Fun fact: Maya Rudolph is her daughter and she used to sing this to her as a lullaby when she was a baby. If you listen at the end you can hear her singing "Maya Maya" over and over again. So sad that she died in her early 30's from cancer. She had an amazing voice. Great song pick and reaction!! 🙂
I agree with everything you say about the machines ruining the feelings and emotions you get from these classic songs it's beautiful because it was raw talent and heartfelt passion ❤️
I was around when this song was out and I can tell you it was used to exactly as she stated. "Every time we Woo I'm more in love with you........lol. You're absolutely right about something being missing when technology takes over the actual performance. Great review of one of the classics.
That high note she hit is referred to as the “Whistle note”. Other singers known for hitting that note are: Minnie was the first, Mariah Carey, and Chante Moore 2023 Soul Train Awards performance just killed the whistle note! Definitely should do a reaction to that Chante Moore performance!
100% agree with you! It was organic then. Emotion was real. Talent was real. Harder to connect with digitally enhanced music. In the 70's, they sounded the same live and in person. Great reaction.
Really loved your reaction, and you actually had something to say about the music. I also like the way you wondered about the time period it was produced in; that really gave your review an interesting perspective.
She’s the one that inspired Mariah to learn it and Mariah was 5 when this came out so obviously it was before her lol. It was not about the birth of her daughter it was about being in love and sex. She added her daughters name to a live performance which put does this one by far
More Minnie. adventures in paradise, could it be I'm in love, baby this love I have, inside my love will send you there too. Oh, can you feel what I'm saying?
There is someone that sang this song in a different vission, I have tried searching but I can't find it can anyone help me find it...it's just different from all these vissions.,but nice beat
Classic is one of a kind that blows your mind. Get it.

Only 31😢 she was a beautiful soul and obviously loved her family..
The 70s wasn’t censored it was just how you delivered a message; with class. Artist…especially Soul, Pop artist weren’t about being raunchy.

Need to watch live performance same song u hear uniqueness of her voice whistle tone
This song was written by her with her husband for her husband
I’m glad to hear your comments about the human touch in music.
Isn’t the reason for music that we need something to touch our hearts and our souls?
Back Down Memory Lane is another beautiful song by Minnie done in 1979 while in the advance stages of her cancer.
Rest in peace mini. We miss you so much.
This was play night clubs school dance house party. People was just falling in love as for .
As I can remember.

MTV came out in the 80's. Most videos before then are recording of studio music over live performances. 🙂
I laugh at the exact same time you did when she went ooohh
I wish u reacted to the live version of this. Even better than the original
Richard Rudolph-Minnie Riperton's husband is playing the guitar. Minnie passed at the age of 30.

No monotone or Auto-Tune...yay😊
That one verse she sings while looking right down the camera...
If anyone looks at you the way she looks at the camera then grab them hold them tight.
See the video where she performed on The Midnight Special, 1975, this same song.
More Minnie. adventures in paradise, could it be I'm in love, baby this love I have, inside my love will send you there too. Oh, can you feel what I'm saying?
