- Sport utility vehicles continue to gain in their popularity primarily because of their practicality and sensibility. But every once in a while, an SUV comes along that’s not really all that sensible at all, but a whole lot of fun. So, let’s see what happens when @Cadillac puts the V in Escalade. #Cadillac #Escalade #CadillacEscalade #EscaladeV

John Davis still killing it after 40 years. Love the show.
4.4 seconds to 60 and 107 feet from 60 in something the size of the moon...what a day to be alive...
Unreal huh?, So awesome and probably one of the last big supercharged v8 monsters we will probably ever see in our generation...
This made me laugh so hard! Life can be cool sometimes!
I see it being a definite collector's item in the future.
Right? I remember when those numbers were supercars territory
I think the 107ft stop from 60 is probably the most impressive. 6200lbs. Wow.
It's a miracle!
Drop the anchor! Ahaha surprised the brake test didn’t have a 90ft rut from one digging along
Stops incredibly well!
Yeah, when I thought 4.4 and 12.7 were amazing like how the hell do you stop that from 60 in 107’ that’s amazing
Great to see John at the helm in this video!!! All the best to him and MW.
Thats a BEAST! Happy to see it's not electric!
well......... there is one now
Wow, just wow. 36 speakers? 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, 1/4 in 12.7. The cars we getting seem like the last hurrah of ICE era.
4.4 is slow in 2022 standards. This isn't 2012 anymore
@@yudhabagaskara98 Wrong. That's a very fast time for ANY vehicle weighing nearly 3 tons. This is a 5900 lb body on frame truck that can carry up to eight people, comfortably. You've been watching too many Fast and Furious movies.
@@ash27slick74 You think this will be in CSR2?
@@ash27slick74 what's funny is this thing will outperform most of the "fast and furious" cars 😅.
ICE vehicles will live on WELL beyond the EV fiasco that many are wrongly betting on. EVs are fool’s gold.
Astonishing performance, especially braking.(the rotors but be the size of those on a Kenworth). But holy mother of squat! The front end lifts like it is preparing for take off!
That thing squats.
The new front end on Cadillacs is awesome. 😇
I had a 1st gen CTS with the 3.6. It was a fast enough car for me and still one of the fastest cars i've ever owned, but these things are unreal.
Damn you've been owning some slow ass cars if that POS 3.6 was considered fast. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Spoiler alert 🖕👎
That is one fast school bus.
You better be ready to assist with Vaseline once the warranty goes out. So much technology in cadillac vehicles.
And just wait for the estimate when the transmission grenades from all that HP.
@@jaydibernardo4320it’s an LS based engine lmfao stock bottom ends can handle 1000hp💀
Take that environment!!!!!
6.2 liters of glorious insanity!!!! 😘
Lol that is what all the govt leaders and celebrities say when they fly their private jets around the world to climate conferences.
@@austinfrazier7325Exactly. Hypocrites. With Audacities
Love the Escalade. I have loved them since the 2007 model year. I own a 2008 EXT which I have had almost since brand new. I bought it in 2012 with 30K miles. I like the EXT because I occasional need the cargo space of a pick up truck. I had a 2007 Avalanche LTZ prior to the EXT. It just hit 100K miles and still looks like new. I have done a few "wear item" repairs on it over the years. Front CV axles as well as new springs/shocks up front and air ride shocks in the back, various suspension related bushings, etc.. It rides almost like new. 6.2 and all wheel drive, this thing pulls my 10,000 pound "go-fast" boat up a wet ramp like nothing. I will never get rid of it...unless of course GM makes a new Escalade EXT which they won't so.....I'll run mine until parts are no longer available. Tri-coat pearl white and ebony interior, factory retracting running boards....such a smooth looking truck. I wish Cadillac would have kept the front fender vents on the Escalade....they make the truck look just a little more intimidating. LOL
Yes those are good trucks 💯
Unreal performance from a 3-ton SUV! Just Wow! Of course, starting at $150,990 is a steep price however it will mean these will be far and few between!
Look at that front lift up from the line...wild!
That's an amazing vehicle....
The front of the new Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade really lifts up though im surprised they couldn't tune the air suspension to lower a little for full acceleration or something. I saw a video of it racing a 1/4 mile against a Navigator and the Navigator stayed completely flat
Imagine pulling up to a stop light beside of this behemoth in your average new pocket rocket which is pretty quick in and of itself, needing to get over into the behemoths lane , and at the green light getting your doors blown off and having to pull in behind him instead of in front like you had planned on. LOL
Hahaha now this is how I should drive my kids to school! Drags from red lights, sudden braking, and slalom course driving! I would get the esv!
sounds really good
Was the engine coolant supposed to be bubbling in the reservoir?
I noticed that too. Maybe it doubles as a bong.
@@jaydibernardo4320 😂
That's just to remind you it's a GM
Wow...over 3 tons, 0-60 in 4.4 sec, plenty of technology, and won't burn your house down!
And to think many of us thought the old k-5 blazers had lots of power My how far we have come
The Escalade V has a better Ride and Handling and a better Stereo System than the Rolls Royce Cullinan !
So much for the Raptor and T-Rex... I'll take this V
The front looks a smidgen better, but I do like the overall styling, interior, and performance of course. Beyond that 150k is over priced for sure or exclusive and my gas budget just jumped. A blacked out Escalade for the town on the weekends.
I was at my local Caddy dealer looking. They said the Escalade has been their #1 Best Seller since 2021. They can't get them in fast enough. They're demanding $5k over sticker!
GM being a socially and environmentally responsible manufacturer once again! But what do you expect from the creators of the Hummer EV? 🤣
They also make a Diesel version. 😂
@@toronado455The Diesel Version gets better mpg though
What's next a Raptor Navigator?
Id love a Raptor R Navigator with the 700HP 5.2L supercharged V8, 4 corner air suspension etc
At 1:14 I think that Engine was Overheating or is that's The Supercharger Coolant running ?
Congratulations to those of you who can afford (ahumm lease) it.
Me gusta cadillac escalade
There is literally no good reason why this car should exist, but I’m glad it does.
"no good reason"?
While we had others like the Dodge Ram with the Viper Engine? And the F150 Lightning?
And the Dodge Durango Hellcats?
I guess NASCAR will allow this heap to replace the current Camaro.
That's a thought!
Make it the Official Pace Car!
Why tf would you call it "heap"?
Beast 👍
Some of the peeps in the comments are so effin ungrateful that we got stuff like this.
Lame.
I seen one on these on the 10 frwy in LA yesterday afternoon And wow! The driver was accelerating and lane changing like a Hellcat driver 😮
Hi friend. I ordered one for myself, but according to the review, I don't see if the rear-wheel drive mode is still there. Can you tell me?
FYI, these aren’t selling for anywhere near msrp if 151k isn’t eye watering enough, expect to pay at least 25-50k markup depending on where u live, not that is a deal breaker for these targeted buyers, and it definitely isn’t their only ride..
13mpg combined. 😂😂😂
Prepare to stop at every gas station.
I just saw a jeep grand wagoneer L with the new Hurricane 3.0L twin turbo I6 and its impressive! 0-60 in 4.8 seconds.
36 speakers, Not enough. I would buy if it had say 40 speakers LOL
I require a minimum of 5 speakers per passenger 💅
seems to break the laws of physics - frightening!
this car is my dream. fabulous
A boat anchor is your dream car? Why not a Corvette or even Camaro?
@@TheCarCrazyGuy my friend I loved comfort and travel for many miles. escalade is the best car for it.
Surprised that the towing capacity is only 7000 LBS. Just as a reference, 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood could tow 7000 LBS. Of course not as fast as the Escalade.
You would beat terminator mustangs more often than not. That is crazy and the price is crazy also. It does look nasty in the first 60’ with the front all raised up. From the 4.4 0-60 I was guessing 12.6 then 12.8 and I’ll be damned 12.7 and wow 111 mph I wasn’t sure on that. Then fuel I was guessing 13 city but 11 city and I thought maybe 17 highway but that’s what an avalanche from 04 with na 5.3 gets so no, 15 highway lol and the 13 I was talking combined which all makes sense. That would tow the hell out of a boat to the lake while outrunning.. a lot of stuff haha 🤡
SUV's are gaining in popularity because of having an ICE rather than being electric and choices for sedans (American) are limited.
That's one fast, Woolly Mammoth!!!
The track launch on the Escalade V is amazing (the front rides high from so much pull), and a 107 ft. 60-0 brake distance is better than many sports cars with 6,200 lbs!
I like my Escalade ESV. Would I get the V at $150k?
Hell no. For just an engine, brake, and handling upgrade it's not worth it. The interior is exactly the same as the base model. The build quality isn't bad (best for caddy so far) but it's still GM build quality.
I think they wanted some of that SUV AMG and M badge money. Those can reach 165k no problem. Only way they could charge 150k for an Escalade was put this engine in it.
This is ridiculous... I want one... I can't afford one
Keeping the C7 Corvette Z06 engine alive.
Top 5 luxury cars that make you feel like the most powerful President in the world/king of the world.
1 Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum
2 Cadillac Escalade V
3 rolls-Royce phantom
4 Bentley flying spur
5 Mercedes Maybach
Did anyone notice the red liquuid shaking vigorously on idle?
It’s a badass looking suv, but I couldn’t justify the price for a better engine over the standard Escalade. I’d rather save money and buy an Audi SQ7 or the I6 Grand Wagoneer which isn’t much slower at least to 60.
Wagoneer???
I’m gonna laugh at the driver for spending $150k on this when I see one on the street. 🤦🏻♂️
Ehh hem, that's Starting (base) Price. My Dealer can't get them in quick enough, plus charges $5k over Sticker!
0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds? That’s more than some normal sports cars.
Too bad it didn't more torque than horsepower.
Maybe even a Hell Cat Grand Wagoneer.
Yes 💪
Damn! What a monster! But wayyyy too expensive! Noooo
This is better than euro junk
11 MPG LOL now these days with high price gas. Fast alright haul azz to the gas station faster before it runs out of gas.
& 93 Octane Premium required.
John Davis IS automotive!!!
Hearing this thing make the sound like a Camaro ZL1😂😂😂😂
Man he is Paul Heyman 😂
No reason for huge SUV to be this fast if you want a sports car buy one... Same with the hummer ev pointless when a turn comes your slower than a Corolla.
There's no point to most luxury items in the world.
No manual option?
Beautiful
Nice, if one can afford it. Plenty out there can.
Future collectible of the year 😂😂😂
Sounds like it needs a new belt or pulley
❤️❤️❤️
$150k for a SUV?! Wow I rather buy a house with that money 😊
The Car everybody loves but I think nobody gonna buy it. Too big, nobody really need that much space for a SUV, performance wise I would get ZL1 for 1/3 of the price. Yeah, future collectible, how many people are that rich to have 150K+ throwing around?
It only took 15 years
Voracious Escalade
I wish for once he would shut up doing the 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile run.
Is that all you care about? There's some more to a vehicle than just that.
@@ash27slick74 They mean they want to listen to the engine noise - and that's a pretty important thing to people in a performance SUV.
@@ImmortanDan Yes, and also show us a complete run. Not all these launch clips from different angles.
It’s an impressive SUV.
The price, however, unbelievable. 😢
American autos are now price matching the Europeans! Why 🤷♂️?
It’s great for those that want one, I like to keep the sadden, but I cant see paying for a 150K, I almost purchased one a couple of years ago for 100K, I didnt like that price.
Can’t wait to pick this up in 10 years for 10k
The Cadillac Escalade will depreciate like any other vehicle but THIS PARTICULAR ONE most likely will be a collector's item. Kind of like the great Toyota Supra of the '90s.
Wishful thinking, my 2013 platinum was valued at 34k. Having said though it has very little miles.
@@masterchief9005 when did u buy it?
@@jake2772 near the end of 2013 I bought my Escalade Platinum. Carmax offered me 34k for it earlier this year. Zero problems with the suv, no accidents, just one owner, 38k miles. Not sure what they would offer today as this was when used cars were going for crazy prices. I was just making a point that nearly a decade later, it was no where near just 10k.
Now if I had put 100k plus miles on it, had any major repairs or accidents then it would probably be much much lower and perhaps closer to 10k but I don't know. I do think the Escalade V if properly taken care of will hold its value much more then regular Escalades over time.
@ASH27 Slick They actually do not depreciate fast. I don't know where you got that from.
2:43 well shut up and let us hear it!!!
Ok but what is the gas mileage on this? Gas is jumping back up to $5.00 a gallon. I love this vehicle but it’s needing a hybrid or electric version
Yeah so even more can go wrong on it…
Did you watch the video?
Suburban-sized ESV version LOL. This thing is just as goofy as the Hummer EV.
Why can’t American car makers put their cheap interiors behind them? Even JD acknowledged this in the review.
1:48 Thanks for FINALLY calling it what it is: an OBNOXIOUS ROAR instead of using faux meaningless terms like “sporty”.
Wonder how it Rock crawls?
If you're buying this to rock crawl please... DON'T PROCREATE.
Get a raptor or T-rex and crawl away....lol 😆
This thing is just absolutely freaking stupid. Still, if I won the lottery, I'd probably own one.
And selling for a cool 250K on eBay 😂😂😂😂😂
Lol really?? That's is crazy.
YEEEEESSSS!!!!!! JOHN DAVIS IS BACK!!! 🥲
Is the coolent in the resivoir supposed to jiggle around in their like that?!
Sorry but over 6 figures for an American vehicle is absurd. Same displacement as the hellcat engine but couldn't even match or exceed their 707. Way too overpriced for something that will drop 30% in value driving it off the lot.
Naw this will likely be a collector's vehicle considering the next Escalade will be all electric, according to Cadillac. So it will not have a hard fall in depreciation.
My mind has apparently gone electric. I don't understand the point of this vehicle whatsoever. This was further confirmed when I saw it going through the slalom. It's like racing a cruise ship.
There isn't any point to the electric Hummer EV either for that matter. But hopefully GM will be producing some smaller more practical electric SUVs soon.
Electric is a fad. There will another fuel source that will replace them.
Not for that price.
Electric ev would weigh 10 tons
The wheels are ugly. Should have been a five or six spoke.
That front grille and small headlights. I'm not a huge fan. And the rear is hideous
11 city XD
It seems crazy to spend $150,000 on a GM product. Overtime it will become a expensive pile of rust.
American muscle nothing like it in the world.. I think it can get even faster with a stage 3 super turbo charger.. 🤣🤣😂😂
Moving 3 plus tons at 4.4 to 60 that's Bugatti numbers 🤣😂😂🤣 much cheaper and better fuel economy. 🤣😂
Optimus Prime looking front end and it's low hanging IRS lower control arms is a no go for me. I would much rather spend that kind of money on a Cayenne or Rover.
Grotesque.
Shit like this should honestly be illegal
@@scottwittla why?
