I can’t see them improving sadly, I really hope they do but it’s tough like the manager said. Sadly it all comes down to the priorities and where players have them laid when it comes to football. Maybe one day we might see a massive climb but unlikely anytime soon. Would love to see a video at Livingston United or West Calder 😊😅
Hi Sam, my son Cameron & myself met you at Easter Road, Tornadoes lounge, Hibs v Hearts between Christmas & New Year. We were in the suits as we were on a whisky tour before hand. Anyhows, That guy you met on the Main Street Innerleithen is a Peebles legend. He’s called Hibby & everyone old enough will remember Hibbys Disco’s. Cracking guy. Also when you were walking round the ground, you stopped at a sponsor board. John Shaedler joiners. That’s the brother of Erich Shaedler who played for Hibs Turnballs Tornadoes & Scotland. Cracking Film pal
As a season ticket holder at Vale it is a very hard watch. As Callum said, hopefully we can keep the squad and the manager next season and start again! 🤞
I'm a Dunipace fan and we are due to play you soon, we are currently 1st as I type this. We played you earlier this season in a cup game after our pitch was burnt so played at Sauchie's ground. You guys took us to penalties I believe, then a month or so later we beat you 6 or 7 nil. Funny how football works sometimes but i really do hope you guys manage to gather more players together. You guys have been through a lot
I started off my part-time frrelance football journalism gig in Thai League 3 (Regional). Moving to Bangkok, I went up the ladder. I really miss the fun days out in Thailand's rural north-east. The local fans, though often limited in number, were super-friendly. I enjoyed many a beer after matches with fans, players, and staff alike. Enjoy your job Sam! And i ❤ that cute little bulldog. He's a loyal fan!
I love how the UK and Ireland have so many small community clubs like this. Even if a team is bad, it's great to support your town. Enjoyed this video quite a bit.
Yet another example of seeing how much the lower leagues mean to these smaller communities. Tough to be a supporter of a team that has been struggling for multiple seasons in a row, but it’s always important to be there when the turnaround happens.
This was a cracking vid, was really hoping for a miracle upset. Setting was stunning, some nice locals too. Next time you’re in Yorkshire, come check out Silsden FC, it’s quite a similar backdrop and a nice club to visit.
Hi Sam, another brilliant video as always - really interesting watch! I did want to point out to you that Cruden Bay in the North Region Junior Championship (7th tier) have played 24 games, lost 24 games and have also been deducted 3 points for fielding an ineligible player so sit at -3 points with two games to go!
Great little club, run very well with a committee of guys mainly in their 70s, just need some good experienced players and they will be a lot more competitive. I’m sure they will back a lot stronger in the near future.
Hi Sam! Thanks for another great vlog. Innerleithen was made famous by the brilliant mountain bike riders, McTrail Rider, Laura Jane and Wee Tam and Street Pigeon...... I never knew there was a football club there! Everyday is a schoolday!
Innerleithen is a great part of the country. Stopped off there for a while on our way home (Ayrshire) and just ended up chatting in every shop we went in, even if we didn't buy anything. Great people, lovely place. Got to love fans who come out to see teams that are struggling so bad. Great vid, hope it shines a light on them.
Sam, most people down here are nice folks. My local team is Gala fairydean Rovers, wasn’t doing that great in the season you showed. Great wee town Innerleithen, great mountain bike trails🤩
good memories of the pie shop in the 90's, used to stop and get a bite on the way to our works. Watched VofL in those days, as Gala and Selkirk were my local teams and they had some decent players, sad that they are in the situation they are in, hopefully you can have some affect on their future and getting in players.
There are loads of grounds in the pyramid like Buntisland: a pitch with a rail, a small covered terrace, some grass for standing and a fence. I love them all.
Another great video sam! Always love watching these videos! You should take a trip to the Hebrides and visit the Uist and Barra league teams! Eriskays pitch is in the top 10 most scenic places to play football in the world according to fifa 😳
that is a really nice ground! I am really enjoying your content and your dedication to lower leagues.. I never look or follow them until i started following you.. :D hailing from Malaysia. :)
Unfortunatly even at this level the Vale just cant compete financially with the other teams. Espescially a couple years ago when they were in the lowland league. But unfortunatly i cant see it getting any better anytime soon which is a real shame.
Sam are you gonna come visit some teams in the midlands league, there’s teams in that league with brilliant setups and great stadiums, such as broughty united, lochee united, downfield, Dundee Violet and many more with some great history’s, you also have Dundee East Craigie who got to the semi finals of the Scottish junior cup last year, would be great to see you visit some of these teams or even the league as a whole to give them some publicity!
The video raises a point that bothered me about the pyramid. There is a risk that the city based sides will dominate because they can attract players. The small town sides might gradually start to drop out. Berwick, Cowdenbeath, East Stirling replaced by the likes of Edinburgh City and Spartans.
Although Vale of Leithen are two tiers above the bottom it's still hard to make a defence for them not being the worst team in Scotland. In cups they have the opportunity to beat lower tier clubs, but their 4-1 win at Edinburgh Community was the first time they'd avoided defeat in a cup tie in 19 matches, all the way back to April 2018. Having seen both this season I'd say they're definitely better than Thurso, though. We'll never know for sure.
Hiya Sam, I hope you read this message, would Vale Of Leithen beat San Marino, or any of the lower countries in EUFA? its good that you go to these alternative football grounds, clubs we've never heard of, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England
Not to be confused with Vale of Leven (West of Scotland League, Div 3, but a long-past history at the top of Scottish football). Be careful with pronunciation. Yes, Fort William were relegated. Football is a lesser sport than shinty round there. They're not a top shinty team either, currently second in the National League (the second tier) after being relegated from the Premiership two years ago, but still much more distinguished in the game than they are in football. They have a better ground than the football club and it is popular as a neutral venue for cup finals etc.
Innerleithen is a lovely place but the roads in are dreadful so I’d call it “remote”, plus the towns around them are rugby daft. Genuinely think Leithen Rovers, who play on the adjacent public park in the Border Amateur League, would give them a game
The zoom in of the dog after the goals 😂. Should come see the team they played Arniston Rangers a team 5 minutes from my house and amazing community/youth set up neglected in the past but finally getting a little money invested
im from america, so my mind cant understand how a team can be down so bad. I say all this as the teams i follow cant be relegated when they probably would be.
You missed 1 tier 6 league Sam, the often forgotten Midlands League. Bottom side is Forfar United, although they are on 11 points, so you are correct. Vale of Leithen have the worst league record in the Scottish pyramid.
Poor old Vale Of Leithen. Will they improve soon?
Fingers crossed. Great ground to visit and great folk
Why not go and watch a game at Ashfield FC I’ve done it before and it was very different
🤞
I can’t see them improving sadly, I really hope they do but it’s tough like the manager said. Sadly it all comes down to the priorities and where players have them laid when it comes to football. Maybe one day we might see a massive climb but unlikely anytime soon.

Does Alex Ferguson fancy one more challenge?

Another outstanding production, Sam. Best of luck to Vale of Leithen, hope next season will be better.
As a season ticket holder at Vale it is a very hard watch. As Callum said, hopefully we can keep the squad and the manager next season and start again! 🤞
Hiya Lynn, would Vale Of Leithen beat San Marino or any of the lower global teams like American Samoa?
I'm a Dunipace fan and we are due to play you soon, we are currently 1st as I type this. We played you earlier this season in a cup game after our pitch was burnt so played at Sauchie's ground. @@paulguise698 I can assure you that they wouldn't. San Marino, bad as they may be, are still leagues above Vale.

Yep❤
Many years ago I saw The Vale beat Forfar 4-1 in the Scottish Cup. Jan 7th 1978. Changed days.
Yet another example of seeing how much the lower leagues mean to these smaller communities. Tough to be a supporter of a team that has been struggling for multiple seasons in a row, but it’s always important to be there when the turnaround happens.
Good to see you back at your roots Sam, I have to say I don't bother with the videos about the old firm, I love these ones though.
This was a cracking vid, was really hoping for a miracle upset.
Setting was stunning, some nice locals too.
Next time you’re in Yorkshire, come check out Silsden FC, it’s quite a similar backdrop and a nice club to visit.
Hiya Luke, Series 1 Episode 1 of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (UK) was at Bonapartes in Silsden, just to let you know
Hi Sam, another brilliant video as always - really interesting watch! I feel sorry for these teams
Great little club, run very well with a committee of guys mainly in their 70s, just need some good experienced players and they will be a lot more competitive. I’m sure they will back a lot stronger in the near future.
Hope Vale of Leithen manage a win this season. Interesting to see them covered and I hope they get some more support!

The only game they won was against my team, Bo'ness Utd, at Bo'ness, beat us 1-0,a few months after we won 7-0 on their ground
Sam, most people down here are nice folks. My local team is Gala fairydean Rovers, wasn’t doing that great in the season you showed. Great wee town Innerleithen, great mountain bike trails🤩
Love your content mate. Great to have a window into these lesser known clubs from far flung places. Cheers from Cape Town.
Sam, a nice trip to a good little town with not a good football team.. hope it picks up for them next season.... always a good watch...!
My Highschool teacher plays for Broomhill please do a video on them
I love the way you promote all types of clubs in Scotland.
good memories of the pie shop in the 90's, used to stop and get a bite on the way to our works. Ever been to burntisland shipyard? I bet it's one of the smaller grounds in Scotland, not far from Raith rovers.
There are loads of grounds in the pyramid like Buntisland: a pitch with a rail, a small covered terrace, some grass for standing and a fence. I love them all.
@@gordon1545 they've put in a wee stand and some floodlights in the past few years and they even have a couple of wee ultras now it's great 😆
You've missed out the North Region Juniors that is part of the pyramid (6th & 7th teir) NRJFA Championship Cruden Bay sit on -3 points
Great video. Great to meet you today! Hopefully see up at the famous Arni ground!
I know Celtic aren’t exactly in form, but the title is a bit harsh.
😂😂😂
Love it 🤣🤣🤣👍
When you talk about crimes committed, then they are the worst in world football.
Rangers with 1 win out of the last 4
Celtic with 4 wins out of the last 5
the cheek of the hun. SO good seeing the pain Celtic have caused the huns. Put us in the PL, no one can compete with us

You need to check Cruden Bay... North Region First Division (Tier 7)
Currently on -3 (negative 3) points!

Another excellent informative video!
Can you make one for Deveronvale someday?
The video raises a point that bothered me about the pyramid. There is a risk that the city based sides will dominate because they can attract players. The small town sides might gradually start to drop out.
Berwick, Cowdenbeath, East Stirling replaced by the likes of Edinburgh City and Spartans.
Bit harsh Sam. I reckon they would likely give Kello Rovers a good game this season🤣🤣🤣
Video starts at 8:51

Nice video for non league day 😊
Edit update 💁♀️☺️💕
Go Nairn county in April sixth please Sam 😮
6:56 yes, Sam is making friends 😅
The man you met on the high street was a guy called hibby. Some man him, nice guy and legend.
Try checking out Cruden Bay F.C in the North Region Junior FA Championship. It’s April and the have -3 points and -126 GD
A video about Caley? I suppose I’ll give it a look…
Saw them beat Edinburgh Community this season but was away from home. Hopefully 2nd division is the level they can compete at
Cruden Bay in North Region Junior Championship are the worst in the pyramid with -3 points

Not a fan of the pie were you? 🤣 love these vlogs though 👏
Brilliant sam I have been through there so often but never stopped to watch a game but I certainly will be now

Still waiting for that trip to see Campbeltown Pupils 😊
The zoom in of the dog after the goals 😂. Should come see the team they played Arniston Rangers a team 5 minutes from my house and amazing community/youth set up neglected in the past but finally getting a little money invested
hi Sam love your videos will u be going to montrose next week where Falkirk should win the league
Was always going to be the way with teams at the bottom of the Lowland - still a couple more to filter down! Hope Vale find their level next season.
You need to come to Dunipace soon Sam!
Unfortunately will likely end up in the bottom tier of the EOSFL, very similar to Hawick Royal Albert a few seasons back
Are you coming to any Larne games again lad?
Spent some time there over the years, awesome for mountain biking. Great crack in the pups, yes the massive coop has cash machines
Should do a video at Stowmarket Town. Only winless team in the top 8 divisions in England!
What ive learned: if i want a high scoring game. Ill make my way up
Didn’t mention the Hearts programme & Scottish Cup tie 🙁
You should try Eriskay AFC. Perhaps you have. If so, I apologise. Love your content
They aren’t too bad, but the pitch is FIFA recognised
So... the so called worst team in scotland can play on a grass pitch .. but teams in the spl can't 🤔
Well, Dundee certainly can't play on a grass pitch.
This wasnt grass.. it was a field
Used to be a decent pitch years ago. South cup finals were always held there, not sure if they still are
Those wee guys are living their best lives and loving following their team, that's what football should be about.
"The crowd go wild"...🤣
Sevco 2012 was up there AKA the tribute act
You were at Pittodrie then?
Are all scottish people this sweet, everyone he met was very friendly.
Has to be Montrose next week. Title possibly?
COYBairns
im from america, so my mind cant understand how a team can be down so bad. I say all this as the teams i follow cant be relegated when they probably would be.
Might have a visit up from Thornaby FC next season
If football was played on bikes on very sloping pitches they would be in the Champions "League"
Good evening, Sam
You missed 1 tier 6 league Sam, the often forgotten Midlands League. Bottom side is Forfar United, although they are on 11 points, so you are correct. Vale of Leithen have the worst league record in the Scottish pyramid.
Nope, that's Cruden Bay in the North Junior League
Try visiting Ibrox anytime in the near future.
I saw you at the rangers women game on the pitch on Sunday
If you want to see (away) goals, come to the Vale. 😱
Bloody hell, this team went from bad to worse to catastrophic 😂
I thought you were going to Tannadice!
This poor team man. You can just see they just dont have good players. Theyre getting creamed by teams that are right by them standings wise
Hi Sam got a photo with you at the airdrie vs tns game
The dog is going wild 😂
Your man has done his club a bit of a disservice there - score was 4-0 to Morton that day.
I’m in it I’m the one with the Cp company
What about Cruden Bay? Lost every match this season.
The goal Difference 😮
Did you actually mention the name of the opposing team?
Arniston Rangers, from Gorebridge
Come to Selkirk please Sam😊
Amazingly, they managed to get 3 points deducted after using an ineligible player in this very match. So another season with - points.
Innerleithen is far from being ‘in the sticks’. It’s 50 minutes from Edinburgh ffs
Thought it was gonna be East Stirlingshire again 😂
The Shire are on the up
Come to meldrum United, they were formed like 5 months ago
Pointless comment but
I played against VoL in 2000 in a friendly
I thought this video was about you going to the Netherlands on Friday night
Celtic?
Rangers?
Everything isn’t all about Celtic or Rangers in life. Grow up.
Beautiful setting.
I thought I was going to be seeing the national team.
Cmon arni I was the one in the arni hat this is my mums yt account🎉🎉
👍
You should do the gretna story sam
Do they also have the worst toilet in Scotland?
At least they have a grass park
Sam’s here, there, everywhere. Always interesting.
