We get good healthcare in Thailand in a rural area; I think one of the commentors also said this. Its not free though as we pay health insurance to the local government every year and it only covers so much (think of it as basic/emergency cover) and anything medically expensive you have to pay, which is fair. The doctor looks at the guys family or friends and says who will pay the bill, is there any insurance? no response, so the doctor stops the hand pump and that was it.. guy was gone. Just wondering where in Quezon City you’re staying. Because if you’re still in QC and something happens again or any emergency (hopefully not), there’s a St. Luke’s Hospital located in España Ext. It’s the original hospital before they built another one in the Global City.
Hi Tom, Very happy that you are okay now. I have worked in healthcare for over 30 years here in the US. I don’t think at your age it was your heart. With the low blood pressure I think you were dehydrated or had an illness from something you ate.?.? I would get checked out and get a full physical and heart exam at a good facility. Better to be cautious. Every city has good and bad health care facilities. I would learn where the good ones are in any city I live in. That goes double if you are 60 years old or older. You don’t want to try to figure out what hospital is good or bad once you are sick. Know ahead of time.
Thank you for this very informative useful live saving blog. Thank God you both decided to checkout from tat so called fmly hospital/clinic. Thank God for His divine intervention. Meanwhile God bless. and hope all will be well for you both
Because of our age and medical history, we decided not to retire in the philippines. Although the philippines is one of the countries that sends nurses and other medically skilled workers around the globe and the philippines is left of underpaid nurses...sad but it's the truth. They are also understaffed. Try to go to bigger hospital and well known hospital, you may have to pay more just to be sure. Don't take it for granted make an appointment with a cardiovascular doctor so you can have the necessary tests.
That's not true. I have an excellent doctor at Manila Doctors Hospital. My last doctor was also excellent. I have been here a few years now and I have gotten better care than I did in the US and it is a much better price. The bottom line: It cheaper than the USA and the care is BETTER. You get what you pay for- NEVER go to public hospitals. They are garbage.
Next time, if the place is untidy and questionable. Pls go to the nearby hospital where they have a regular ER and resident doctor. Your well-being is the most important. You can save more money if you choose a decent one. No more clinics next time😂. Yes,some hospitals in phils never use gloves due to the management budget. , not unless if you're in St. Luke or other high-end private hospitals.
I had the same symptoms, turned out I had a heart attack. Same exact symptoms. Those nurses saved your life and you don't even realize it. Sure the equip was old but they did what was needed for 1st treatment and stabilized you. You probably need a heart Stent. You need an echogram now to confirm the ekg results.
All the best Brother Tom💪🏽❤️take care and stop drink Alcohol!! and eat healthy. And take care of you boddy But you need too go too a good hospital or clinic And it's unbelievable that nurses don't know what they're doing, they need to be better trained Stopped to eat all that pork Also is not good Chicken, fish, vegetables, and a lot of fruit
Oh my Fom, sorry to hear about the horrendous experience but if it's a blocked artery you need to get proper tests done. My husband had a block artery which was a hesrt attack and had to do surgery, so better get your tests done early. Feel better.

There are some weird bugs and viruses around there, take care,

This should be a wake up call for all those guys who sing the praises of the Philippines. Generally the healthcare is below par.
Yes, Makati Med is about equal to a good US Hospital. The rich Filipinos use it. It is for sure the best hospital in the Philippines. I went there for a cyst on my back.
The hospital room looks like one in these abandoned hospital videos I watch. I noticed that she’s picking up on your accent, she’ll fit right in when she goes to Ireland.

Hello young shipmate Tom. Listen buddy get yourself to a 'good' hospital and get a full professional check-up ok. That is number one. Wow! Tom, I can’t imagine what you went through. The incompetence of those staff and the Dr. is beyond imaginable. I’m a nurse here in America for many years. It looks to me as though you were severely dehydrated at the time even though I don’t know your initial pressure under the chaos of mismanagement. Alcohol consumption can cause dehydration. Dehydration causes blood pressure to go down hence the dizziness result. At one point I heard that the nurse told your girlfriend that your blood pressure is very low at 100/ 60 after several attempts to squeeze the nurse to finally tell her. With an active person like you , I would consider that to be within normal limits. I would be curious what your EKG looked like as I am capable of interpreting it- part of my advance training. Nevertheless, I’m glad you’re okay despite your nightmarish experience. I agree to a follow up with a competent Doctor, not necessarily a cardiologist initially since I’m assuming you never had any medical heart issue in the past. Good luck. Hydrate meantime and stay off the booze for a couple of days and see how you feel. Okay? Good luck !You’ll be fine.
To me Tom. That hospital was going to keep you in no matter what. I was admitted to a hospital in Mandaue back in June 2019 when i dislocated my left shoulder n the hospital room not that clean and soo close to the traffic. I had to travel from Camotes Island to Danao City Emergency hospital n transfer to the city. Lucky Liza n her parents and sister Edebeth come with me. Such a nightmare Tom n doctors put my shoulder back in following day but did more damage inside the shoulder. I was operated on last year in February.
Tommy . You gotta lay off all the high salt high sugar stuff mate . Filipinos go to hospital with hypertension ( high salt) diabetes ( high sugar) and liver disease ( junk foods and high salt and msg ) . Kidney disease is very high all over the country. Hopefully you have your eye on all the food and stuff in Filipino salt diet .
"WooooW" 😮 you need to see an attorney sounds like you got bad treatment at the first place. The main thing is you now seem better thats the important parts. Can't wait to hear the results from the real hospital and doctors. Them dam Roman and junk food you eat going to kill you bro .😮 ❤ ❤ ❤
Im thinking of emigrating there soon (from UK) and have just found out i have heart trouble too but with very high blood pressure. When i went to the hospital Romford, London i had to wait 28hrs in the waiting room!! Although once in the system treatment was good and free (at point of service). Im gonna have some fun when i move tgere it seems.
Lay saved your life. Tom you are young and need to find out what is happening to your heart. I am planning a trip to the Philippines and know which hospital and insurance to purchase. I couldn't believe they didn't give you an EKG. I am very happy you are going to another hospital. Your clips look like you are in storage room and not a hospital. The new blood pressure devices go with your index finger inside a clip and goes on your hand. What a nightmare.
@Roaming Hogan. Woooow that sounds scary Tom and its like you where filming a part for the movie saw lol..😅😅 Jesus that was so expensive for all they done.😮
That hospital did look antiquated, and nurses not wearing gloves when inserting the canula into your arm was worrying. how clean was the canula?. I used to have low blood pressure but I didn't know about it, I suffered with anxiety so when I had panic attacks I would pass out, just drop instantly wherever I was. I didn't get any treatment for this I was just told I had low blood pressure and that causes dizziness and fainting. I think it stopped when the panic attacks stopped but it was a good year or so, up until then I had never fainted in my life I was in my thirties too, a similar age to yourself, but I was scared when I did as I had two young children at the time and on my own. Whenever I felt dizzy I would have to sit down immediately to prevent the fall as it hurts your head when you fall from the upright position.
When I was their I came down with bronchitis I went to St lukes and saw a good DR their that good care of me . If your eating lots of salt and drinking beer you may need a water pill to help you get rid of the extra water in your body like around your heart legs hands and feet
Wrong, in contrary he needs fluids, fluids and fluids. Dehydration can cause different symptoms like very low BP, fast heart rate, dizziness , severe weakness, fainting and lightheadedness. Never give any diuretics to a dehydrated patient because you can compromise his organs like kidneys. Instead, fluid resuscitation is immediately initiated. I know you had a very very bad experience but with the symptoms you presented plus your EKG result, you need to have it investigated by a competent facilicity. ❤❤❤
Top Hospitals In the Philippines: 1. Asian Hospital Alabang🎉 2. Makati Medical Center 3. St.Luke’s Hospital - QC St. Luke’s hospital BGC. 4. medical city This is in no particular order but we personally has been in Asian Hospital and me once in Makati Med for my leg X-ray when I fell from the stairs in my previous condo. This is the best to go to for whatever in the Philippines.
Healthcare quality can vary big time in the Philippine. Makati medical center is western standard for the most part, efforts should be made to find a good private hospital…Too many vloggers are show casing the best hospitals in the country, you experienced a middle of the road clinic. Far from the worst, the worst don’t have equipment…Your young for ischemia…smoking? History of bad habits may be catching up. It should be a wake up call.
You are just dehydrated.. that fucks with your potassium and sodium and other electrolytes, so important for muscle function. In the Philippines you get deehydrated without even realizing it.. I have to force myself to drink water at times… your young, I wouldn’t get too worried… ischemia is transient, it happens… when blood pressure drops, less blood is getting to the tissues so they have to function on a little less oxygen, or ischemic… drinking alcohol and coffee are very dehydrating, I live in Bohol and this heat is intense right now and you don’t even know its happening… be well my friend…
I’m assuming when you as a foreign patient turned up , someone maybe saw an opportunity.. each procedure would cost a certain amount, and to some , making you go through more procedures just adds to your bill - hence the pretty high rate you paid for no real CARE at all .. I’m not a medic , but I think 100/60 is at the lower end of the ‘normal’ bp range, and above 135/90 is at the higher end of the ‘normal’ scale .. I might be wrong but , I think they were really taking the piss .. well done for getting out of there before it got out of control!! 🙏..
Moral of the story, when you are in the Philippines always make sure you are aware of where the closest good private hospital is to where you are staying. That way in an emergency you can just go directly to a good hospital or medical centre and not the local hospital that caters to the poor.

So I had to overcome my own mind to get off the floor and then rest on my bed, until I calmed down. You're very lucky to have Lay to help you. I'm meeting my own girlfriend again soon in Philippines. Make sure to eat better and do training to keep healthy bro.
Yeah Tom, Eat healthy. No more Convenience store food, no more Alcohol. And start taking Vitamins. Don, CA.
Stop eating unhealthy noodles🤣🤣
His a Top Ramen lifer. Haha 😄 😊😅
Yea, aim higher don’t live in a third world country.
What a nightmare. You where lucky to Have Lay with you❤❤
I like Lay and her demeanor. She’s soft spoken. It’s good you went to a better hospital. Time to rethink of your diet. I’m not being intrusive Tom , just an advice from a subscriber. Been watching you for years and my first time to comment. Hope your relationship works out. Love watching you both. Take care!
@emmacanlapan5914 TOMMY IF YOU HAVE A BLOCKAGE IN YOUR MAiN ARTERY GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY AND GET IT FiXXXED IMMEDIATELY. I LOVE YOU MY BROTHER 💎🙌🏻💪💯 THEN YOU CAN BE LiKE OLD & WiSER LiKE BUDWiESER 👍
Soft spoken because she’s still trying to figure out how to speak English
My wife makes it clear that we need to be close to a good hospital when we make our final move..Seems like she might be correct..Glad you got past it...keep a bp machine handy,,they actually have the wrist ones that are small ,compact..And fingertip oxygen monitor,,both are inexpensive and easily fit in a backpack.
Yeh I would say she is right
Good luck at finding a good hospital let alone even a mediocre hospital in the Philippines
Do me a favor. Just eat well, exercise and stay away from stress and you'll avoid these hospital visits.
Glad ur okay!
🙏🏽🙏🏽🖤🩷
yesssss eat healthy u both👌👌👌no to unhealthy food u can eat inside the condo but healthy
Omggg what kind of clinic they're running there!!! Sounds like a horror movie story. hope you get better soon.
St Lukes is where you need to go in Manila ! -- Best in the entire country - right there.
The healthcare in the PH is third world. beside St Luke's, Makati Medical are okay when you have the money for it.
100/60. Is still fucking fine
Hope your on the mend soon young Tom. I need you to cheer me up as I have sever heart problems. Best wishes to you.
Stay away from meds it's the start of your downfall.
Good to know you are ok Tom and have Lay on your side.Stay healthy and get well soon.
Thanks
Good to know you’re doing alright, Tom! Thankful for Lay! ❤
You gotta stay away from those fish eyes Tom😂😮😢
All street food make your own 🦠🦠🦠🦠🦠🦠🦠they use to unsanitary you not.
Very scary 😧 glad you are ok brother !
Yes, thank you
Just wondering where in Quezon City you’re staying. Because if you’re still in QC and something happens again or any emergency (hopefully not), there’s a St. Luke’s Hospital located in España Ext. It’s the original hospital before they built another one in the Global City.
Hi Tom,
Very happy that you are okay now.
Get well soon
Thank you for this very informative useful live saving blog. Thank God you both decided to checkout from tat so called fmly hospital/clinic. Thank God for His divine intervention. Meanwhile God bless. and hope all will be well for you both
Do not go to ER, that wld cost u hefty amount of money, 20 k or so not including the Dr's fee and meds. Go strait to HEART Ctr at QC
They are garbage.
bring him to st.lukes for further check ups now , Lay, do it pls.
Luke or other high-end private hospitals.
next time , bring him to st. lukes, you will have a good check up
I had the same symptoms, turned out I had a heart attack. Same exact symptoms. Those nurses saved your life and you don't even realize it. Sure the equip was old but they did what was needed for 1st treatment and stabilized you. You probably need a heart Stent. You need an echogram now to confirm the ekg results.
Dapat lay dinala mo sa saint Luke hospital QC or in Cardinal Santos hospital in San Juan.
That clinic/hospital room looked very clean compared to some I have been in China in more of the village areas
All the best Brother Tom💪🏽❤️take care and stop drink Alcohol!! and eat healthy. And take care of you boddy
But you need too go too a good hospital or clinic
And it's unbelievable that nurses don't know what they're doing, they need to be better trained
Stopped to eat all that pork Also is not good
Chicken, fish, vegetables, and a lot of fruit
Thanks
Nothing wrong with drinking San Miguel.. as long as you eat right. Eating right though is one of the hardest things to do in the Philippines.
@@randellt 👌🏽
Oh my Fom, sorry to hear about the horrendous experience but if it's a blocked artery you need to get proper tests done. My husband had a block artery which was a hesrt attack and had to do surgery, so better get your tests done early. Feel better.
Tom what a bloody experience you were lucky to have Lay with you, must admit l have been lucky when going to a public hospital in Cebu although the hospital was old the staff, nurses, doctors were fantastic and because i was only foreigner there the doctors treated me very well, its understandable how you felt and your and Lays reactions, look after your self mate and watch what you eating and drinking. There are some weird bugs and viruses around there, take care,
Crikey. Vermin scuttling under the bed on top of their poor care. How the hell does a hospital run out of stocks??? As others have said it’s lucky Lay was with you.Take care of yourself young lad.
This should be a wake up call for all those guys who sing the praises of the Philippines. Generally the healthcare is below par.
That's pretty scary, glad your lady was there to look after you.
Tom if you want have a good service and convenient just go in big private clinic or ospital but of course you'll need to be prepare much money but im pretty sure its much cheaper here in Philippines than in your country.
Di yn punta private napaka kuripot nyan haha napapanood kona before yn sa vlog nila before ni meljean solon.
Hello young shipmate Tom. Listen buddy get yourself to a 'good' hospital and get a full professional check-up ok. That is number one. It will be a little expensive, but your mind will rest a lot easier for it. If you have anything going on it is best to catch it early. Number two -- go to church and give thanks that you have Lay with you -- it seems like she really cares for you amigo. Get better young man. I have enjoyed and do enjoy watching your videos.
Good luck. Hydrate meantime and stay off the booze for a couple
of days and see how you feel. Okay? Good luck !You’ll be fine.
Thanks
@@RoamingHogan you are welcome.
@Askym58072 That would not be my first question.
@Askym58072That would not be my first question if you’re asking my opinion as a nurse.
Tom, you don't have to share if you don't want to but was it a virus? Dengue fever perhaps or just severe dehydration?
Weird they dont have a heart monitor? Dont pay them and investigate!!!!!
Careful They can sue u for slander even if it is true
Tom.
If I told you the first hospital was an organ harvesting clinic would it help you make sense of all the confusion you were put through?
It fits the narrative very well
same experience I had in Baguio it was the worse my sheets were covered with dry blood from someone else and they told me it was clean
Woooow that sounds scary Tom and its like you where filming a part for the movie saw lol..😅😅
Jesus that was so expensive for all they done.😮
Low bp is not treated as a condition in most countries. Only Germany afaik.....
We had a bad experience at a hospital in Panabo city, that hospital is a joke,I won’t go there again, I’d rather suffer
why did you bring him to that small clinic.
Maybe report it to the authorities, this need to stop, they might do it to others
This is exactly why I laugh whenever I hear people say, “It’s more fun in the Philippines”
Your story makes me think of a Benny Hill Show sketch, with Jackie Wright as Roaming Hogan.
Top Hospitals In the Philippines:
1. Asian Hospital Alabang🎉
2. Makati Medical Center
3. St.Luke’s Hospital - QC
St. Luke’s hospital BGC.
4. medical city
This is in no particular order but we personally has been in Asian Hospital and me once in Makati Med for my leg X-ray when I fell from the stairs in my previous condo. This is the best to go to for whatever in the Philippines.
Tom thank God for Ly u need to go for a real check up we are all worried we pray 🙏
Yes, especially your young but the heart cant work if it’s clogged up, ask the Doc to treat you with EDTA cleanser works great
What is the name off the hospital?
Healthcare quality can vary big time in the Philippine. Makati medical center is western standard for the most part, efforts should be made to find a good private hospital…Too many vloggers are show casing the best hospitals in the country, you experienced a middle of the road clinic. Far from the worst, the worst don’t have equipment…Your young for ischemia…smoking? History of bad habits may be catching up. It should be a wake up call.
Tom. Being patient and be positive to be happy with and we both are smile
Tom,those issues you had with the equipment and paper in the hospital do not surprise me at all.
Better you go to Manila doctors hospital there is many doctor and many staff are good and approachable even the payment expensive
Stay safe
You two are still young go nature hiking ..you shouldn't be in the hospital ..
Glad you’re ok Tom..take care yourselfs….i had to laugh when lye said they ran out of paper….lol…..tom please go get a check up tho..
Tom wishing you all the best feel well soon lay will take care of you
Next time, go to Makati hospital or st Lukes.
Which hospital was it?
Maybe you should drink lots of water tom. For hydration.
