Ah the late 80's/early 90's were a great time. Easy to get an apartment anywhere in NYC and for a good price. This apartment would be unaffordable today.
I was a doorman in a building on 92nd park ave nearly 100% of tenants were Jewish great people, everything was delivered, groceries, pharmacy, liquor, taxi service, laundry, what a great life.
@odeerg They all changed in the later seasons. In the beginning they were all fairly normal, nice people who hung out together...except for Kramer who was a bit eccentric. Then later on, they all became pretty mean, bitter and selfish. That’s kind of the whole point of the ending of the show. The judge basically found them to be horrible people and sentenced them to a year in jail hoping that would help them to change their ways.
to be honest, as someone who had lived 10 years with linoleum on the floor and another 20 with quality wood on the floor I will always take linoleum over wood, for many reasons: easier to clean, easier to replace, and cheaper. I am sitting right now on a wooden floor and it has cracks in many places, and the planks screech, and some of them have sunk into the... whatever the hell is between them and the floor. Yeah, I'll take the linoleum any day..
typical for people with money. You can't blame him, most of us would do that. And I will DEFINITELY do it once I get enough money to have my own servants... if that ever happens xD
When I was a kid, my best friend's home had a fireplace with a bench like that in the living room. It was nice to sit in front of during cold winters. This was a home in Salt Lake City UT though, not an apartment.
The TV Guide commemorative issue that was published shortly before the final few episodes aired said that George was an "egotistical, self-pitying, pathetic man. But next to him don't we all look great? Maybe that's why Jerry keeps him around."
@@ryanloftis1125 Jerry is the most successful of the 4, but he does seem to enjoy their company. His character would have seemed to outgrown the other 3 though.
Jerry, Elaine, Kramer and George were all good friends even if 3 out of the 4 in their group weren't the most respectable people. I like the episodes where all 4 are hanging out together outside of the coffee shop.
Tony Settle down there tough guy 😂I like her character. I bet you’re the guy who’s stuck in the friend zone for 5+ years waiting for “the one”, even though she’s railed out like 100+ guys before you. The fuck outta here 😂
Linoleum supposed to look like hardwood flooring. No one notices it bubbling up all over the place. Yeah I know it's just serving a purpose for the scene.
@@holden_ they were getting horribly low ratings season one and two. When they didn’t the masturbation episode is when the show finally started to take off. The over the top craziness is what kept them on the air another 6 seasons.
I on the other hand, thought it was very nice they notified us about the end of part 1 and the beginning of part 2. Wouldn't have noticed it if they didn't highlight it.

Yep my guess is like around 5 Grand a month, considering if it’s in the City.
@@My-Bullet-Hit-A-StarJesus even 2 years ago it was cheaper than now. I’d say this is like 7.5k a month in 2024
This is from 1990, I mean wow, just wow ... Seinfeld has aged very well, what an amazing legacy for the writers and performers.
Jerry never realized If he moved there than no more Kramer to annoy him
Damn, George didnt know shit about the apartment... he definitely wasn’t good at real estate
George is just like a friend of mine, who's not good at anything. And, yeah, that's George too ...
Yeah he was surprised about everything lol that killed me
I have plants **snort**
I forgot about this scene Seinfeld changed so much
That hug, I felt that!

The Woody Allen version of George before the Larry David version.
I was never realy fond of George "Woody" Costanza...
First couple seasons Elaine was sweeter and naive
@odeerg I didn't like how she kinda hated George

@odeerg kind of like Julia Louis Dreyfus

Well said. I also think the evolution of the characters was representative of what big city life does to people over time.
I never noticed how clearly fake that 'wood' floor is

Sitcom sets aren't going to use real wood for one scene 😅 it's painted on

is it just me or is it a bit strange to have a fireplace bench height

He decided to take it without even seeing the rest of the apartment...
First time I saw this back in like 2002 2003 I figured it was one of the last episodes. Funny how it's exactly the 2nd episode.
😂😂😂😂
Only pure joy 👍🏾
This version of George gives me Jonathan Lipnicki vibes 😂😂
Dam, Jerry was feisty in this episode. Elaine Bennet he says, like Kramer one other time.

Seinfeld so good before it became big. Nothing too over-the-top, just everyday funny situations.
Don't you think season 5 and season 6 are great?
@@dionhodge903 Sure, I have the entire series. There's just something special about less laugh-track and plausible situational humor, imo.

season 1 episode 3 "The Robbery"
