Same with European cars. Whenever I see someone driving a BMW, I just assume they’re some deadbeat living paycheck-to-paycheck with a mountain of unpaid loans. Not all American cars are bad. I’d say the Ford Crown Victoria and *some* of the Tesla models are good purchases. I bought my Camry XLE in 2010 and it still feels new in 2020. I’m never gonna buy another car again because I don’t need to.
@awesome guy Not really. The Camry costs over $55,000 in my country. Also, it's bigger, more opulent and feels luxurious compared to cars that most middle class people drive here. Forget about the Camry, even something as "basic" as the Civic is considered high-end.
But what is 100 times more comfortable in 100 times more fun bet it’s not the Camry. Sure everybody knows range rovers are the bottom of the top 50 most reliable brands but get one CP owed or with a warranty or with a good mechanic.

@@thishandelisntavailable Camry is considered a affordable mid size sedan while Avalon being the larger, more premium offering. It’s mostly because roads in some countries are larger than others, also the heavy taxation on cars in India and some other Asian countries make cars like Camry very expensive.
actually thats a good question, because car reviewers always talk about driving dynamics, and engine options........ but the truth is many people just want a dependable simple car
I don’t even know why people want fast cars. First of all, they’re going to be the ones who drive like a**holes on the road. Second, they’ll waste more fuel. Third, insurance cost, and more. If you want to feel speed, go to a racetrack. If you want to shoot 500 rounds out of a machine gun, keep it in the gun range.
@Chooey Sooares Depends what you expect as electric from Toyota. Hydrogen? yes, Batteries? no. Sadly Toyota is too rigid and stubborn to switch to battery powered which will most likely be the mainstream electric car of the future.
Even a very unreliable car will still get you around 99% of the time. Toyotas are boring 100% of the time. I'll trade a little bit of reliability for something I actually ENJOY driving.
I hope Toyota never stops making the Camry. I have a 2015 XSE V6 and in the future I’m hoping on switching to a new XSE V6 just because I love the camry so much.
And that's why we lost all of our 50 year old car industry when GM pulled the plug despite all the government largesse lavished on them. No more GM products for me, and the rest of Australia! I now drive a hybrid Camry and think it terrific! So do all our cab drivers in this country!
Norm T If they couldn’t top Toyota on an ICE sedan like the Corolla, I wouldn’t put my money on them trying to dominate BEV and AV lol. What track record of success does GM have? Their track record is taking corporate welfare checks and running off with the money 😂
I had a Toyota but wanted something else for fun - bought another car - broke down a few times and lost many hours in the shop - came back to Toyota. I feel many people have experienced this loop.
Same. I had an 86 twin. Which was reliable until i mildly modified it with a turbocharger kit. The motor was kicking strong but it was little issues like hoses and leaking oil. I sold it and got a camry. It's not as fun but i love it because i can take it all over town without worrying about it
Let's face it, if you made low cost high quality reliable and affordable vehicle then nobody cares how bland it's design is. People will come back to you
I have 2008, 120K camry. It runs like new and still very quiet. The only reason you replace it is the design gets too old or you total it. It is made in USA.
We still have our brand new dealer bought 2004 Toyota Camry. It has never let us down even at its old age of 102,000 miles in LA. The money saved we put in the market. A better investment than a new car every 5 years. We're not older just wiser ones in our 40's And indeed! We have *nobody* to impress. Like posers that live paycheck to paycheck but have to have the fanciest car of the year.
@@kylemontano228 Slow stop-and-go traffic combined with a lot of idling and city commutes is much more punishing to a car than say highway driving. 102,000 in LA traffic may as well be 300,000 on the highway.
Brutal indeed. But unlike most other cars, Camrys can take it. Siennas can take it. *corollas* can take it. Thats why cab companies love them. They are the cheapest to operate. Its perplexing that they arent more common in commercial use.
mariofan200 just nonthing I said what’s boring about a reliable car? Meaning the engine not the interior. A Camry will hold you down through tough times. Everything will break except the Camry.
Hey! I just remembered - there was some civil/revolutionary war in Central America back in the 80's where the rebels used Toyota pickup trucks, while the government used tanks. The rebels won.
Honestly, I absolutely love the look of the new generation Toyota camry, it doesn't look like an "economy" sedan at all and has a rather sporty & high-end look to it
Parents purchased a new Toyota Camry in the year 2000. It’s been on road trips, never broke down . 20 years later and everything still works . Hands down the most reliable car 👍
After countless issues with the American car I had, I was tired of spending more money on repairs than the car was worth so I sold it, and I bought a Camry. I always say, it’s no racer and it may be somewhat boring, but it’ll never stop running. It’s one of the few cars that comes with reliability as standard.
Yeah they're trying to peddle car manufacturers line that everybody wants to buy an expensive SUV or pickup (and that you should too), when the actual data doesn't support it.
It's more along the lines of, Camrys are cars that people need to have. Dependable and they don't break. There are a lot of far more exciting cars that people "want" to own, you just need to be wealthy to afford to do so.
The RV4 is now the most selling Toyota vehicle, I think the line was a rip off from Yogi Berra "nobody goes there anymore, it is too crowded" www.reuters.com/article/autosalesusa-top20-idUSL4N29B376
One word. Reliability. We had a 1990 Camry for about 10 years before we traded it in for the new RAV4. In those 10 years the only thing that failed in it's later years was it's battery which was understandable due to it's age but easy to replace. Never had any engine problems with the car at all. Did yearly maintenance, oil change, tire rotation, fluids, etc.... ran without a problem.
I build them everyday in Georgetown, KY. Attention to detail and the systems they have in place is what keeps it going. Wait till the AWD Camry comes out, we just started building them.
@R Del Silva Toyota only makes V6. There's little need to add more cylinders if you can make the existing ones larger. The only advantage V8 have is sounding better.
@Cuthbert Bracegirdle It's not a lot faster at all. The ES 350 has 1 more HP than the V6 Camry and does 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. The Camry does 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and only has 301 hp.
I wished I bought a Camry instead of GM chevy malibu. Now I'm paying 5 gran to fix broken pistons on the Malibu. DO NOT BUY AMERICAN BRANDS!!!! They won't last past 60K miles or 4 years.
I must be an odd customer, I find the Camry line to be one of the most attractive vehicles on the market solely because of that reliability and to a certain extent their 'muted' appearance. As someone with a heavy foot, having a vehicle which does not draw attention can be a blessing.
MY LIFE IS A MEME MY LIFE IS PATHETIC Agreed! My family pretty much only has Honda's and Toyota's and never thinks about getting American! The Japanese automakers know where's its at with their fuel efficient, dependable and reliable cars! GM and Ford need to bring up their standard of quality in order to have a chance of being able to compete against the great titans of Honda and Toyota!
After 6 F-150's each reaching over 170k miles each, used in the oil field and travel I have replaced a water pump and front differential. I have been left on the side of the road 2x by two different Tacomas (both under 100K) and once by a Ram 1500 (under 80K). I run 80k miles a year for work and work in very remote areas so I need a vehicle that just runs and I haven't had luck with the legendary Tacoma. Luck of the draw I guess.
Back in 1984 I purchased the 1984 Camry over the Honda Accord and the Mazda 626, little that I knew I drove past 300k miles effortlessly. All of my college age kids are now driving Camry to school.the amazing sedan with history.
I still own a 1987 Toyota Camry with 241,000 miles with the original engine and 5-speed manual transaxle. I absolutely love this car. While its styling may not have turned heads in 1987, it’s more visible now since it clashes with all of the soulless crossovers on the road.
My Aunt had a 1998 Toyota Camry for 20 years. And my 2002 Toyota Camry is still going pretty well. Camrys last for a very long time I still see a lot of older ones on the road.
Bought a Camry in 2011. 125K Kms. The only mechanical fault I had so far is that my windshield washer motor stopped working, one of my charging ports got messed up. Also, I have done 90% of the periodical service in an authorized Toyota service center. Even though a bit costly, I think it helped to prolonged the car's life.
@@Itz_tony0_0 How many of them can do those mile. Question is not the miles but how many services you got before that huge miles. That's where Camry pulls away. You can get 450k miles in a unreliable car if you've got money to spend on maintenance.

Some of the statements in video aren't even laughable or controversial, they are just plain stupid. Camry never was a boring car, a lot of people still want to buy it (check the same sale numbers you provide) and it's not going anywhere neither in this decade, nor in next to come. Despite the title, this video cannot make its point but rather keeps the pedaling of the SUV BS. The fact that casual majority in US felt for SUV trend (which are boring AF!) doesn't mean that sedans are dying. You know, there's still a bit of other world outside of US, as well as a lot of people inside, that have their own head and taste and would never trade an experience and engagement of driving a sedan for the garbage SUV, just because it's popular.
I bought a 2008 salvaged Camry LE in 2017 with 144,000 miles because I was willing to trust the fact that it’s a reliable car. Now almost 6 years later the car has 223,000 miles and It’s still going strong with minimal maintainance, I need to upgrade a few things on it but overall it gets me where I need to go as long as the oil is clean and the tank has gas. My next car is most likely going to be a 2018 Camry or something like that whenever it’s time to upgrade. I love my Camry it’s been through so much!
Love my 2007 camry best investment I ever made on a car and I have no intention of sale it, prefer to keep it for another 17 years or 1 million miles whichever comes first.
Ha that's not gonna happen I'm afraid bud. That particular '07 model has a 2.4L engine that's been known notoriously for its oil-burning problems. Engine code is 2AZ-FE, look it up, it's a major problem. It's something to do with the way Toyota designed the cylinder heads not being able to seal oil completely. Later Camry uses a different 2.5L engine that's relatively bullet-proof. If you currently don't have this problem then great, but it's just a matter of time before this issue catches up on you.
TOYOTA had a recalled about the oil consumption and I had my done by the dealer and now I don’t even lose a drop of oil.Toyota paid for the labor and parts.

The new Camry really is a good looking car. It carries over the winning combination of a good naturally aspirated engine, and a solid automatic transmission. With its new market share, many people who buy (IMO) lesser quality American sedans are going to be very impressed at how good a Toyota rides, and feels; possibly converting them to Toyota/Lexus for life.

We had a an 07, burned so much oil with only 62k miles.
@@Fadic4 are you a girl?
Ha that's not gonna happen I'm afraid bud. That particular '07 model has a 2.4L engine that's been known notoriously for its oil-burning problems. Engine code is 2AZ-FE, look it up, it's a major problem. It's something to do with the way Toyota designed the cylinder heads not being able to seal oil completely. Later Camry uses a different 2.5L engine that's relatively bullet-proof.
If you currently don't have this problem then great, but it's just a matter of time before this issue catches up on you.
Broke ass bum buy a mustang ffs if you are a real man
TOYOTA had a recalled about the oil consumption and I had my done by the dealer and now I don’t even lose a drop of oil.Toyota paid for the labor and parts.
Scotty be like " I had a customer who had a Toyota since the T-Rex ruled the earth'
Lord Katakuri that dude cracks me up
Warm up your engine
Scotty!!
Proud owner of 2007 Camry automatic 😍 From India, Kerala.
I rented one of these 2 years ago and took on a cross country road trip. Got 42mpg and it was very comfortable, even the base 2.4 200hp was powerful enough.
200bhp? Why does anyone need that much power to get a car to 70mph? I don't understand it, our speed limits are the same in Europe, half that bhp works for us, incredible. Amazing mpg though, especially if USA gallons.
@@megapangolin1093 I agree, but Americans like power and torque. My daily only has 170bhp and it’s adequate for a 4 cylinder 3,500lb car. I personally care more about safety, reliability and fuel economy than performance.
“Nobody really wants to own a Toyota Camry” except me, I want to own a Toyota Camry. I currently own a 2006 Solara (basically a Camry Coupe) and I absolutely love it.
bro I want a 2008 solara convertible with a V6 so bad
@@IIOctaneII If you can find one get one. Mine is a hardtop with the 4-cylinder. They are rock solid cars.
I bought my Camry in 1994 and it’s still going. I love it.
I have a 1994 too. Awesome cars!
@@rubenmarino1999 I have a 1995 and currently using it for deliveries and it never let me down even if the car was to break down its usually very cheap and easy to maintain
wow. thats astonishing..hats off to toyota.
Have a 94 xle v6 with 243K miles and it still runs great & is our city car.
"Let's face it. No one wants to own a Camry"
This guy drives a Mercedes for sure.
@guy proulx The original commenter is simply quoting the documentaries.
There are two types of Mercedes owners,
People that buy them because they want a Mercedes
And People that buy them because they want a nice, sporty, comfortable car that will run forever.
(Also used Mercedes are surprisingly affordable, same goes for Audis)
I would own a V6 one if I could, I have a soft spot for V6 midsized sedans. Do wish they still made a Camry wagon though as it would be a great daily.

Pick one.
I always wanted one since seeing the 06-11 model around 2008. Loved the styling! 11 years later I finally got one, a 2010 2.4 GL. Love it. Reliabiity and comfort are most important to me so fits the bill perfectly.
It has been a childhood dream to own a Camry🙏
I never understood why some call it boring, it's a complete package for the money, & ton's of fun😎
Fun?
You have to bring the fun with you :)
I love my 2017 Camry. It’s very spacious and comfortable
I’m in love with my 2016 SE as well.
We just bought a 2020 Camry SE, 2.5L I4 and 8 speed automatic. The acceleration for this base model surprises me, and it has many great features. It is an excellent drive. I actually don't like the change in exterior design, besides the alloy wheels, but I spend more time inside of it than looking at the outside.

Woof Woof he would say that you bought the best car on the market.
@@tonyb731
Not sure but he did say to wait a few years for a new model to consider buying it
For example if you buy a 2017/16 Camry this year it is a safer purchase due to notoriety of modern car reliability
Rev up your engines!
Camry is one of the best looking and comfortable in the medium sedan market. Its fast enough, has better tech standard than any competitor, and best in class trunk space.
it wasnt boring at all before, it was its art and inspiration for friendly owners and its safety, now its even better than before
The new Camry really is a good looking car.
I love my 19 Camry, black on black on everything looks so good
My 2012 Camry Hybrid has never had any reliability issues. It does have a quirky fuel guage that doesn't go back up after refueling if I've let it run down too low, but a quiet and powerful enough car for my use. Hybrid gives mileage equivalent of a small hatchback, and I actually LOVE the design. Never seen anything better looking in its class and age.
My daily driver is a 1997 Camry I love it and will buy another Camry as long as they make them and im still alive.
I've owned most of Toyota vehicles including Corolla,Camry,Highlander currently driving an Avalon Limited Edition fully loaded its been amazing ride. Was going to upgrade to a Lexus but Avalon has more features at a lower price.Toyota has been reliable, safe, comfortable for my family for years.
I think they kinda messed up on the new avalon front bumper grill! Not attractive to me. Avalon is built like a tank. It does not break!!!!
