- Caravan Tracker from Automatrics recovers a stolen Hobby caravan worth over £24,000. The owners had just purchased the brand new dream holiday home for their 50th wedding anniversary.
See how the Automatrics MTrack successfully locates the van despite it being hidden inside a lockup behind two sets of doors where GPS signals were blocked.
The caravan was stolen from the owners drive on a Friday afternoon from Ross On Wye. The Police were lead by Automatrics to the Cheltenham lockup and made several arrests, the main culprit was later sent to prison.

To all you guys who said "don't moan you got it back",should have listened more closely .It stated that the man had cancer ,and didn't have much longer to live .Having the caravan stolen ,affected them badly and took some of the pleasure out of their plans .

Ive watched alot of this guys vids. He is very compassionate about his work and shows loyalty to his customers. He is willing to travel anywhere for his customers,a good person to trust your beloved belongings with. Ive learnt 2 things whilst watching these videos. 1- If i ever do steal an item, ensure i check it thoroughly for any kind of tracking device and dump it quick or...2- Buy a tracker myself for my own car and if ever stolen leave it upto the thieves to find the tracker and dump it quick. Alas some thieves aint so clever and forget about tracking devices etc so Richard may well be making a video on my property lol;.
I am glad to hear of a conviction. I have watched a number of these now and it is very disappointing that most don't result is the thieves being caught, or at least we aren't told.
Nicely done Richard for this recognition, really smart, it must be so rewarding getting equipment and cars back to the customer, especially when they lead to an arrest!

One morning in the early 1980's my mum who had cancer and was recovering from a broken hip let her puppy into the garden and put on the kettle to make a cup of tea. Before the kettle had boiled she caught a glimpse of someone passing the window and when she got to the window with her walking frame saw two guys hurrying down the lane carrying her dog.
The local policeman knew right away that it was to be found at the lay-by where the Pinkies had recently camped up, but they denied having seen the dog and so he could't do anything.
Then the following afternoon some of the local kids were passing the line of caravans on their bikes and saw the dog inside a caravan and their mother called the policeman who went right away and got it.
That same year the same crowd conned an old lady with dementia in to cutting her grass which didn't need cut because her son had just cut it the day before, and when her daughter in law visited her later she found that the lawnmower and some other things has been stolen from her shed.
These people are completely heartless.
26 months is not a big enough sentance if they had stolen a security van with 24000 pounds cash the sentance would be more WHY.
the people that do this should be rf tagged and fitted with trackers for life so they have no chance of doing it again.
They will only serve about 6 - 8 months then back to their thieving ways.
In Saudi they'd only have one hand left to steal with!

HOBBY caravans are the choice of a certain group of travelling people who have little qualms about stealing what they want, If you have a HOBBY then up you game security wise as it has probably been noticed.
Yeah I think best scenario is to invest in medieval armour and a sword for when said pikey's visit
4000 caravans are stolen each year... I wonder what type of person would want to steal so many caravans.
Finally some closure. We learned what the thief got . Very rare from this tracker site.
The sooner that caravans and trailers over a certain weight have to have their own V5 and number plate as in Europe, the better. Most people won't know the VIN of their caravan or trailer, especially if bought secondhand, which is why so many are not recovered. Don't get me wrong, it won't stop the thieves, but it makes it harder for them to dispose of one as they would need to obtain another V5; or ring it, which gives them the same problem. Anyone in possession of an unidentifiable caravan or trailer (if the VIN number is ground out, which is a preferred option by some in the travelling fraternity) would have it seized and destroyed.
Since 2016 all new caravans are registered with CRIS. They all have VIN numbers which are registered to the owner!

I grew up where street justice was the norm and I still believe in street justice. We never call the police . You can't fix stupid but you can make stupid turn up missing.

Take the wheels off and hide them. It may not stop thieves but it would slow them down. Even a hitch lock has been overcome, they chain it to their lorry. They're not worried about damage are they?

Insurance companies ask what security systems are fitted to a vehicle. I point out that my car is a 25 year old Astra which usually answers their question!

wish i had you guys when my bike got stolen bike was reported stolen 9am when i was leaving for work
police took 3 days to get back to me with any information
bike was found abandoned literally 90 seconds from my house abandoned in the woods at around 3am the day i reported it stolen (yes they found it 6 hours before i knew it was gone)
20 seconds with anpr or the dvla database would have revealed me as the owner and my adress (cause they sure as shit would find my adress if i did a drive off at a petrol forcourt) 90 seconds of walking to my house and all would be good didnt even need to fetch the bike id do that i got strong young legs back when i was 18
nah too much effort had it towed and stung me with 3 days storage fees for a bike i didnt even know at this point would even be worth the 300 quid recovery fees
which sucks cause im all for the police and the hard work they do but when 5 minutes of radioing and playing with there taxpayer incar computers is too much work even though they must have been sat there for a good hour waiting for the recovery truck then you cant help but be disapointed in them
next vehicle i get im just fitting one of your guys trackers they arnt too bad considering they save me making a major claim in the long run and hey might even drop my insurance

The sentance was 26 months.....but there is a high probability that 13 months are spent in jail & the remaiñing part of the sentence is spent out & about on licence with strict curfews were you have to remain in your home during certain hours. This is quite a common outcome. ...The probation office or is it police fit a tracker to the criminals leg :-)
The garage owner got off though, found not guilty despite being on £3k for storing it for the weekend. Thief was only caught because was dumb enough to look inside the caravan with no gloves on

If I got it robbed off me I wouldnt want it back...rather have the cash and gap insurance without paying for a tracker and subscription
What if you have a one of a kind asset? I have a very valuable car which is one of only a few. It can't be replaced as its so unique. Your crappy gap insurance wouldn't cover the loss.
I’ve got a tracker on my car. I’m not bothered about getting the car back, I just want to fuck the thieves over. Even better if the thieves get a prison sentence or the police get to know their hideout.
