You take a taxi that will take you wherever you want, but it'll count to you the fee you're going to pay. It's much more expensive than the first one. If you're still in Sfax by chance, let me know. I can meet you. I'm glad to see that you loved the city, because I honestly don't 😅
Ah well I was fine just walking around there and discovering the place. I only spent a couple of nights there but really enjoyed it, as I say the people were super friendly and that really makes a place.
@@triathleteuk It's a fine city. Not that touristic, not that clean. There's aren't lots of places to go out to. Maybe you'd like it of it's not that touristic. Water cuts off from time to time, especially at night (9, 10 pm). Chris' video basically covered it all. Health departments suck (but free), and that's why elderly stand in the morning in a long line in front of hospitals. There's a simple unhurtful problem that appeared several months ago, is that people from middle Africa immigrated to Tunisia, through Sfax, intending to keep travelling to Europe (of course illegaly), but they found themselves stuck here (according to my info). So, it's normal to see people sitting around in streets, especially in the Medina, around 7, 7:30 am. Another problem: simple food (milk, coffee, sugar, flour...) don't exist in markets. Why? No idea. I just get so excited when someone brings a bottle of milk or two when coming home. Maybe I don't like Sfax becuase I'm ungrateful or affected by other people's opinion. It's not that bad, but if I had a choice, I wouldn't live here. There are much better places. However, come and take a look anyway! If you need a local with fluent English, I can help. I basically go to the Medina everyday to go to school. I don't mind accompanying you for some time.

Nice one again chris, I followed your tips in morocco solo and they helped alot and these will help one day when I go to tunisia. What do you think about egypt and all the horror stories you read online? Would love to see how you go there. Cheers
Thank you! Glad the videos helped in Morocco and hope you can make it to Tunisia some day. I went to Egypt back in 2010 and can’t say it was a place I feel like returning to. Amazing sights and history of course, but so much hassle. I liked Cairo the best - aside from the pyramids it’s a big enough city that you’re mostly just left alone.
Such a nice video, informative and passionnate about Sfax! Love your work and videos about Tunisia. So well done Chris, keep going! From a Tunisian living in Tunisia ;)
Hey, it’s really impossible for me to say. I didn’t use Airbnb and don’t know your requirements. I tend to think their fees are too high nowadays to make it worthwhile
yo i live here and i got massive whiplash seeing these spots i see on the daily but inside a video i never thought anyone would like this city considering the trash problem
Sadly there’s trash problems in many countries and it’s something I’ve seen get so much worse over my lifetime of travel. It’s something I hate to see, but it’s not something that can be solved easily.

It was super tasty, and made even more special by the fact that the restaurant wasn't really open but they cooked me this lovely food anyway!
