      When you put your fingers in the watch, the watch produces a light electric current, and because of the difference in the speed of transmission of electricity from fat to muscles to... , you can calculate the percentage of fat and so on. Almost all companies use this technology, but the best company is the owner of this invention called inbody and it is more A minute from the rest of the bullshit in the market including xiaomi

    Hey Michael! Just discovered you today. Was looking for a Galaxy Watch 4 review. And I must say, this is the best review out there by a huge margin. Unlike other youtubers who just walk us through the specsheet and add their opinions, it really shows in the video that you have throughly tested the device and your review is more from the user's point of view. Covers everything I wanted to know before I make a purchase. Have pre-ordered it. Let's hope it doesn't make me regret not buying Fitbit Sense which has a much better battery life I have heard and all the health features are approved here in India. On that point, none of the previous Samsung Watches got full approval here which makes me sceptical for this as well. If one takes out ECG & BP functionality, would you say there are better value for money alternatives out there? Coming from Emporio Armani Smartwatch 3 which only had heart rate tracking, this is certainly a big upgrade, but the battery life of my EA was a huge concern for me, had to charge it twice daily, which by the looks of it seems like it will be haunting me with this one as well. Great video anyways, just a small suggestion, if possible talk a more about the mechanics of certain features, like how they work, how are the insights etc.

    • @MafiaMendel
      @MafiaMendel Рік тому

      @@jagsbond it is working fine. right now in India it is available for under 8000, in that price range it is certainly the most accurate Smartwatch out there but it absolutely isn't medical grade so you have to keep that in mind. BP and ECG are not yet available in India but you can always side load them and use them in India. ECG is pretty accurate but BP not as much, it is a good indicator but you cannot relay upon it when you need it like when you are feeling some discomfort. activity tracking has been very good on this watch I have nothing to complain about sometimes when I am not using GPS then accuracy of my path can be a bit off but mostly it is acceptable. again we have to look at the price we are getting it and in 8000 rupees this will be the most accurate watch you will find. battery life is anywhere between one day and 2 days depending up on the usage, how much activity tracking have you done how much display you are using and if you are using mobile networks. it still has three major updates over 2 years left so nice right now is any good a time to buy it.

    That was a great unbiased review, thank you very much from North Yorkshire England. I have been a Watch 4 user for a few months now and I just love it. Using the USB charger, my phone is up and running in about an hour to an hour and a half (40mm version) it had google assistant straight out of the box, the ecg will now warn you of any issues and the blood pressure monitor is both easy to set up and darn accurate too. I love the sleep tracking and have no issues with the deep sleep monitoring whatsoever. I guess in a year the watch 4 has improved dramatically. The Watch 5 was on sale when I got mine but I could not justify the extra cost and the 4 is an absolute bargain. If anybody is in the market for a top end smartwatch, the Watch 4 is a no brainer must purchase.

      What about battery ?

    • @N1k37ick
      @N1k37ick 3 роки тому

      @@dinon367 yep for me, my 44mm is a 1 day device, maybe 1.5 in a pinch.
      I've been pleasantly surprised with the GPS battery however - Am keen to do more testing, but today I went on a 3 hour hike with only about 30% battery drop - Samsung hasn't given any official numbers, but I can see it being a 9-11 hour Battery life with GPS ON (admittedly, I had to turn off some settings like AOD, and Wifi+BT). For Music + GPS runs, I've had about 25-35% battery drain per hour, so probably 2-4 hour battery life with GPS + MUSIC. TBH This isn't far off from some of the old Fitbit devices I've tried in the past. Again, keen to do more testing.
      I think it's quite similar to the way that my friends have described their Apple Watches - I feel like that the Apple ones have similar shortcomings with battery + having to charge daily. The battery life is not amazing on the GW4, but I feel like it is line with a watch with these smart features, design, screen, and thin-ness!

    Great review. I have a Samsung Gear S3 and have been waiting to upgrade because Samsung has only made minor updates through the years. I thought this would be the year to get into a new Samsung watch, but the lackluster fitness tracking and the incredibly poor battery life convinced me to go with a Garmin Venu 2. I get 10 days of battery life and amazing fitness tracking including coaching and building your own training plans. The only thing I lost was the ability to take calls from the watch. I liked that feature, but not enough to take such a hit on battery life.

    • @aprilchaney250
      @aprilchaney250 3 роки тому +1

      The build your own workouts thing is one of the main reasons I'm considering venu over the Samsung. I know the app workout trainer will allow you to build workouts for the Samsung but that's one more place to have to view stats rather than just the connect dashboard. :/

    This is the first Fitbit I have used. It has some new features ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxbkrje8Y7BaqRkAjimw-55ajvVo7RbcIp and I like the information that it gives me.I think the phone app could be designed to be a bit more accommodating, as it can be confusing to use. The rubber band is comfortable, and normally I do not like rubber bands for my watches, but this is comfortable.I am looking forward to seeing if this helps me stay accountable in my fitness endeavors!My only gripe is the box was very damaged when it arrived, however, the tracker is performing perfectly!

    Strava doesn't notify you of distance intervals any more. It did on my frontier but not on my gw4. I'm gonna try to use the Samsung health app to track and transfer the data to Strava.

    Best watch for an android user? Are you including Garmin in there? I’m switching back to android and I’m looking for a good smartwatch with great fitness features. I just recently looked into Garmin which seems to be more accurate? However, the galaxy watch may have better smart features. I don’t know. I wish I knew someone who could compare the top smartwatches for android. Fitbit sense, galaxy watch 4 and Garmin venue 2 plus. Amazing review by the way. Incredibly thorough. Best review I’ve seen on the watch. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this.

    I find that interesting, that no one mentions the problem, that the galaxy watch 4 tends to lose the heart rate quite so often during workouts, even when you do everything right, and the watch should be able to get the readings. I had the same problem with the watch active as well. I am disappointed, that samsung didn't manage to solve that issue for so long. I loved the watch for every other aspect, but I returned it because this bug.
    So just a tip: if you want to track fitness and don't want to check your watch every 5 minutes worried whether it still records heart rate data, you should not buy a samsung watch.

If you would like to use your watch for activity tracking I highly recommend considering a different brand. @@user-mj6qr2ky9d I purchased a Fenix 6s Pro and I use it with a samsung phone. There is no native app for google turn by turn navigation, but you can download 3rd party apps that can do it for you. There are videos on YT if you would like to look into it. It will not give you that smooth experience that the GW4 did with the google navigation, but it works. If you would like maps for trekking or mountaineering then the F6 gets you covered.
      Edit: Battery life is around 6-7 days with normal use for the smallest model. The bigger models have even more.

    As of 2023, the Watch 4 Classic can at least track reps and sets for _some_ exercises. The ones I've tested are:
    - crunches
    - back extensions
    - bench press
    - deadlift
    - squats
    - curls
    - tricep extensions
    - lateral raises
    - lat pulldowns
    It's not a lot, but at least for some of these workouts, it'll detect variations as the same thing. For example, it'll count a standing cable press-down, a standing overhead ez-bar extension, _and_ a lying skullcrusher all as "triceps extensions." Same with deadlifts: standard deadlifts, sumos, RDLs, kettlebell deadlifts, will all tick reps for "deadlifts."
    The only exercise that seems a bit finicky are bench presses; it'll count flat bench bar/dumbbell and incline bar/dumbbell, but it doesn't like seated machine presses. It won't even start the workout.
    Outside of that, the only other problem I see is that while it'll track reps and sets, it won't track weights. You'll have to leave a note on each exercise what weights you used, after the fact. And it won't be quantified in any sort of manner the way Garmin Connect does.
    That said, it's still a far better option than Google Fit or Huawei Health. Those two are just for cardio.
    PS, you'll find an option for "circuit training" which I think covers HIIT.

    Nice job. Really have not found any other review with as much detail on the fitness aspect of the 4. I have the LTE Classic on order ship around the 14th of September. Had a couple of questions. 1. If I recall correctly the 4 has the ability to run Google Fit or Samsung Health, but can only run on or the other not both. Is that correct? 2. One other review I saw, the reviewer was scrolling the fitness app on the watch and the watch had a +(plus) symbol which looked like you could add an exercise or activity. Are you finally able to add an activity to the watch from Samsung Health on your phone or does it still just use what is stored on the watch and is hidden? Example Samsung Health on the phone has a list of activities such as Rowing, Kayaking or Skiing. Can I add one of these activities to the 4? For whatever reason Samsung since the beginning with the GearFit in 2017 has resisted allowing you to add activities. Hoping they finally changed.

    Have you had it in a pool? River/lake? Most waterproof testing is done on a counter top, meaning it doesn't actually test real life uses! Shower seems important as well, but a swimmer going for a swim is much different

      I believe he's wearing the 44mm watch 4. Ok I made some more observations. When you see the blue strapped galaxy watch in the beginning of the video it's the 44mm. The one he's wearing at briefly at15:37 is definitely the 40mm. You can tell by the bezel size and obviously smaller look. So he seemlying wore the 44mm in most of the video.

      If you want to see the 44mm on a small wrist. There s channel called CJ unplugged. He has skinny arms like this dude but he has the 44mm watch. It also seems to fit well on smaller wrist tbh. The straps on the watch stick out a bit so I'm thinking if you get the 44 and change out the strap to a reg watch band. The 44 should be fine. That's what I'm thinking about doing because I'm pretty slim myself. Still tryna cement my decision though but that's were I'm at currently.

    Thanks Brett! Really enjoyed it! Also, I want to add here, recently I started using this watch to see my glucose readings from FreeStyle Libre sensor without the phone, which was not possible with previous versions of the Galaxy Watch3 and before. To get FreeStyle Libre sensor readings on the watch, I paired my NightRider BluCon device to an app LinkBluCon on watch and placed the NightRider BluCon device on top of the Libre sensor with the help of a patch, I know how difficult for people with diabetes to monitor it without good tools
