No. He's not even in the top ten. His positional awareness was next to nothing. It's ironic because Hugo was the same when he came to Spurs. He was always so far off his line. He was coached hard to stop that.

A taller goalkeeper isn’t saving those goals 😂 probably the dumbest take I’ve heard
Because you only saw him in his declining period, he just got old at some point. But in 90's, he was one of the best in the world.
I mean you have your own channel and you can make as much content as you like it’s your opinion and you’re free to put it out there as you like..but Fabian wasn’t that good dida and llores are the same made so many mistakes it’s laughable he’s not even a top20 goalkeeper
Good goalie, but did some seriously dodgy stuff.
Top 20 at best. Fun to watch but never that reliable. And his time on peak form is way to short to be even considered top 10
As a Man Utd fan, I can safely say no, Barthez was not the most underrated because he was shit, an absolute joke.
In ManU, he was in his declining period, he got old, but in 90's he was one of the best in the world. The number one at some point.
@@tibsky1396 No, even at his prime, he was always a liability who would make far too many mistakes, he was never anywhere near the top level of keepers such as Yashin, Banks, Zoff, Shilton, Jennings etc.
No 👍🏻
Do you also think he's overrated lol?
@@flashbackfootball1367 I do. He was France's undisputed number one with loads of caps and played for one of the biggest, most successful and most popular clubs in the world. He was rated very highly. But his mistakes and unreliable mentality made him a burden imo and I'd definitely describe him as overrated
Too short… thought he was an outfield player and the most overrated keeper ever… he even smoked cigarettes
In a word, no.
He isn't a top five keeper for United.
Says who? Some nobody named Bill 😂
No. He's not even in the top ten. His positional awareness was next to nothing. It's ironic because Hugo was the same when he came to Spurs. He was always so far off his line. He was coached hard to stop that.
He was dreadful
He's not underrated. He was good for a short period of time but god did he concede a ton of goals outisde of the box due to his short size - 6 feet tall. He went to shit after his 2nd season at United where along with Brown and Silvestre formed the Chuckle brothers circus act.
'Short period' I see what you did there Mahone ;). In all seriousness, I would argue that he was great for longer than he was shit.
@@flashbackfootball1367 He was considered a top 10 keeper in the world for at least 3 years between 1999-2002. His first season at United was good but then the decline started. He started making howlers you just don't expect from a top keeper not to mention due to his short stature - he was one of the smallest keepers at top level football he conceded and astronomical amount of goals from distance. In one season at Utd he probably conceded at least 10 goals from 25 yards
@@mesicek7 it wasn’t because of height though 😂 that’s so dumb in my opinion. You’re saying Casillas could’ve saved some of the goals if he was taller is just nonsense. Casillas was only like an inch or 2 taller and I don’t hear people make those same arguments.
@@CG-xx2er It was cause of the height. Small keepers have problems with saving long shots - even Casillas had issues with them. Why do you think we don't see under 6 feet goalkeepers?
No
Only one French keeper is more overrated than Barthez. Lloris. Both are the luckiest keepers of all time. Underrated 😂
Good goalkeeper but not the best 👌
Overall, he was mid at best.
Underated maybe not...but most clown yes...one ot the worst SAF buying
He was terrible for utd.
One of the most overrated I'd say. Constantly giving away goals with silly delusional attempts at footwork
he s the most overrated. foh
Very good but nowhere near as good as you’re making out. There’s valid reasons why nobody puts him in an all time list
He was terrible
More like overrated 😅😂🤣😭💀
How can you be overrated if no one talks about you? You’re actually slow
@Drulou Back in those times, he was smdh. What are u 12?
No.
You believe he is adequately rated?
Overrated.
@@warickhunt4147 Going to have to strongly disagree with that one mate.
