yeah... it could be a lot cheaper, the markup must be considerable. I have no interest in buying IP sets... only classic remakes. and they are on the cheaper side for good value comparatively... have you seen some of these small space ships they want 70-90 dollars for? YIkes. I am just waiting for a good GWP since that is what one really must do to get the most out of things... which I am not a fan of because I would like to get this sooner
I’m torn between this and the Lion Knights Castle. I would love both but $400 is very hard to swallow. I just got back into Lego and have always loved the Castle stuff the most. I may just end up going with this since it’s the first set with the return of the Wolfpack, which is my favorite faction. Hopefully they’ll do some smaller cheaper castles in the near future but I also don’t want to miss out if they don’t do that.
Honestly though, I know the castle is a lot more but has so much more to offer I do not know if it will ever go on sale for 300 again but its got to be the best set LEgo made overall. It actually got me to buy lego again after 25 years! They go together so well too, to me it would seem like the castle would be a must have first. I get it though the wolf pack guy and tax collector are some of the coolest minis. @@fossil-bit8439

I am undecided whether to change the Inn colours, I have added the goathearder and two more goats, 3 sheep, a calf to the cheese farm and a mother for the kid in the kitchen, 2 piglets in the carrot patch a female helper in the Inn kitchen a customer on the ground floor and a peasant reading the tree notices. A horse and saddle for the taxman or guard, finally so far another cat in the Inn kitchen and tiled the landing outside the red bedroom out of spares from the set. However Legos standards are slipping I was 3 items missing from the set which I replaced out of my stock. Shame as there were lots of extra small pieces.
I think the lack of animals in the set was a big thing, I ended up buying a few horses and some pigs as well. I don’t have any cows that I could add yet but would like to. Love all of the editions you made! And I agree Lego is slipping a bit, I think they are focusing on profit margins increasing every year over some other things.
It just looks so good with the castle.. there is nearly endless play value with a whole town and castle and so many factions of minis already... wow... just needs more animals... which I have been collecting since I got he castle... I will likely want to upgrade some of the buildings and add some other little things like a water well, and another market stall. I agree though the tax collector is better off as a one off character that makes him special. hes done perfectly, from choice of head to everything (except sticker tile)
The biggest drawback from these sets are definitely the stickers. I should’ve mentioned the lack of animals more in the video, but I’ve bought a few extra horses and other farm animals to fill out the pen behind the cheese makers place. I’d like to upgrade the set or even add other builds as well, but I need to improve my piece collection beforehand!
yes, stickers are the reason I was not a day one purchase but waiting for a good GWP. It is a major turn off, but I really like some of the minis. and the build overall, though some I may separate and turn into more buildings. I want to complete the guarded tower and inn. I have a lot of vintage and mis 2000's bricks from my own and nephews collection (its huge and filled with parts of some of the most famous castle sets) , to go through, but some of these modern colors and special pieces I do not have much of. @@BronzeBricks1

What kills the set for me are the stickers.
That’s the biggest complaint, and for the price tag of the set you’d think Lego could at least print on some of the pieces instead of stickers

I don’t know the correct number off the top of my head, but they are both over 20 bricks tall
