I lived in Mexico for six years and adored every minute. Unfortunately, I had to return to Canada because of cancer. I built my own home, made wonderful friends, and was accepted into the well established artist community. It's an incredible country and a beautiful way of life. I miss it terribly.
Just curios because I am also sick. Why did you go to canada for health care? From what I understand mexico has really good healthcare for cancer? I read about max gersons place is in mexico. They also have stemcell there and it is so much cheeper. I truly am also looking for the right move. Thank you
@@alittleofthisandthat8003 I moved back to Canada for health care because, as a senior in a low income bracket, all my treatment, medication etc. is covered here. Yes, Mexico has great physicians, however I would have had to pay, and I could not afford it.
@@donnaparker8489 Hope you are doing better. Thank you for your response, I am in the us and am looking to move somewhere where i can get help with my health. I have been fighting for a decade and I am so tired of the health system here. They are bound by their own rules and can't or won;t help me. Finacially I can't handle the worry ant longer.
Good approach to living in a special country. I am living nearly full time in Oaxaca - I feel alive here. I was very happy to finally get my permanent residency. Just walking around to get coffee is a diversion. I have never had any issues. I have been warned by local friends of areas and actions that could be dangerous so I follow their advice. I left my expensive phone in a sidewalk cafe - when I came back 30 minutes later, the waitress rushed to give it back to me. My company had me in Los Angeles for 2 years - I felt more at risk in LA than in Mexico. Thanks for the video. I just subscribed!
Thank you Dave for your encouraging comments! We appreciate you watching our videos and subscribing to our channel. Hope you’re having a fabulous week! 😎
I really appreciate your "friendly" point of view about my country. As you say, if one keeps an honest life Mexico is a safe place. As everywhere else in the world, there is crime and problems, but I can say that most Mexicans are good people. Your personality is very charming, Sir. Keep the good work! Regards from Cancún, Quintana Roo. Really liked this video!

Wow!! I loved your video! You got right to the point. I'm an American who built a home in San Luis Potosi and recently bought a finca in Mexico. I'm so tired of people asking me aren't you afraid you will be killed in Mexico?! No I'm not. I live in Downtown Los Angeles where people are murdered every day and where children and families are run over by cars. At my son's elementary his friend was stabbed in back with a knife . At my others sons junior high someone was shot in face while standing in lunch line. What about the mass school shootings? I feel much safer at my vacation homes in Mexico and hopefully will be able to live there permanently soon.
Where did he get right to the point ?? I watched whole video and he never once said anything about did he make a mistake moving to Mexico. That was the reason I watched it in the first place , I wanted to know what happened that they are second guessing their decision. Look at the way he’s holding his head and the title of the video , he never got to the point. Just said how good it was , nothing negative.
Jim, that video was certainly in our first few months of making videos. I’m sorry that I didn’t say anything negative about our travels here. Watch some of the later videos on Mexico. If you’re only looking for negative issues, I suggest you look at a video like this: ua-cam.com/video/h72Pp2aECbI/v-deo.html or ua-cam.com/video/BqjxsuzJRWY/v-deo.html that lists pros and cons. We also have many many videos done in the USA and Canada showing their beauty. We do appreciate you taking your time to watch one of our videos and also to leave comments. We also hope that you have an amazing weekend! 🙂
@@GeneandRenee thank you for your reply. I’m thinking I would like to move to Mexico and really hoping for very few , if any bad things. I will sub to your channel and watch more videos. Thank you and enjoy your paradise , it looks amazing.
We have definitely enjoyed our time here. As you explore the area you may move to: watch lots of videos on that area; and subscribe to expat groups on Facebook in that city and hear what they’re saying. And as I always say, don’t buy drugs or illegal substances, don’t sell them, don’t ask about them, don’t go to bars late at night. Those same apply to the USA. When you settle on a location fly down and do a vacation there to be sure it’s the right fit before moving all the way there. Best of luck to you as you explore your options! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us! 😎
I have lived in Mexico for 14 years, now a permanent resident. I will be getting my Mexican Citizenship this summer,. Mexico Changed my life in ways I cannot express. The Kindness and warmth of the Mexican people, The celebrations of Culture are among the top. Of course the cost of living here is 70% less than where I came from in California. I live in northern Nayarit away from the hustle and bustle of larger towns which is my preference. I live on the beach in a town of 800 people. I have never once felt or have been treated as an outsider. My opinion is important when I attend town meetings and I try to participate as much as possible in local events. I cant see me returning to the US on a permanent basis due to the hateful environment, and a completely non functioning government. I'm proud to be an American but our country has clearly lost its way in so many ways. If you do choose to relocate here you MUST embrace Mexico with a non judgmental attitude. Things move at a slower pace here you might be without power for a day or 2, may take a week to get the phone company out to repair and you can order online bur expect it taking 2 weeks in most places to get to you. That caused much frustration when I first moved here always comparing it to home. Took me about 1 year to cleanse myself of that attitude. I am so grateful for Mexico giving me such a kind place to call home. Could not wich for more. You will love San Miguel, I visited allot when I lived in Guanajuato for 1 year. Saludos Amigos !
Jon thank you for sharing your experiences! Wow! We’ve loved our time here so far and look forward to many adventures. Thank you for subscribing and watching our video adventures. Hope you’re having a fabulous week! 😎
So sad to lose our country, isn't it? I would have never imagined leaving the United States. But now I can see it. I'm not a hater but it is becoming unlivable.
I wish I can say the same about my experience in the US. However, I hope you are paying taxes and, in the 14 years you being in Mexico, You already learn how to speak Spanish. Sorry just a few things I learned in Your country.
I absolutely agree. I've been made to feel welcome no matter where I've been. My wife's family is from Mexico City, and Morelia. Life is calm and without any of the stress felt in the US!
I enjoy your videos. I would be careful talking about crime however. Like you, I’ve never seen any. I also know that it exists and people should always be alert especially when unreal a place that they are unfamiliar with. Leaving a purse unattended on a restaurant table isn’t really advised. Nor is it a good idea to leave your doors unlocked. I love Mexico and love the people. I feel 100% comfortable living in Mexico. But just like anywhere else folks should be alert.
I live in Guadalajara. I'm from Norfolk, Virginia. Anyone from HR knows Norfolk can be hardcore, and the violence can be random. So in terms of personal safety, Guadalajara is much safer. Viva México!
Haaaaa let's convince American people to Flee Thier own country 🦅🇺🇸🦅 rather than fight for the Right to suffer from poverty and pestilence and Lawlessness ‼️
Cool! Thank you for watching our videos. We used to live on Land Street in Norfolk. Neighbor was shot by the police in our yard so yea Norfolk is definitely not safer than Mexico!
I love the straight forward way you present the info. My wife and I had given thought to stay in Mexico but, decided not to because of all the negative news about kidnappings. You report sheds a different light.
Violence is everywhere in the world. The key is to be aware of your surroundings, not put yourself into dangerous situations, stay away from drugs, and stay in at night. That’s the same advice I have for anyone… Even in the USA. Thank you Paul for watching our videos and for joining us on the journey. Hope you’re having a great weekend! 🙂
Thank you Alicia! I always try to see the best in people wherever I go and treat others the way I want to be treated. We appreciate you joining us on the journey! Hope you’re having a great day!! 🙂
Thank you for your review. I am Mexican and recognize that there are some problems in my country but I have been living in Europe for over 15 years and believe when I say that they have the same problems as everywhere else. The only difference is that we Mexicans are happy and smiling always. I am looking forward to the video in San Miguel de Allende. I will be visiting this city in a few weeks.
I lived in eastern Europe. And I'm Slavic so I can say this--what a DEPRESSED people. Latinos have been nothing but friendly to me in Mazatlan. Every country does have problems. But the Mexicans have been really nice to me as I have been slowly learning spanish

I just subscribed! My husband and I are in our late 40s and just starting our research into retiring somewhere in Mexico. I will enjoy watching your adventure and learning along the way ! Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
At the end of 2021 I visited Mexico in Puerta Vallarta for a week and stayed at the Puerta Vallarta Marina. It is a nice place as you mentioned, friendly people for sure, and I even took a bus that was full and more people kept coming in, and since the door at the back was accessible the passengers passed the fare from one hand to another to the driver to pay their fare. I was surprised that they didn't take advantage of the full bus and paid. Asking for directions people where helpful and polite. I still have the memories fresh in my mind for my experiences in Mexico a great place to visit.
How good it was for you to live that?! That happens in my city too! That if the bus is very full they go up from behind and pass the ticket, I live in León Guanajuato, I hope you have another view. Thank you!!!
@@Luigi13 you are so right about that….I have witnessed it myself people get on the packed bus and the people in the back send their cash hand by hand until it reaches the bus driver…..it was amazing to see….great morals and integrity of such hard working people…

This is the nicest endorsement of Mexico I have heard in 30 years. Thank you I really enjoyed my last visit 15 years ago now I am thinking maybe we have been silly not to visit again?
Show up Grey Haired Frail your a target, stay inside at night, double lock your doors bars on your windows and doors outside lights on camera Security system on… basically FORTIFIED home. Do as your mommy told you as a kid “ don’t talk to strangers “. Don’t think anyone is here to be your friend as your disposable. Crack Cocaine Meth etc.. takes a 13 year old Mexican Kid turns them into killer in minutes if not seconds, those gold fillings you have or dentures are worth $$$ pesos on the street… remember a Mexican Junky lives from Drug hit to Drug hit and your the in between hits payday!! It doesn’t matter if your on the beach, sitting at a restaurant, on your bicycle your touchable.

Hi there! I just came across your video (and I subscribed to your channel, too.) I’m hoping to move to México sometime in the next year or two when I find the perfect spot. It’s nice to hear an Estadounidense (almost said American!) telling the truth about Mexico. I can’t believe how many people have asked me if it’s safe, seemingly forgetting what’s going on in the States! I just returned from Queretaro, Guanajuato, and San Miguel de Allende, and I guess it’s time for me to do more exploration.
Kathleen thank you for subscribing to our little channel and joining us on the journey! We hope you enjoy our videos and that you have a great week! How is Queretaro compared to SMA? We’re thinking ahead some to next years travel schedule. 🙂
Hi, I’m a Mexican American and live in Chicago IL I like your comments about Mexico. It’s refreshing to hear good things about Mexico. Because after what the former President said about Mexican that they were Rapists, I appreciate you saying the truth about Mexico and their people. Thank you!
Trump never said Mexicans are rapists. Please stop letting the liberal media manipulate you. Im Also a Mexican from Chicago.... difference is, I can see through the medias bullshit.
dont exagerate, the former president did not say everbody is rapist. Unfortunelly many people is very low educated and they dont get to adapt to the U.S. culture
I’m a woman solo traveler and have been to places where people questioned my sanity such as Egypt and Iraq. Yes, we must always use wisdom and NOT ignore the travel warnings given to us because they are there for a reason. I do not live my life in fear and will enjoy my life to its fullest by discovering the beauty this planet has to offer. I don’t want to wait until retirement age to do it. Just a side note, you don’t have to live a life of crime to be a victim of it.

I just subscribed. Am considering retiring inJalisco in a few years and very much appreciate the information you’re sharing about your experiences in Mexico. I’ve enjoyed each and every opportunity I’ve had to visit that beautiful country. Like you, I’ve found it to be a much different place compared to the way it’s portrayed by news media and certain political factions in the U.S.. looking forward to more videos of your experience.
I just subscribed. My situation is different. Although from the SF Bay Area, work took me first to Brazil then to Portugal, where I have been since 1991. I still miss Mexico though, a country which I visited and stayed in for long periods in the sixties and seventies. Of course, I am aware that the Mexico I once knew, extremely safe, mainly rural, zero narco problems, and amazingly cheap, no longer exists. That is the same for any place where you lived years before and try to go back and relive a situation that only exists in your memories. You made a great decision though in moving to Mexico. I too am very happy with my decision to remain in Portugal, one of the safest and most stable countries in the world. I do miss those tropical beaches, the frendly people, and that incredible food though.
Great life story you have lived Ray! Portugal is on our list for a few years from now. We really appreciate you watching our videos and subscribing to our channel! Thank you! Enjoy your adventures my friend! 😎
@@GeneandRenee Portugal is wonderful and should not be missed. I also loved the small towns lining the Adriatic coast of Croatia - so peaceful and spectacular! Of course, the major cities of the world are not to be missed for their history, culture, architecture, etc., but I find the off-the-beaten path areas are often the most enjoyable.
@@katherynruiz1654 That’s another place a number of people I know are moving. Further away from the US and families but I’m definitely putting that on my list of countries to check out.
Welcome to Mexico, Gene, Renee and adorable Jennie. I’m so glad you’re enjoying your travels! I love road-tripping anywhere in the world, here in Mexico I would just recommend traveling by day, using toll roads, just being aware of your surroundings, if you can caravan more power to you… San Miguel de Allende is absolutely stunning, you’ll love it there… I’m a little late but, I just subscribed… best regards!!

I just subscribed!! And I thoroughly enjoyed the video. You are spot on about the 'common sense' issue and 'respect' for your neighbours. Treat people as you would like to be treated! Glad I found your channel!
I just subscribed. Hi Gene, I watched your video today expecting a different narrative and was so pleased with your positive report of Mexico. Years ago my husband and I visited Mexico at least once a year. We have driven Baja twice, traveling down the west coast of the mainland, taking the ferry from Topolobampo to La Paz, visiting Los Cabos and driving back to California. We always had wonderful trips. Once in Cabo while shopping for snacks and ice in a little roadside grocery, I left my expensive camera on the hood of our car and returned to find two Mexican men guarding it for me. In the U.S. my camera probably would have disappeared. Current news by the American press of cartel shootings and vacationers being drugged in hotel bars, etc., has made us apprehensive about travel in Mexico. Your report is so reassuring and heart warming. Also, as you rightly point out, if I am worried about violence I better stay away from the local grocery, fast food restaurant, or theater in my home town because I am more likely to encounter violence there than most other places in the world. I look forward to your sojourn in San Miguel de Allende. Buen viaje!
Thank you Katheryn for subscribing and sharing with me your story! We have experienced so many kind people here. I know that there is crime but I know that it’s everywhere. We choose to live by faith rather than fear. Hope you have a wonderful week! 😎
I just subscribed to your channel! I find it really interesting to hear about Mexico, we have visited Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta and picking up tips is always helpful. Hope you get a lot of new subscribers.
I just subscribed. In late 70's I lived in Guanajuato, Guanajuato. In fact, I had my 13th birthday in Mexico City. San Miguel De' Allende and Leon were so fun to visit. The telephone was available twice per week, a van/truck with phones on each side and long lines of people waiting to make calls...now there is fiberoptic internet in Mexico. I loved living there. Thank you for your report, so interesting and helpful. I hope you and your wife have a great Christmas.
Wow Cindi what great memories you have! We’re in the U.S. currently but anxious to head back to Mexico in January. Thank you so much for subscribing to our channel and for joining us on the journey. We hope you enjoy a wonderful Christmas also!! 🙂
Glad I gave you a smile! 😃 People can be so closed minded. We’re living in what would be $6-700,000 condo in Virginia Beach and my mother-in-law will ask on the phone if we have things like blenders or washing machines etc. Cracks me up! Thanks for watching and subscribing! Have a great day! 😎
@@GeneandRenee You may be living in what would be $6-700,000 residence back home although it's not worth that much in Mexico. Real Estate is a local market and I have been in overseas locations where they hear us telling that we usually pay higher prices and that is what we'll get eventually. Don't want Gringo prices. When I'm overseas I pay local prices and never refer to prices back home.

I agree. My wife and I relocated to Morelia a year and a half ago. She's Mexican and I'm from Reno, Nevada. We have yet to witness any crime thus far. I too, believe the US blows the stats out of perspective. I'm sure I feel safer here than I would in a city like Chicago, or New York. If you stay aware of your surroundings, you'll be fine. We live like kings on my Social Security with plenty left over to save. We have a beautiful home in a nice area. The people, the culture, the history, and of course, the food! If you go looking for trouble you'll find it. I've been to even the most notorious cities in Mexico for cartel violence and I kept to myself and enjoyed shopping and hanging out with friends and not one time did we experience any sort of danger from cartels or gangs. Just keep to yourself and respect their culture as if you're in someone else's home and no one will bother you.
I spent a lot of time in Mexico. From the 1970's It is a narco state. Almost all is corrupt. Roads are closed at night because the Narcos own them.. Nothing is safe. If you are sill alive- you are lucky.

Your home is so beautiful 😍. Id love to retire like that And yeah, US media loves to show bad news about Mexico for clicks. It all honesty depends on the neighborhood, as any other Country. As long as you don't look for trouble or leave yourself vulnerable, your fine(again, like any other country)
Sí señor👍 los mexicanos somos gente noble, honesta y trabajadora, aquí lo mal son los gobiernos ladrones asociados con las bandas de criminales. Es verdad lo que usted dice en los puntos que mencionó.
I just subscribed. Great video! Are you learning Spanish while in Mexico? I am a single woman over 60 what challenges might I expect if following your example? I so agree it drives me a little crazy when I hear US citizens talking about how unsafe it is to travel to Mexico. It's May 2022 and there have been well over 150 mass shootings in the US and there are more guns than people.
Susan, thank you for subscribing to our channel and watching our videos. We appreciate you! We are trying to learn Spanish but for us it is a very slow process. The locals are very kind and appreciative when you are at least trying. As for a single woman I personally would not suggest that you drive alone but that you fly. I would also suggest a city like Puerto Vallarta where you could be around a lot of other expats. We just got into San Miguel de Allende a week ago and this may be another option for you. Hopefully as we post more videos you will discover the answer to that question. Thanks again for subscribing, have a wonderful day! 😎

I lived in Mex for 3 years. I can tell you the countdown has already started for the "Why We Left Mexico" video to drop. The endless layer upon layer of corruption and dysfunction in every aspect of society will quickly exhaust your patience and eventually threaten your personal safety. The dream has already started to die... it's just a matter of time.

Wealthier Mexicans aren’t. The majority are from Central America. Those from Mexico who are trying to get to the USA are doing so for work. If they can work in the USA for 10-15 years they’d be able to go back to Mexico and retire very well. Thanks for watching! Hope you had a great weekend! 🙂

Same as in the U.S. We have found the people here to be very friendly and welcoming. Not to say that every one is but at least the ones we’ve met so far. We hope you enjoy your week. Keep enjoying the journey! 😎
Thank you for letting us know that Mexico is safe….. listening to the news sounds like moving to Mexico is like we are going on suicide mission…..looking forward for returning to Mexico.
Salvatore thank you for watching our videos! I believe that most places are safe as long as you don’t engage in risky behavior, don’t stay out after dark, treat others with kindness and respect, and are aware of your surroundings. This has worked for us wherever we have lived. Take care and have a great week! 🙂
Wow--I'm half way through now & I completely agree! I've been going to various parts of MX for the last 20 years; including to non-tourist areas to do wheelchair clinics and autism trainings. Over time, I really started to question the messaging we were getting re MX vs US, & especially as a teacher & parent of a school-age child, I don't feel safe here anymore--never heard of a SINGLE school shooting in Mexico. They love their kids, Cartels & all--you would NEVER see what's happening here down there. Ironically, I think the cartels would go balls out against anyone who shot up a school full of kids. Not saying they're good, just saying there's something we could improve on here--by a LONG shot (ugh--excuse the pun)
Mary from what my daughter sent me, there have been 288 instances of gunfire on USA school campuses in 2022 compared to 8 in Mexico. The USA definitely has a big problem. And since there’s only 1 gun store in Mexico, most of the illegal guns in Mexico are coming out of the USA.
Yep, the Sinaloa cartel recently built two new schools and two new libraries near Mazatlan. They have families that live near there and make sure it stays safe for everybody.
Loved your video Gene! We love living in Ajijic, Mexico. Feel free to stay in our casita with your pup for free for a week and make videos about Ajijic. 😊
Annette, thank you for subscribing! Also, thank you for the invite!! We may take you up on that one day. Our plans are San Miguel de Allende for May-August, then Puebla for September-October. In November we’ll start heading back to Virginia to see family for the holidays, then back to 🇲🇽 for 2023. We appreciate you and our friends who are helping us to grow the channel! 😎
I was born in Mexico City and my wife is from Trinidad and Tobago. I just turned 51 and when we retire, we are going to move to Mexico permanently. Gun violence, school shootings, political craziness and cost of living in the U.S is just out of control. It's a shame what has happened to the U.S. I thank you for your honest review of Mexico. Most Americans think very low of Mexicans and believe they are lazy and dirty. They don't realize how beautiful Mexico truly is.
Al I appreciate your kind words. Mexico is a beautiful country and 99.9% of the people are kind, gracious, and very welcoming. I agree that what’s happened to the USA is terrible and I only hope they can reverse this and return to the country they were 80 years ago. We wish you and your wife the very best as you think ahead to retirement. Thank you for watching our videos and joining us on the journey! 🙂
There is also crime and more corruption in Mexico, don't kid yourself. Los Angeles and other big cities do have crime, but live in smaller cities like simi valley, CA
“Dios les bendiga amigos” 🙏Thank you for the information about living in Mexico. However, I’d like to know if there’s any way foreigners have the opportunity to become homeowners just under a Temporary or Permanent Residency?. Thanks ahead for your kindly reply. Greetings from California 🌹
Rebecca thank you for watching and subscribing! Here are a few links to someone who actually knows what they’re talking about concerning your question: ua-cam.com/video/ZODUhp8MSA0/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/q-nDJy0t_SY/v-deo.html Hope this helps! 😎
yes, you can have a house in mexico legaly if you have a temporary residency; because you always be able to renew your temporary residence or extend to permanent residence ;)
Unless laws have recently changed, you don’t have to be a resident to own a home in Mexico. Anyone can buy a home, within or outside of the restricted zone. However, if you are not a permanent resident and you sell your home, you will be subject to the 30% capital gains tax.
Thank you Dorothy for subscribing to our channel and for watching our adventures. We appreciate you! Hope you enjoy our videos and that you enjoy your tour next month! That sounds amazing!! 🙂
Our gun law is even more restricted , and it’s awesome 👍 plus we got sociale security so having a disabled kid does not mean being broke for live like in the states.
First of all, Nicholas thank you for your service to the country!! 🫡 We appreciate you watching our videos and joining us on the Journey. Hope you’re having an awesome week! 😎

I JUST SUBSCRIBED 👉 I'm a 70 years young single English man living on O'ahu Hawai'i. I been doing VanLife for 5 years, in my Chevy cargo van. I'm now thinking of taking my van to Mexico.. so I'm looking to do my homework to make this happen. Any pointers and advice is greatly appreciated Thank you 🙃
Thank you Peter for subscribing to our channel and for joining us on the journey. Van-life on O’ahu….man I’m jealous!!! Don’t have a clue of how to help. I’m sure it will be very expensive to get the van across the water. Look into what your Temporary Import Permit will cost but realize that it’s doubtful you’ll get it back when you travel to the U.S. They say that you will, and some people seem to get it, but I’m still waiting on mine. I just consider it a “tax.” Other thoughts that I’m sure you already know, travel during the daytime and as much as possible on toll roads. Other than that I’m at a loss as to how informative I can be. Sorry my friend. Peter we do appreciate you watching our videos and hope that you’re enjoying an awesome week! 😎
I just subscribed … and am about to watch your video. My husband Jorge, our Golden Retriever Buddy, and I moved from Dallas, Texas, to Querétaro, a little over two years ago. We are retired teachers. We love it here. I lived in my beloved Dallas for 67 years (Jorge for 30 years - he is originally from Puebla). We will celebrate our 33rd anniversary in November. We are renting an apartment in Juriquilla with lovely views of the hills in the distance. We don’t plan to buy property here … we are confirmed renters. :-) We owned three homes over 30 years in Dallas … we now want more flexibility in where we live. We have lived in different parts of the city of Querétaro … the last being the central historic district … but we missed the open spaces of Juriquilla, so here we are back in this area and very content. ¡Saludos! Joseph (“Pepe”) Quillian
Thank you for subscribing to our channel and joining us on the Journey! I can understand renting. We have owned numerous homes throughout the years and now that we’re retired and enjoying travel we don’t want anything holding us down to one location. Enjoy the beauty of Queretaro and make sure to visit San Miguel de Allende if you haven’t already done so. We were there for 3 months, did lots of videos, and love the city. Take care mi amigo! 😎

Very interesting. I'm a retired teacher. And a widow. And only 63. I've watched many videos of Mexico residents and it looks to be a nice place. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I'm from Mississippi! I speak southern too!

I lived in Mexico for six years and adored every minute. Unfortunately, I had to return to Canada because of cancer. I built my own home, made wonderful friends, and was accepted into the well established artist community. It's an incredible country and a beautiful way of life. I miss it terribly.
Donna thank you for sharing. We appreciate you watching our videos and subscribing to our channel. Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! 🙂
@@alittleofthisandthat8003 I wish you well on your journey. May you find the help you require.
What a beautiful appreciation of Mexico, not so square!!!🤝🏻🇲🇽‼️🌶️
If you’re only looking for negative issues, I suggest you look at a video like this: ua-cam.com/video/h72Pp2aECbI/v-deo.html or ua-cam.com/video/BqjxsuzJRWY/v-deo.html
that lists pros and cons.
I agree in US every date there’re crime, murder, robberies etc..but don’t say on TV News , It ‘ be Full of Crime News.
I have lived in Mexico for 14 years, now a permanent resident. I will be getting my Mexican
Citizenship this summer,. Mexico Changed my life in ways I cannot express. The Kindness
and warmth of the Mexican people, The celebrations of Culture are among the top. Of course
the cost of living here is 70% less than where I came from in California. I live in northern
Nayarit away from the hustle and bustle of larger towns which is my preference. I live on the
beach in a town of 800 people. I have never once felt or have been treated as an outsider. My
opinion is important when I attend town meetings and I try to participate as much as possible
in local events. I cant see me returning to the US on a permanent basis due to the hateful
environment, and a completely non functioning government. I'm proud to be an American but
our country has clearly lost its way in so many ways. If you do choose to relocate here
you MUST embrace Mexico with a non judgmental attitude. Things move at a slower pace here
you might be without power for a day or 2, may take a week to get the phone company out to
repair and you can order online bur expect it taking 2 weeks in most places to get to you. That
caused much frustration when I first moved here always comparing it to home. Took me about
1 year to cleanse myself of that attitude. I am so grateful for Mexico giving me such a kind
place to call home. Could not wich for more. You will love San Miguel, I visited allot when I
lived in Guanajuato for 1 year.
Robert I understand. 😢
I wish I can say the same about my experience in the US. However, I hope you are paying taxes and, in the 14 years you being in Mexico, You already learn how to speak Spanish. Sorry just a few things I learned in Your country.
👋💐💐💐💐💐💃
You choose to live in Mexico because you are passionate about living among a very peaceful and loving people and it’s such a beautiful country !🇲🇽
Right you are Kit Kat! Hope you’re having a an awesome week! 🙂
Tom you are right. Everyone, everywhere, needs to use wisdom and not make unsafe decisions. Thank you for watching! 😎

@@GeneandRenee I'm so sorry that happened
I love the straight forward way you present the info. My wife and I had given thought to stay in Mexico but, decided not to because of all the negative news about kidnappings.
You report sheds a different light.
Violence is everywhere in the world. The key is to be aware of your surroundings, not put yourself into dangerous situations, stay away from drugs, and stay in at night. That’s the same advice I have for anyone… Even in the USA. Thank you Paul for watching our videos and for joining us on the journey. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

You’re out of your fucking mind. Most European countries aren’t run by drug cartels, stupid.
I lived in eastern Europe. And I'm Slavic so I can say this--what a DEPRESSED people. Latinos have been nothing but friendly to me in Mazatlan. Every country does have problems. But the Mexicans have been really nice to me as I have been slowly learning spanish

Hi, I’m a Mexican American and live in Chicago IL I like your comments about Mexico. It’s refreshing to hear good things about Mexico. Because after what the former President said about Mexican that they were Rapists, I appreciate you saying the truth about Mexico and their people. Thank you!

dont exagerate, the former president did not say everbody is rapist.

Thank you Jane! Have a wonderful day! 😎
You made me laugh😂. You put it perfectly. I'm referring to people being so afraid of living abroad... when America is saturated with violence.
Mexico has more murders, more poverty, no healthcare, and bigger ghettos.
American expat here living in SW Turkey Warsaw Poland is fantastic lifestyle if you don't mind 4 seasons
Frederick thank you for watching! Have a great day! 🙂
I just subscribed! Alan & I have been going to Mexico for years & love it! Especially Puerto Vallarta & Nuevo Vallarta!
Wow, cool! Thanks Carolee! With Alan retiring I see a lot more travel in your future! 😎 Enjoy your journeys!!!
Enjoy Mexico amigos. We are living in Los Ángeles waiting to retire in Mexico
Thank you Mr. Bear! We appreciate you watching and subscribing! Here’s to your future retirement! 😎
Sell your house and you'll have enough for life
What a good video. I am planning on moving with my wife to Mexico next year. All this information is very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you Rodrigo! We have tons of videos showing life and insight to Mexico. Be sure to subscribe (if you have not already done so) and join us on the Journey. We wish you both the very best as you make your plans for next year!! 😎
The best move I ever made! VIVA MEXICO 🇲🇽

Thanks for responding, many channels don't. I'll keep following!
@@GeneandRenee Small world!
We just booked a weeks vacation to Baja Sur, for the end of January. I'll post a review, if that's ok.
Thanks again!
I subscribed . so glad you are enjoying Iretirement in Mexico. Love the informative videos. God Bless!
Wow Steve, thank you! God bless buddy! 😎
I agree John. Thank you for watching our videos! 🙂
U hope
@@Doug-zl8nb no I know for a fact. Like I said I've been there and lived there, as a white man.
Thank you for sharing your story. I had no idea.
It's good to hear that you are in a safe location in Mexico!
I spent a lot of time in Mexico. From the 1970's It is a narco state. Almost all is corrupt. Roads are closed at night because the Narcos own them.. Nothing is safe. If you are sill alive- you are lucky.
Just subscribed to your channel today .very good explanation about recent move to Mexico . we have a place in bucerias for 4 years . before we were renting in bucerias as well . Love your little white dog keep on watching your videos to come thanks The Carter family in Vancouver Canada

Love Bucerias as well
It is a cool little town with plenty going on. 😃
I just subscribed! Wow, I'm seriously considering retiring in Mexico a year from now. First stop Matazlan, Puerto Vallarta, and then unto San Miguel de Allende, along with my best friend, a 1-year-old toy poodle named Chloe. I have a feeling we're really going to love San Miguel de Allende. I look forward to seeing your video of San Miguel de Allende and I hope you and your family have a safe and spectacular adventure.
Thank you so much! We’re thrilled that we can bring you and all our friends on our video adventures! 😎
You have the same itinerary as me! Although I have a frenchie and yorkie poo lol:) we should connect!

Gene, thanks for making this video. It drives home the importance of good location. And for Mexico, Puerto Vallarta is about as good as it gets.
Thank you Harlan for joining us on the journey. Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful town! We appreciate you watching our videos and hope that you’re enjoying an awesome week! 😎
I just subscribed. You are absolutely right, every country on earth has crime, but the main stream media seems to make sure Mexico gets more than its share. We have visited Mexico a few times and the people are so welcoming and friendly. If we moved anywhere on earth, Mexico would be our first choice!
Arnold thank you for subscribing and for watching our video adventures. More USA expats move to Mexico than any other country. Hope you’re having a fabulous week! 😎

I've just subscribed. I grew up in Eastern Europe before relocating to Canada. In Eastern Europe, Mexican and Latin American music was extremally popular and people loved it. I've been to Mexico several times and now coming close to retirement, I really consider living there during the cold months of Canadian winter. I am looking forward to learn more about your experiences there.

Thank you for subscribing Carrie! I understand about the insane costs for retirees in the U.S. Bless you dear as you plan for your future. 😎
I just subscribed..thank you for the info .I am retired and looking to move to Mexico also (unfortunately my husband if 30 years is hesitant as the propaganda in America has really gotten many people afraid to even travel to mexico)..I love Mexico .I love the people, the culture, the food and the beautiful beaches.and have visited many times these past 40 years ...its nice to see older people like myself not living in fear😇🥰I look forward to your upcoming travels and your puppy is precious (all dogs no matter their age are puppies to me😁)
Thank you Christina! We appreciate you watching our videos and subscribing. Best of luck to you and your husband in your plans and future travels. Talk about it together, make decisions together, we wish you the very best! Just like there are areas in every country that it is wise not to travel to, there are areas in Mexico that are not safe. We always suggest for people to join Expat groups on Facebook, for the areas that you would like to travel to, and listen to what people there on the ground are saying. Hope this helps! 😎

Just Subscribed. We are new Mexican residents and have been amazed by the warmth and kindness we have experienced all over Mexico. I loved your observation that this seemed like how it was 50 years ago when you were younger. Exactly our observation! Problems? Poverty? Yes & Yes. A great place to live? Absolutely! We are following your channel. Great video. We have been producing videos too. Tons of fun!

Especially all the mass shootings going on. Schools, mall’s, supermarket’s and now holidays events like 4th of July. Then you have to worry about housing increases and gas prices because of inflation.

test for time, so that you realize how to live in Mexico, it is not the same to live and to visit.
I stayed in La Manzanilla Del Mar Jalisco, México in Central Mexico for 3 winter months. We slept with the door open and unlocked every night. I walked the streets at 12:00 at night with no problems.
Your home is so beautiful 😍. Id love to retire like that
And yeah, US media loves to show bad news about Mexico for clicks. It all honesty depends on the neighborhood, as any other Country. As long as you don't look for trouble or leave yourself vulnerable, your fine(again, like any other country)
Thank you for watching! Hope your week is starting off great. We appreciate you watching and subscribing. 🙂
Sí señor👍 los mexicanos somos gente noble, honesta y trabajadora, aquí lo mal son los gobiernos ladrones asociados con las bandas de criminales. Es verdad lo que usted dice en los puntos que mencionó.
Thank you Stela! We appreciate you watching our videos and joining us on the journey! 🙂
Ven un día de paseó para que te des cuenta...si te gusta o no!!! Sigue la recomendación...de El, de preferencia no viajes sóla ... Persige tus sueños, pero que estés bien astuta... Hello! We just took on a palapa in Yelapa. We've been stressing about getting our three large dogs down there from the east coast, especially as we'll have to do the trip every six months during the reno. It would be wonderful if you would do a video on the logistics of getting from Virginia Beach to PV with a dog.
Hmmm, that’s an interesting thought. We’ll definitely put that in our list of ideas for episodes. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Have a great day! 😎
I love Mexico and the people 🥰 I’ve only ever visited for vacation but if I had a husband I would do exactly what you are doing !!!
Why do you need a husband? I'm 71 and leaving soon for a trip to Lake Chapala and Melaque.
You don’t need a husband to move there. Not one bit.
Research and GO!!
If you are thinking about having company while learning about living here, grab a girlfriend and come on down.

No one goes to Mexico for bureaucracy. That was your first mistake.
@@locolalo1364 What? If the cops are corrupt, they extort you. There were three bodies hanging from the overpass a half mile from our house. A month later our neighbors son was kidnapped. What the hell are you talking about bureaucracy? It's a third world sh*thole run by drug gangs.
Any place where people are flooding to get out! Can't imagine why any1 would want in?
Wealthier Mexicans aren’t. The majority are from Central America. Those from Mexico who are trying to get to the USA are doing so for work. If they can work in the USA for 10-15 years they’d be able to go back to Mexico and retire very well. Thanks for watching! Hope you had a great weekend! 🙂
@@GeneandRenee They're not coming here to work, why would they? When they get free housing/hotel, an Obama phone, free meals. All the new hires at work aren't immigrants, they're nowhere to be found. They want em to take all the laboring jobs but it back fired on them.
Siempre un placer vivir en mexico
Just subscribed, I’ve always wanted to move to Mexico where my roots are, I currently live in Canada but I’m a proud USA born amigo, I go to Mexico and USA almost every year(not last 2 years for obvious reasons) but I’m planning to retire in Mexico at hopefully 50yo, what would you consider a safe place to retire where my money can last longer?
Thank you amigo for subscribing to our channel! Hmmm, a place where your money goes further, that’s safe, and has things of interest for a 50 year old. I’d suggest Merida on the Yucatán peninsula, Mexico City, Puebla, Chapala, Nuevo Vallarta, or even Ensenada. We hope you enjoy our adventures! 😎
A Sayulita!!!

I just subscribed. You have done something my husband and I always wanted to do ~ but the fear and people's voices tell us how dangerous it's in Mexico. We go every year for the past 21 years but we always thought of going for months ... WINTER MONTHS
Eliza thank you for subscribing to our channel! We appreciate you! I understand. The USA news media and the State department is quick to report the dangers of other countries but not as quick to report the dangers of the U.S. You have to do your research, use common sense, and as much as possible keep yourself out of sketchy situations. Same as in the U.S. We have found the people here to be very friendly and welcoming. Not to say that every one is but at least the ones we’ve met so far. We hope you enjoy your week. Keep enjoying the journey! 😎
I’ve been everywhere, never had any issues whatsoever.
Jajaja entonces porque dicen que tiene miedo de venir, si ya tiene años de hacerlo. Si no eres primeriza.
Hahaha Then why do you say that you are afraid to come to Mexico if you already know it and have come several times... I don't understand.
It is dangerous!!
@@GeneandRenee We have the CIA and FBI to thank for that. Don't forget the drugs all three smuggle.
Yep, the Sinaloa cartel recently built two new schools and two new libraries near Mazatlan. They have families that live near there and make sure it stays safe for everybody.

It's a shame what has happened to the U.S. I thank you for your honest review of Mexico. Most Americans think very low of Mexicans and believe they are lazy and dirty. They don't realize how beautiful Mexico truly is.
Al I appreciate your kind words. Mexico is a beautiful country and 99.9% of the people are kind, gracious, and very welcoming. yes, you can have a house in mexico legaly if you have a temporary residency; because you always be able to renew your temporary residence or extend to permanent residence ;)
Unless laws have recently changed, you don’t have to be a resident to own a home in Mexico. Anyone can buy a home, within or outside of the restricted zone. However, if you are not a permanent resident and you sell your home, you will be subject to the 30% capital gains tax.
