I finally got my hands on a fj with 62000 miles 2010 and i love this truck, runs strong ,smooth. Oh ! Did i forget to mention my friend got a wrangler with 80,000 miles and he need a new engine already? 😄😄
It is still being sold here in Saudi with 2019 model,despite the high increase in gas price that was almost 130%. Being an ex owner for one 2017, it was one of the best cars I've owned. Sadly I had to sell it for a more economical choice with about 80% of what I originally paid as brand new.

Back in 2007 when I lived in Colorado Springs. I was up in the rocky mountains off-roading when I looked up and saw a FJ Crusier, loaded to the max, going up the side of the mountain where there was no road! I swear it was at least at a 35 degree front end up tilt just slowly winding it's way up through the trees. I'll never forget that. I'll partner up any F**king day of the week with an FJ.
I got mine in Aug 2006 and also still have it and love it. Towed my 2 horse trailer, drift boat and allowed me to launch any where I wanted, my utility trailer hauling hay and now my 21 RV trailer. The only thing I do not like about it, the only thing, is the gas mileage.
We picked up a used 2007 late in 2006 after my wife wrecked her 4-runner. It had around 6k miles at the time we found it listed for sale. My wife still has it and it's now sporting around 60k miles. She's had no problems what so ever with the running gear or engine etc. The only thing I think could have been better is the outside window molding. One just came off, i'm sure while going through the car wash and the 4 wheel drive gear stick boot pops off sometimes and other than her not letting me drive it unless she's in it with me, that's all the trouble for us. It's great in the city as well as the trails. We can't get over the price of used ones. I was going to get my own but dang, I don't want to spend what they go for in GA. She refuses to part with hers... We both love it and I'm still going to hold out and hopefully get my own one day.

I love my FJ Cruiser! Reason I got it over the 4Runner was that they don't make them anymore. It's a 2010 with over 209,000 miles now. Can go anywhere and very reliable! I'm the second owner and no issues. I just finished a 3 month, 12,000 mile roadtrip to Alaska and my only complaint is the poor MPG, 15-16.
I bought the yellow 2007 FJ then passed it to my teenage son when the limited edition blue one came out in 2014 (stick too!) . I loved them both. I knew the limitations with visibility over my shoulder, but it never bothered me or my son. I love that we spend time bonding over working on our FJs and modifying them. He just hit 200000 miles and it is still going strong. Basic maintenance has been all they required. His older one needs hitest, mine does not. Not a biggie. He is headed off to an academy in the fall and cannot take his car first year. I think he might miss his FJ as much as he will miss his mom.
My friend once owned an FJ Cruiser from 2008-2015. He, his wife and 3 kids loved the truck but not the color yellow. He also said it was a beast in the snow and never got stuck. Now, they own a Highlander, Toyota loyalists to say the least.
You can still buy a new 2019 FJ cruiser new in the Middle East Gulf region,Chile,Colombia,Philippines and South Africa. Do your research CNBC before you say this car is phased out.

Love mine too! 07 cookie monster blue. Has about 180K on it. Swapped out the alternator last week myself and kept on getting it. I've only had it offroad once. Spent a whole weekend camping at the beach. Seen tons of 4dr Jeep wranglers and pickup trucks spinning out and getting stuck. I literally glid through the sand and never deflated my tires either.
I love my FJ. I've been all over the United States with it, from NH to the Keys all the way to Rt 1 in California. I've never had a single issue with it other than off-road boulders slicing the tire walls. AMAZING vehicle, just rough on gas.

I bought a FJ cruiser in 2007 it has 123,000 miles on it and never has been in the shop, This thing has never had a breakdown, I have put new break shoes on it and now it needs a new CV axle, that is it, I have owned this thing for 12 year's and I am 60 years old, I hope that they bring it back because I want to get another one, I live in northern Michigan and I absolutely love this vehicle, It is supposed to use premium fuel although I have always used regular and no problems, I can't say enough good things to say about this vehicle, Thanks Toyota for building this vehicle.
The FJ crusier is still sold in the Middle East. Even the cost of second hand FJs is quite high. I myself own the 2017 model and despite the temperatures in the region which reach up to 50 degrees Celsius (122 Farenheit), it is still a reliable vehicle and has never broken down in the two years I've owned it. Edit: 2023, Toyota released the final edition of this great vehicle. I had taken this car to the desert multiple times (coming from a person who only goes off road during the winter months) and all I can say is that is is an amazing vehicle both on the road and off road. A welcome feature is the build in compressor which although not the best, is great to have. Thank you Toyota for making this amazing vehicle.

@@castillo33brandon If Toyota was smart, they would have made a made an updated version of the 40 to truly compete with the Wrangler; solid front axle, styling true to the 40, removeable top, etc. The FJC sold a handful, while the Wrangler sales are off the charts. Bought one of the last models delivered in Australia. Such a Great reliable machine. getting 4cylinder economy out of the dual vvti 1grfe ii 4.0l v6 its a car worth keeping for a long time. Solid build quality, reliable, powerful, dependable and has taken me all over this country.
I had one. Drove it into the ground for 10 years and got $20,000 in a trade in when I bought it for $25,000. Toyota should bring back an affordable sports car like the Celica or MR2.
I have a 2007 FJ and I love it!!! Driving it gives you a feeling of being small yet beastly at the same time. A friend of mine owns one with over 300,000 miles on it and it still runs great. Also even at that high of miles you could still sell it at close to 10k
The FJ is easily the most reliable and well built vehicle I’ve ever owned. I’ve quite literally driven it thru rivers, floods, up mountains, ramped it dukes of hazard style and probably far more often than most. I’ve taken it across country on road trips several times. For what it lacks in ‘refined modern creature comforts’ it makes up for in endurance. I drive it like I’m in an action movie and while all my friends who own jeeps and other trucks have had several issues through the years, my FJ in 10 years has never had a single problem other than a flat tire. This is why people love their FJ’s.
It was indeed a great 4x4 vehicle, I almost bought one twice. Blaming it on a recession is inaccurate. I’ve spoken to several owners who sold theirs, and several people like me who REALLY wanted one... and everyone gave the same reason as I had. VISIBILITY. An off road vehicle where you can’t see outside the high doored small windows is insane. You could not see the ground you were trying to negotiate, you had a humongous blind spot and had no way to see how close you were to objects on both sides, the right side was comical. They gave the thing windows like a hummer, high doors and short windows. Had they updated it with lower windows I would have bought one immediately, but instead of updating it they killed it. Sad.
I just traded in my 2008 FJ Cruiser, it had 270,000 miles on it and was still running strong. GREAT VEHICLE. The FJ was killed by the Federal Govt's minimum combined MPG restrictions. It is still being made and sold in other countries
Toyota is missing out. Suv's are booming right now. This is the perfect timing. Hope they release an updated version, especially a diesel option! Id buy it even if its around 40k
Fifthcell grand cherokees/wranglers, blazers and avalanches. Tahoes suburbans, almost any old school car, some imports like rx8’s, r32’s and the old supra is ok. The newer toyota rav4 i believe is the one i think looks pretty good too. But the fj looks like something a kid would design and just doesnt look right, i think its the random white roof they decided to throw on for no reason. Also looks like its trying too hard to be a willys/hummer hybrid but modern and without the removable parts of the willys.
????. My Parents FJ from 2008 has a diff-lock button that locks the rear axel. I think this option was only in the Arabian Region because I have seen many FJs with this feature.
Gas prices haven't been low since the 90's. Gas was cheap when it was $1/gal. Then all of a sudden September 11th happened, and gas went crazy. We haven't had cheap gas since. Also, I'm still waiting for my "recovery" from the 2008 crash.
And the duramax/power stroke can. It can’t pass emissions becaus it’s too small thanks to incredibly stupid rules from the EPA. Very stringent emissions standards for deisels, unless they happen to be the size of a small house...

I had a new 2010 and traded it in for the new design 2014 4RUNNER. I grew tired of the ‘barn door’ tailgate and very poor cargo space. The small ‘bomber doors’ were a hassle also. I still have the 4RUNNER and happy I made the trade.
I think Toyota *IS* working on a small true off-roader. The FT-4X concept shown in 2017 could be the basis of such a vehicle (think of it as a true off-road variant of the RAV4).

The 2020 model has just arrived in Saudi Arabia. Because the demand here is huge (civilian/government) What a glorious and beautiful and powerful vehicle to own.
I had one for 2 years, and traded it for a 4Runner. Loved the look, but eventually got tired of the claustrophobic feel of the interior. My 4Runner serves me better because it's all wheel drive all the time (my automatic FJ was not), and I can also lock it into 4 wheel drive when I drive into my mucky field.
Thanks for being brave enough to speak directly about the clear shortcomings and poor visibility in the FJ design. The idea of a budget minded 4X4 was laudable but the execution veered towards laughable. The strangest thing is that Toyota already has the classic and sensible 3 door Land Cruiser Prado in their portfolio. That SUV would fit perfectly below the 4Runner in the Toyota off road lineup and offer a no nonsense option around 30K. If Jeep can make a business case for the basic Wrangler then Toyota ought to be able to justify a direct competitor.

The FJ Cruise is nothing like the FJ or HJ of old - different body shape, different suspension, different engine, it never was a reto version for hard core Land Cruiser owners. I know, I owned and drove a HJ 45 for 35 years. I sold the vehicle to a collector looking for a good old style 4x4. Cheers from Australia.

Even ones that aren't meant for it, I once planned to buy a turbo AWD Juke and lift it and go up a few sizes in tire lol Something I learned is ground clearance and good angles is all you need really and 4wd/Awd of course
I own an 07 6-speed model and flipped it on its side once. Had a tractor close by and was able to roll it back over. I let it settle for a few minutes, then fired it up and drove off. Got all the cosmetic damage repaired but mechanically, it has never given me any problems whatsoever.
Had a 2010 Burgandy FJ Cruiser & traded in for a 2010 Audi A4 3.0 L , great 4 wheel drive truck , especially in Quebec winter's and this truck can move in 4 feet of water, without entering the cab.But your right it was a gas guzzler in those day's , but now I regret trading it in !!!!

I really wanted one! I also wanted sleeping space, but I'm too tall for an FJ, so ended up with a 4Runner.
They still sell them to counties that actually appreciate reliable vehicles that last and hold their value.

Lol the mpg is ofcourse low. If they made a new one, I gurantee they can make it 25mpg.

My friend once owned an FJ Cruiser from 2008-2015. He, his wife and 3 kids loved the truck but not the color yellow. He also said it was a beast in the snow and never got stuck. Now, they own a Highlander, Toyota loyalists to say the least.

Love mine too! 07 cookie monster blue. Has about 180K on it. Swapped out the alternator last week myself and kept on getting it. I've only had it offroad once. Spent a whole weekend camping at the beach. Seen tons of 4dr Jeep wranglers and pickup trucks spinning out and getting stuck. I literally glid through the sand and never deflated my tires either.

I love my FJ. I've been all over the United States with it, from NH to the Keys all the way to Rt 1 in California. I've never had a single issue with it other than off-road boulders slicing the tire walls. AMAZING vehicle, just rough on gas.

Talk about resale value. We got a new one in Sept 2014 for $32,000. Today, according to KBB it's worth $32,451, pretty happy about that.
Check autotrader.com. They're asking 33,000 with 70k. Once in a lifetime deal where you can use a car for 8 years and it's worth more than new.

I bought a FJ cruiser in 2007 it has 123,000 miles on it and never has been in the shop, This thing has never had a breakdown, I have put new break shoes on it and now it needs a new CV axle, that is it, I have owned this thing for 12 year's and I am 60 years old, I hope that they bring it back because I want to get another one, I live in northern Michigan and I absolutely love this vehicle, It is supposed to use premium fuel although I have always used regular and no problems, I can't say enough good things to say about this vehicle, Thanks Toyota for building this vehicle.
The FJ crusier is still sold in the Middle East. Even the cost of second hand FJs is quite high. I myself own the 2017 model and despite the temperatures in the region which reach up to 50 degrees Celsius (122 Farenheit), it is still a reliable vehicle and has never broken down in the two years I've owned it.
Edit: 2023, Toyota released the final edition of this great vehicle. I had taken this car to the desert multiple times (coming from a person who only goes off road during the winter months) and all I can say is that is is an amazing vehicle both on the road and off road. A welcome feature is the build in compressor which although not the best, is great to have. Thank you Toyota for making this amazing vehicle.

The FJC sold a handful, while the Wrangler sales are off the charts.

I own a 2010 FJ in voodoo blue and at least once a week I get someone chasing me down trying to buy it. It takes me anywhere I want to go and it's been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned, aside from absolutely crazy money I would never consider selling it ☺

I had one. Drove it into the ground for 10 years and got $20,000 in a trade in when I bought it for $25,000. Toyota should bring back an affordable sports car like the Celica or MR2.
I have a 2007 FJ and I love it!!! Driving it gives you a feeling of being small yet beastly at the same time. A friend of mine owns one with over 300,000 miles on it and it still runs great. Also even at that high of miles you could still sell it at close to 10k
The FJ is easily the most reliable and well built vehicle I’ve ever owned. I’ve quite literally driven it thru rivers, floods, up mountains, ramped it dukes of hazard style and probably far more often than most. I’ve taken it across country on road trips several times. For what it lacks in ‘refined modern creature comforts’ it makes up for in endurance. I drive it like I’m in an action movie and while all my friends who own jeeps and other trucks have had several issues through the years, my FJ in 10 years has never had a single problem other than a flat tire. This is why people love their FJ’s.
It was indeed a great 4x4 vehicle, I almost bought one twice. Blaming it on a recession is inaccurate. I’ve spoken to several owners who sold theirs, and several people like me who REALLY wanted one... and everyone gave the same reason as I had. VISIBILITY. An off road vehicle where you can’t see outside the high doored small windows is insane. You could not see the ground you were trying to negotiate, you had a humongous blind spot and had no way to see how close you were to objects on both sides, the right side was comical. They gave the thing windows like a hummer, high doors and short windows. Had they updated it with lower windows I would have bought one immediately, but instead of updating it they killed it. Sad.

I just traded in my 2008 FJ Cruiser, it had 270,000 miles on it and was still running strong. GREAT VEHICLE. The FJ was killed by the Federal Govt's minimum combined MPG restrictions. It is still being made and sold in other countries
That's not what killed it. Overall Toyota has done well because the entire fleet is counted as one.

I drive a silver FJ up here in New Hampshire...and love it. Put snow tires on it and go just about anywhere, super reliable.

Fifthcell grand cherokees/wranglers, blazers and avalanches. Tahoes suburbans, almost any old school car, some imports like rx8’s, r32’s and the old supra is ok. The newer toyota rav4 i believe is the one i think looks pretty good too. But the fj looks like something a kid would design and just doesnt look right, i think its the random white roof they decided to throw on for no reason. Also looks like its trying too hard to be a willys/hummer hybrid but modern and without the removable parts of the willys.

My Parents FJ from 2008 has a diff-lock button that locks the rear axel. I think this option was only in the Arabian Region because I have seen many FJs with this feature.
Gas prices haven't been low since the 90's. Gas was cheap when it was $1/gal. Then all of a sudden September 11th happened, and gas went crazy. We haven't had cheap gas since. Also, I'm still waiting for my "recovery" from the 2008 crash.

I had a new 2010
and traded it in for the new design 2014 4RUNNER.
I grew tired of the ‘barn door’ tailgate
and very poor cargo space.
The small ‘bomber doors’ were a hassle also.
I still have the 4RUNNER and happy I made the trade.
My father owns this and I love the feeling of almost never seeing anyone else on the street with it.
Toyota please bring back the FJ Cruiser.

I think Toyota *IS* working on a small true off-roader. The FT-4X concept shown in 2017 could be the basis of such a vehicle (think of it as a true off-road variant of the RAV4).
But ft4x itself was not that offroad worty. i hope better one will come out
Got a 2007 FJ still running 367,000KM. Never break down yet. The body is in good shape. Best vehicle I have ever bought. Sometimes I go 120km/hr and can still do it
I will buy another one if they bring it back to market. No questions. They run forever. They are very reliable winter or summer. My everyday vehicle.
The FJ is still being sold here in my country until now. I live in Asia and Toyota still sells them in many Asian countries.
I never liked how limited the visibility is in them. Every other off road vehicle is easier to see out of.

I had one for 2 years, and traded it for a 4Runner. Loved the look, but eventually got tired of the claustrophobic feel of the interior. My 4Runner serves me better because it's all wheel drive all the time (my automatic FJ was not), and I can also lock it into 4 wheel drive when I drive into my mucky field.
Thanks for being brave enough to speak directly about the clear shortcomings and poor visibility in the FJ design. The idea of a budget minded 4X4 was laudable but the execution veered towards laughable. The strangest thing is that Toyota already has the classic and sensible 3 door Land Cruiser Prado in their portfolio. That SUV would fit perfectly below the 4Runner in the Toyota off road lineup and offer a no nonsense option around 30K. If Jeep can make a business case for the basic Wrangler then Toyota ought to be able to justify a direct competitor.
FJ Cruiser will comeback as a fully electric vehicle. I'm waiting to buy one.

The FJ Cruise is nothing like the FJ or HJ of old - different body shape, different suspension, different engine, it never was a reto version for hard core Land Cruiser owners. I know, I owned and drove a HJ 45 for 35 years. I sold the vehicle to a collector looking for a good old style 4x4. Cheers from Australia.

I own an 07 6-speed model and flipped it on its side once. Had a tractor close by and was able to roll it back over. I let it settle for a few minutes, then fired it up and drove off. Got all the cosmetic damage repaired but mechanically, it has never given me any problems whatsoever.
Had a 2010 Burgandy FJ Cruiser & traded in for a 2010 Audi A4 3.0 L , great 4 wheel drive truck , especially in Quebec winter's and this truck can move in 4 feet of water, without entering the cab.But your right it was a gas guzzler in those day's , but now I regret trading it in !!!!
