Did a gearbox on an ambulance and accidentally moved the steering wheel when i replaced it. Needless to say when I went to bleed the power steering, the clockspring popped. Always put the seatbelt through the steering wheel when you do a gearbox!
Could a leak in the roof near windshield on drivers side be a cause for the clock spring to go bad?? Notice it dripping after a rain storm dripped right on that area. I just bought this van realized the horn isn’t working thinking could be this. 09 e350
I briefly reviewed the video to refresh my memory of this job. No, I did not remove the key mechanism. Read through the comments, and you'll see others have had success following this video. My only "change" I would edit is a better steering wheel puller instead of the hammer I used. Best of luck!
Pro tip: put the bolt for the steering wheel back in loosely before you smack off the wheel so it doesn't fly into your face.
You said to remove negative battery cable. Sooo why did the flashers start working
