Me too, add limited frames on the character movements and it will fully look like hand drawn animation. More developers should work with this kind of artstyle for animations or games.
it was really easy for me to make it automatically set shadows to be the hatching material using ambient occlusion as a mask (automatic shadows makes animation that isn't just flat shaded actually feasible)
This is so great! I feel like I google for hours, and everyone else has very expensive overly complicated approaches, glad this was easy and fun! Thanks so much for the video!
Love this tutorial. The part about the Line Art modifiers opened up what previously was an opaque aspect of Grease Pencil. Really appreciate your efforts to shine light on this. Cheers! 😃
@bran great demo, thank you so much! I wonder - how might one increase line thickness by distance from the camera? There is a camera data node in the shader editor which has a view distance out put, But the grease pencil material doesn’t have a node tree in the shader editor… Hmm… any ideas?
1. Love this demo and looking forward to both applying it to my own work, as well as iterating on it to try new things! 2. One minor criticism of your tutorials (or rather demo? These feel like demonstrations, moreso than tutorials) videos is that, between your speaking cadence, and the amount of space you leave between steps, your process goes very fast. It is hard to follow organically/casually without either slowing the video down, constantly pausing, or constantly rewinding to catch steps missed while following previous steps. I'd recommend breaking the steps down even further, as well as leaving at least 2-3 seconds of space between steps that don't have explanations behind them. (Grant Abbit has great examples of tutorial cadence and pacing) Also, if you're not already, maybe run the videos by people who either aren't on your level and/or aren't into Blender to see what they say. I want to reiterate that I love your videos. They taught me how to sculpt in Blender. And they make Blender sculpting way more casually accessible than a lot of what's on UA-cam atm! Take what I'm saying with a grain of salt or not, but keep being awesome and making Blender accessible to dreamers everywhere! Thanks again, and I hope you're also having a good day!
This video is perfect for anyone who isn't a beginner, I actually thought it had excellent pacing. Anyone with moderate experience can follow along easily. If you're newer to blender there are better places to start
abused? it could be great to help animate annoying moving parts where 3d models are used (and look a little out of place) and make them look 2d! this is awesome. (sorry if this comes off rude, i just wanted to add onto what you said)
i was just listening to splatoon music, i pause it to listen to this video and i got super confused for a second when the intro started with 0ff the hooks music
@@johnpixie i ask since in one part with the hair you need to put it on a different collection so i was confused, most of my models are one piece only instead lf multiple
@@GilliganTF2 ah okay. my models are muti so that vever came to mind. id say its good pratice to break your models up so you can give parts like cloths and hair diffrent mods but if that is not to your liking im sure you can find an alt way of doing it. have a google and a play around to see what happens.
Greetings Brian can you please try experimenting on Arcane, SpiderVerse and Entergalactic Npr rendering style you the only UA-camr who really knows how to make very informative and detailed content pleeeease🙏🏾
My god, hurry up. Not every tutorial vid needs to rehash the basic controls. Just add a link to your intro tutorial at the beginning and move on, please I beg you 😭
I don't know man , this feels sketchy
hehehehehe
gettins this 2d look is the sole reason i started learning blender. amazing tips here, thanks!

Actual lifesaver for making engineering assembly & usage manuals. Thanks so much
I had NO CLUE camera data was a node; also your work never ceases to amaze me, awesome stuff!
this is insane.
Youve really gone above and beyond my expectations 😎 youve been doing 3D over a year & you're the fun uncle of sculpting in the blender community
I know nothing about blender but I feel like I just learned so much
the scott falco animated avatar, nice!

Wow. i learned more in this 16 mins then i have in my entirety of 9 years of school. Great video Bran! you fancy guy you

Learning a lot. Keep finding myself back here. Earned a subscribble.

Bran, loving the new animated avatar!
I think this is a massive breakthrough!
You can link Modifiers the same way as link Material Cntrl L then Copy Modifier
Love your work, and your taste in background music👀👌
THANK U BRAN FOR AMAZING TUTS!! 💕
Super useful to learn about the line art modifier, thanks!
I always enjoy watching your videos. I started studying modeling thanks to you. 항상 영상 잘보고있습니다 ! 고마워요
Looks amazing 👌
Ok I thought i thought of every way to use blender .. but you sir are wildin.
I love this tutorial and the sailor koon model
Holy Moly, SO 2D 10/10 using
Damnit, i wasted all my time during boring school classes to draw doodles with pencils. When i coudlve made stupid doodles in Blender all along!
Thanks Bran! Great video!
Bran, you're amazing. It's like you know exactly what I'm looking for! :) Keep up the 2D videos, this is all seriously helping me so much!
It looks so good 😭
Me: I only believe it by seeing it.
Me after seeing it: I don't believe it. 😂
very well done.

Do you know how to make the doll move? For example a 10 seconds animation.

AWESOME video thank you so much for sharing!
Have you tried this for rendering out keyframes or animations? Curious if the process still works
can this be done while animating? like having the character in the view of the camera showing the lines even when the character moves?
copy attributes menu addon that comes with blender would make copying modifiers from one thing to another easier
very very useful, thank you so much
This is like that paperman short from Disney in like 2015
This is incredibly cool!!
Great tips and example. Thanks!
This is so cool!
The 3d artists have become too powerful
Splatoon 2 music? Based

I gonna draw my manga fully in 3d right now

Awesome ❤
Sir please make a video for 2d shading like bulma you make..
very nice 👌
Love this video!
hey with the modeling is it okay you can make a modeling tutorial for anime? i did the other tutorial i like it but the eyes doesn’t fit
this can be abused well for animations that look literally like a 2d animation yet it will look so smooth
