Like when Ben stiller did the best visual effects for 2006 he was dressed in a green screen suit pretending he was invisible 😂😂😂 and now will and Zach with the symbols 😂
Mentioned everyone but the guy who wrote, produced and starred in the film! That was Jason Segel's one chance to be mentioned in an Oscars ceremony. Well, unless he makes it into the In Memoriam segment.
I was concerned as to why there weren't four songs nominated a Oscar that year. But I'm glad Man or Muppet from The Muppets won the Oscar. Best song of the movie, alongside "Life's A Happy Song".

Life's A Happy Song should have been nominated. But Real in Rio and Man or Muppet are both wonderful songs. One of pure jubiliation and one of melancholy!
It was a tough call this year at the Oscars for this category! Those songs sounded great and just by looking at the nominees, Muppets and Rio still bring out the joy out of the kid at heart as well as the new generation respectively!
a win for all the FOTC fanx out there. A better guy could not have won it. Love Bret. Though, only two songs were nominated, so he had a pretty good chance of winning.
homieblossom because every year when they have to vote for deciding the nominees (not the final winner) the voters review the choices instead of voting for just one. The Academy nominates those songs which had a score of 8.5 or higher (the limit of nominees is 5). Apparently, this year only two songs made it to the nomination.
I can imagine when Bret gets back to New Zealand he'll find Jemaine sitting on a couch with his arms crossed pissed off that he didn't get mentioned in this speech.
I can name at least one movie which deserved a nomination. Disney's "Winnie the Pooh" had some awesome songs! The Backson song definitely deserved one.
Now I wish that both of the two songs: Real in Rio and Man or Muppet, were performed in front of the audience... but, they didn't get a chance to sing the two songs. Awww!!!
This is the right place to complain about how "Something So Right" wasn't nominated (not even shortlisted) in 2015. That song is amazing, showcases a big moment in the movie and out of context it talks about the anxiety before marriage brilliantly. Just Imagine how epic, would've been to see Miss Piggy performing with Celine Dion at the Oscars. A huge missed opportunity
Just look at Segel's expression at the end. I know a lot of Muppet purists complain, "oh stupid, insipid celebrity had to write this movie and destroy the Muppets." You know what, Segel as well as others involved did what they did simply because they loved the Muppets and wanted the world to celebrate Jim Henson's creations. The fact that Segel kept the hole that the rainbow connection tore through in the new movie is proof of that.
If Walt Disney smiled from heaven when Frozen won best animated film and best original song, then the great Jim Henson and others like Richard Hunt would be smiling also for this amazing win for the Muppets. They totally deserved it because this song is emotionally beautiful. XD
The reason why there were only two nominees is because in the old rule, voters in the music branch rank a song from 1 to 10, a song has to score an 8.5 average in order to get the nomination for Best Song. These were the only two songs to hit that mark. After this, they changed the rule so that it doesn't happen again. Now the 5 highest average scores will get nominated.

That was lovely to see
He is a pretty good actor…

Not to mention the fact that he is also half of New Zealand's 4th most popular folk comedy duo.

The coverband FOTC is slighly more populair than the original band.
