I always find it so cool when I'm watching an old review and the reviewer says "If you're watching months or even years from now, this might have changed". It's really interesting how they acklowledge that.
I immediately saw this comment when I heard that

I came from an OG Ticwatch E which was dreadful so, bugs or no bugs, this watch has been a heavenly upgrade.
I had the Ticwatch Pro from a few years ago and even compared to that this thing is incredible
I currently still use my ticwatch E that i got back in 2018. Its definitely showing its age and is slowing down and the battery just doesnt quite last as long anymore. definitely buggy and menus are laggy etc. Been thinking about upgrading for a little while. Since you have had it for about 7 more months now, Hows it been? still very happy with it?
I bought one this past week. Your video is 6 months old now. I will say that most of the bugs you talked about have been dealt with. Not being compatible with IPhone, if I'm being honest (and petty)... makes me happy. I've been using Samsung products almost exclusively for any mobile device for a decade now. I'm extremely satisfied with the watch. I got the classic as well. Dick Tracy would be jealous.

And has always on display brightness improve??
@@majjjjjjjjj bro is galaxy watch 4 brightness good especially on always on display??

@Rahel S because the other phone industry is tired of Apple's greediness. When Apple makes something new and helpful to the phone industry, they don't want to share it, but the others do. Google and Samsung have now started turning things around. If Apple doesn't want anything to do with the others, they also had had it. Google's new message update has turned the annoying message you get when someone reacts to your message in iMessage to iPhone. Samsung has started making the devices less compatible with Apple devices.
Thank you for this thorough and concise review. Super helpful!!
Just bought this watch and can't wait for it to arrive! this video has helped a lot for picking the best watch! thanks!
Keep posting such honest and in-depth reviews, epic work mate, epic work!
Hello everyone, I have bought this watch yesterday, the 44 mm diam. For €129, and I got a Wear OS update some hours, after my acquisition, this watch is very good and cool, she had the Google Assistant and Bixby, so, you have the choice and there is no bug I have seen. She impressed me, thanks Samsung.👍
Got mine a few days ago and so far it's been a really great experience! I do notice some of those flaws you pointed out but overall I believe this is the best watch for the average Android user, and the closest thing we have to an Apple Watch - iPhone type relationship
Did you get the gw4 or gw4classic?

Thinking I'll stick with my GearS3 classic for a while still. Had several Wear OS devices previously, not ready to go back as it sounds like there are still some kinks to workout. I'm really happy they worked at this partnership though! I hope Samsung was able to bring the best of Tizen to the mix.
I love tizen ,samsung could have just developed tizen and the app store then it would have been perfect
Lol i still have my gear s3 love it and it lasts 3 days its so good has never let me down since an update 2yesrs ago
Same here its not broke so no need to fix the situation 💯
Still have Gear 3 from Nov 2018. Hardly use any of its features, apart from notifications and exercise when jogging (infrequently). App store is next to useless, which is why I like the idea of Wear OS. Just the battery life is making decision on which watch to opt for or wait! Ideally want a waterproof one for holiday time.
Such a great UA-camr! Amazing production and good voice, tone and intonation.
Hi Mark. Thanks for the review. They are on sale in Toronto right now. Was thinking on getting one. Greetings.
a year later, still very valuable review! thanks for this
I actually went for the classic for the classic I got the Galaxy 4 classic and the watch has been great it may not be real Polished But it's a great watch I love My 46 mm It makes Wear OS Much better
very detailed review... loved it..
Good video, thank you for your advice...👍🏽
An update should fix most of all of these prolems. I hope! I love the watch 4 so far
Very informative. Thank you.
I just got the Watch 4 Classic most of your bugs and nitpicks were gone but you're right though the software is whats holding it back because the hardware is amazing the rotating bezel is so satisfying
I guess that is why Samsung stuck with Tiazen OS for so long.
I love this watch. I agree that it's not perfect, but once they iron out the kinks, it should be great.
Are there still the kniks?
Bro does raise to wake work properly on watch 4 44mm??
@@ficoIK To be honest, the watch has gotten better over time for me (with updates etc) . It now has the official Google assistant too.
@@waqasrf20 I'm not sure. I don't use those features as I prefer to save more battery. I use tap to wake instead.

The best part of this video was the genuine statement at the end when you said "this watch doesn't live up to the personal hype I created, but it doesn't mean it lacks potential". I am wearing one now and absolutely loving it 😁🤘 neat job mate!
Are a lot of the bugs fixed?
I just bought the 46 Galaxy Watch 4 about 2 days ago and have is paired with my Galaxy a42 5g and love it so far. Well worth the money I spent on it to me.
Thx for sharing your thoughts
Really informative!
I'm super happy with this watch and only wish it has bit longer battery life.
My watch 4 classic 44mm last a full 2 days??
Me either
I usually get a full day with the battery around 20-30% when I charge it. That is with all the features turned on. I'm sure I could probably get 2 days if I turned everything off but then what would be the point of having all extra features if you don't use them.
What make you happier for this watch can u explain?
@Deathplan Hi my friend
I bought it three weeks ago and it will work 1.5 to 2 days only.
Also, charging time will take 2 hours to charge it from 0 to 100%
Went to the closest Samsung Store and they were out... Will probably still buy it once it's in stock. Would love to see a follow-up video in a few months regardless!
Thank you for this video. The cons were very important. Especially the compatibility between the watch and iPhone.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, 46mm. I spent a weekend with it, the following week on Tuesday I returned it to get my money back and went back to enjoying my Apple Watch 7 Series. Thank you Apple.
would love an update on this with either what updated on the watch4 or what has been changed with the watch5
@6:48 That's the subtlest subscribe request I have ever seen in a youtube video 😁
That was brilliant! Thank you
Ordered mine and got it a day later. Super fast shipping there -- honestly freaked me out, but I'll have to wait until my work trip concludes to try it out. Super stoked!
Hows it so far? Is the battery bad as they say?
Where did you order yours
Ur experience?
The bugs are there even if slightly overstated based on daily usage but this watch is smooth. This is hands down the best smartwatch I have ever used which is something I couldn't say about anything other than apple watches prior to it's release
Yeah I hate the bugs but love the watch. Since I carry iphone and Apple Watch 7, the bugs made me use the Galaxy watch 4 as my night time device. Basically that’s good because I find the sleep tracker way better here anyway. Visually galaxy health is easier to read too. But my lte version sucks up battery. It’s also good for the times you thought you charged a watch but it didn’t do charge, so in a pinch I can grab the gw4 to use while my AW7 charges.
Bro does raise to wake work properly on watch 4 44mm??
I bought this watch lte version twice when it first came out and 6 months later over heating battery life to short. I returned both. I really wanted this watch to work properly advertised if you're listening to music offline using your lte you will be charging this watch twice a day in between the overheating.
"of course, these may all be fixed in the future..."

@@SpaceMissile haha same
You won't want to downgrade to the iPhone. You have chosen the better phone
I remember a few months ago when Mark had 90k subs
Considering getting one, but I'm not too keen on charging it everyday.
Just charge it for the 30 mins- 1hr (0-70%) in the morning when you're showering and making breakfast. Should last rest of day..
Same bro same 🤣
Exactly the same. If it had 4-5 days, I'd buy it no questions, but read many reviews stating less than a day to a day! Just not acceptable. Wondered if you can turn off needless features to save battery, like 24/7 heart monitoring that I don't need.
Just get watch 5, it wont be that expensive, the regular version, not the pro.
Then don't get it. It's been a pain to recharge it everyday
As for always on display, isn't the brightness tuned down because it's an OLED display (not liking bright white spots for prolongated times, it could damage the screen // TV)?
Possibly!
Yes, AOD is limited to 15% by Samsung. Other apps don't follow this so you have to set it up yourself
@@d35p0 bro is this always on display brightness issue is on watch 4 or all galaxy watches??
@@d35p0 so how many hour we can use AOD without damage the screen?

What a clean opinion. Keep it up m8☝️👌
I have the Galaxy watch 4 classic 46 mm and so far it is amazing especially when using the Google keyboard as the default keyboard. It does everything that I could ever want on a smart watch.
Hiws battery?
@@tjaycrowhurst1022 It's great. It always is at around 65-70% battery at the end of the day and I take it off the charger at around 9:30am and I don't put it back on the charger until around 2:00am the next day. I have the brightness on max and always on display on.
Great video! I absolutely love my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (both the black and silver models). I, personally, love the Analog Premium with the pure black face; I am a watch enthusiast, and I like my smarteatches to resemble classic watches as close as possible. And with the black background, it still allows great battery life. Also, I purchased LDSAF bracelet bands for both of mine, snd they are still very comfortable to wear.
At the time of writing this, this teview is 8 months old. But this is by far the fairest review that I have seen to date; including reviews done more recently. So I subscribed because I figured if you gave a fair review on this, then you're more than likely to do it with everything rlse too. Great video, sir!
Are the bugs mentioned in the video fixed?
I love this watch, but HR monitor keeps disconnecting and not recording for large chunks of my cycle rides. Running is fine….. Samsung wanted it back for repair, but IMO it must be a software issue. Sent off for them to look at and keeping fingers crossed. Lots of other reports of this though.
Great video!!!!
Do you have a video review about your Samsung Flip?
I've seen some with creases at the fold.
Love mine. Was hesitant to get it but now really glad i did. I have the 46mm classic LTE

Great! And does the battery last a day? ( Is not a hate comment I really want to know)
@@enlacemusical2250 Yes, 1 day and a half. 5 years ago it was 2,5 days. But nowadays I mainly use it for working out (timer). I'm not looking to buy another smartwatch anyway...
Does the Galaxy Watch4 accurately depict the actual moon phase on it? That's one thing that always bothered me having the Galaxy Watch was that no matter what phase it is outside, when night comes the watch shows a Waning Crescent by default
baught the watch a few weeks ago, I am blown away by how good of a watch it is. I have never used any smart watch before but I do not notice any bugs, vibration is solid, google assistant is good, just have a bit of trouble getting google camera to work.
I returned my watch 4 because the vibration was too weak and missed too many notifications. I also was not able to use vibrate only for alarm which i need as to not wake up my husband 2 hours before his alarm. It is, way weaker than my watch active 1. I tried the watch 5 too and same dissapointment.
Thank you for this review. I was thinking of buying this as a Christmas gift. All your “nitpicks” are deal breakers for me and I will hold off. I’m shocked at how sloppy the whole experience is for a Samsung device.
I subscribed because of the mkbhd top and the review is great too
Got my watch a month ago. 44mm it's amazing and I don't use always on display but I try it once in awhile for a hour or so. I charge my watch 30min every day and a half when I'm home on UA-cam real quick and I'm good for another day and a half. Never seen my watch below 22% lol
Are u playing music and using LTE on your watch? My battery 🔋 life runs out very quickly even when I'm in power safe mode.
Saw the mkbhd shirt and already knew the content creator and the content gonna be awesome! 🤙🏻
Bixby isn't as bad as I thought tbh - it misrecognises what I say sometimes but it will get better with more users, and it can actually do heaps of detailed accessibility commands. Join me on the dark side (i.e. team Bixby)!
Actually Bixby works very well. It's just the random disconnects that cause trouble. Snoozed events often never come back. The features are great, but it is unreliable.
I like it, mostly for the youtube music offline downloads, I only thing I don't like is the battery is short and needs to be charged often
Was thinking about getting it. Right now I have an active 2. Will wait 🤗
Me too but I'm about to trade it in tho
I think with some refinement on the software side, this could potentially be the best wear os smartwatch.
Agreed!
@@MarkSpurrell BTW , just a question, do you like square of round smartwatch
I prefer round for the way it looks.
I think you forgot the quotation marks :p
I am very happy with my watch 4. I have had it for a few weeks. No problems and it is a nice functional toy. Of course the measurements might not be as good as if one bought a separate device for each value measured but this would not be a replacement for a versatile smart sport watch.
Downsides, not downfalls. A downfall is a complete failure, a downside is a negative. 😊
Does this watch have the ability to flip the face so you can have the buttons facing the arm while wearing it on the left wrist? I find with the buttons facing the top of the hand when I bend my wrist and hand upward the buttons get pushed and find some pretty strange settings.
Ok so I am using the Galaxy watch 4 classic from the last 20 days and so. What ive experience is almost close as yours.
Performance issues! God the UI becomes lagy a lot. And the App opens quite a bit late most of the times.
2nd is the call volume. It's ok if I am talking in a quite indoor enviourment but once you went outdoor you are fucked. You can't even hear the voice even if you bring it close to your ear when you are outdoor in a noisy enviourment.
3rdly always on display yeah it's almost unreadble when you are outdoor.
So what u suggest for a person like me who is trying to buy Samsung watch?
Whocj Samsung watch I must buy?
Also samsung 4 or classic one
@@sadiatahir7375 This is a comment from months ago. There's a good chance that what he is saying is fixed by now. I ordered mine just today, no hesitation even after watching/reading the reviews from two months ago.
@@sadiatahir7375 depends on your preference. If you want a flat profile and lighter watch, go for the non-classic one. If you want to tinker the watch with a physical bezel, go for the classic. I went with the more comfortable one, which is the non-classic. But im not gonna lie, the classic is a piece of beauty! Hello please tell your experience till now with your watch
@@cric_lover8715 I still love it. The only issues experienced so far are the Samsung snore detection between my Samsung Phone and Watch doesn't work after trying everything. Also, it recently did an update and wiped all my history and health stats. When I powered it back on, I was required to reset the watch all over again from scratch which was frustrating. Otherwise, it has been awesome in every other respect. Oh, and another thing to consider is you'll need to charge it daily. I simply put it on the charger whilst showering and this is typically enough to get it through the day. I still consider it the best buy at the moment especially if you have a Samsung Phone.

Do you have to pair the watch to your phone through Bluetooth? Or cell
According to reviews I watched on UA-cam, The Huawei Gt 3, or Watch 3, still seems like a better watch to me, even without google services. There are a lot of hacks to work arooound that. Even to reach Strava. With Battery power of up to 2 WEEKS, I would rather go for that.
Bro does raise to wake work properly on watch 4 44mm??
I've had the Watch 4 Classic for a week and I'm enjoying it. One of the comments from a few months ago talked about WearOS not being able to change orientation for lefties. This must have been a fairly recent update, as I've been able to set wrist and button orientation. I've never had a left-handed watch in my life and finally having this capability feels great.
I didn't think smartwatch ownership entailed charging daily, though. If I knew it was the choice of daily charging or turning off all of the cool functions I originally bought the watch for, maybe I would have waited a few more product lifecycles.
Still, though, cool product and I now have a digital watch version with a face replicating the Gulf Racing TAG Heuer, a watch that was stolen from me a few years back that is now too expensive for me to replace
