Please do a retake on Paheli. It was one of the bravest and nicest films SRK had done and produced and only he could have pulled off such a character. And this movie can also be a guide to a man on how to respect women's choice and consent . SRK is a Super star but he is such an underrated actor and even more under rated Producer. The films he produced were always different amd risky,be it Phir bhi dil hai hindustani which was way ahead of its time, Asoka,Paheli ,Ra. one,Fan and Zero. I hope he never ever gets dissapointed by the box office and keeps making beautiful films. Eagerly waiting for his next ❤️
Was literally thinking about Paheli the other day. It is one of SRK's finest performances where he has showcased a good range. Sadly like his other strong performance-oriented films Paheli too has fallen by the wayside. Would be super interesting to bring it back to people's minds with an FC Retake.
I love that this movie is being talked about on a deeper level. I have always seen this movie through this psychological lens that Anushkas character is going through. I honestly think that if we just put ourselves in Taani's shoes we really see that she doesn't recognize her husband. Not because of this corny mustache/hair thing but truly doesn't recognize him because she hardly even looks at him. She doesn't wake up next to him gazing his face and KNOWING what her husband looks but rather goes about her day not noticing him. She is obviously going through trauma and being married to this stranger who btw she doesn't make eye contact with him for the first half of movie that much makes it sooo believable that she doesn't recognize him as Raj. Great discussion. As for movie DOSTANA please or Sawariya.
These are close to my thoughts! I like the way you expressed the point. Taani is married to a man she basically doesn't know and doesn't look at. They sleep on different levels of the house. Moreover, as Raj, Suri doesn't simply alter his hair and clothing, but his voice, his word choices, the way he carries himself, etc. This happened to be the first SRK film I ever watched and so, like the Taani character, I had no preconceived notions when I was introduced to Suri. I had to remind myself that Suri and Raj were the same actor. Now that I've seen virtually ALL of SRK's films, Suri and Raj look more alike to me. I imagine that most of the film's audience brought their extreme familiarity with SRK to the theater with them. RNBDJ might not be perfect ,but it remains one of my favorite films of all time!
everyone who calls rahul a hater or accuses him of being too harsh on every film just simply hasnt read enough of his work or heard the way he talks about the films that he loves. he has such genuine love and passion for cinema of the 2000s and i can listen to him talk about it (or read his writings on it) forever 💕 lots of love to you rahul!! i hope you write a book someday (i'll be first in line to get a copy)!!
I'm on same page as Rahul....I do watch the film often whenever it comes on telly and it's just a easy breezy watch.... really starting to grow on me...love the song Tujhme Rab dikhta hai... especially the beautiful lyrics ❤️
These re-take sessions are living proof that movie viewing is such a subjective experience and beauty indeed lies in the eyes of the beholder (in the case, the reviewer/critic). What you disliked and did not buy into a few years earlier, suddenly feels heartfelt and sweet when viewed several years later. Which is why I think critiquing a movie right after it’s release is so unfair for filmmakers as the subjective view of the reviewer which can be influenced by the mood, the situation, the life stage etc of the reviewer ends up impacting how many people end up going to the theatre to watch a movie. We should make our own decisions based on the trailer and not based on the subjective opinions of a few critics.
Dude the basic logic was missing. Such a big loophole in the entire plot of the film. Will you not recognize a family member one fine day if he shaves ... bullshit ... before being "cute" and "funny" the film should make basic sense... how r u even an adult lol
didn't like? Dude it wasn't a hit, not even a super hit. It was a blockbuster. Budget 22 crores, raked in 187 crores in 2008. Nowadays, you only get a blockbuster once in 3 years or so. Sure many people had issues with it, but overall it was one of the biggest hits of not just a year, but the decade.
Wait was Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi not liked by some people? It's one of my mom's favorite film. I was a kid back then but when I watch it as an adult it was very entertaining! I wish films were equally entertaining now...
The scene where Taani tells 'Raj' she changes her mind and will not run away with him, Shahrukhs expressions are so pure and true to his character. The moment she leaves and he can express how he really feels, you can feel relief and a burden lifted. This made me so emotional as he cant quite believe she wants to stay 😭
I love this series. Just to go down memory lane to discuss a movie with a whole new perspective. To cherish certain gems which during their release were kind of misunderstood or somewhat underappreciated. Also I really like that you mention both the positive and negative aspects of the movies.
love this movie, i guess here in morocco everyone fan of it, specially that srk on it he is our meaning of bollywood here , everyone know and loves him
I have watched it don't know how many times I never get bored off not even once never. It's a master class topped with SRK super duper class act... He is the true King. Actor of par no one can match... Moustache is just for reference
This movie also feature the best self reflecting scene in any cinema that I have seen. Mostly when a self reflecting scene happens, it's basically main character talking infront of a mirror or talking to another character about themselves in 3rd person. But in this movie, when Suri (or in this scene Raj) is drunk, he began a conversation with the mannequin which has Suri's office outfit and moustache on. That is heartbreaking to witness that he is criticising Suri(mannequin) for his looks and manners and that Tanni is not happy with Suri, even said that Raj will steal the girl in the end, later realising if that happens he loses Tanni ji anyway then, as Tanni ji doesn't love him; she loves an personified image of him.
My first observation from this film was that Raj and Suri from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi are really a metaphor for Shah Rukh Khan’s commercial ventures compared with his more artistic ones, basically pointing out how while Raj represents the strictly commercial ventures that Shah Rukh Khan has done, it’s ultimately the more meaningful films like Chak De India and Swades, represented by Suri that get remembered, similar to how Taani eventually picks Suri over Raj. However, I think the relationship between Raj and Suri is deeper than that. As Rahul mentioned, right at the middle point of the film before the interval, there is one of my favourite acting performances I’ve seen on film where Raj has a monologue with Suri about how he is slowly taking Taani away from him. Really, Raj and Suri are two sides of the same coin. It doesn’t matter whether Taaani loves Raj or Suri because in the end, they’re the same person. It’s a strange love triangle that really exists just to contrast the two characters Shah Rukh Khan plays. Both love Taani exactly the same but while Raj can make fairy tale-like grand gestures to show his love, Suri can’t even place a flower on the table. In the beginning of the film, Taani tells Suri that even though she’s his wife, she won’t be able to love him because all the doors to love in her life are closed. Suri confides to Bobby that Taani "wants to change herself." But Suri has come to love Taani just as she is. Instead, Suri changes himself so Taani doesn't have to. Raj serves as the key to the door to love in Taani’s life and while Taani doesn’t love Raj, he is the person that eventually opens the door to her heart to find love. Taani tells Raj once that what a girl really wants is someone that loves her limitlessly and unrequitedly and while Suri does those things, it takes Raj to make her realise this. The film was marketed as ‘every ordinary couple has an extraordinary love story’ and while I highly doubt ordinary couples create complex alter egos to win the love of their loved ones, there are thousands of Suri’s across the country in seemingly ordinary marriages that love their spouse just as much as any Raj or Rahul from films. In a way, the story of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is about the relationship between a viewer and a film. The premise of the character of Raj is based on how Suri only really saw Taani enjoying herself watching films and this was the only time that he could spend with her without feeling awkward about it. While they ate dinner, they sat far apart from each other on opposite sides of the table but for the three hours that they sat in the theatre, they sat together. Whether it’s an action movie or a family drama, it was sitting next to each other in a dark theatre that the real relationship between Suri and Taani developed. When Taani comes to his workplace to apologise for scolding him, he doesn’t dramatically declare his love for her, he just asks her if she wants to go watch the new movie in theatres. When Taani makes the impulsive decision of deciding to leave Suri for Raj, she actually walks out of the theatre leaving Suri alone inside. The cinema hall is the motif of Suri’s and Taani’s love. Even the reason Raj is a face level parody of cliche hindi film heroes is because it is these heroes that Suri sees Taani enjoys watching on screen. In the life of an ordinary Indian housewife, it’s three hours of escapism that represent the real joy of life. It’s no coincidence that Raj is named after Aditya Chopra’s debut film’s lead, Raj Malhotra of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. In a way, this film is him taking responsibility for introducing this character to film, the character that can be seen as the primary inspiration for so many other characters since. The story of Rab Ne too, in a way, is an apology for setting unrealistic standards for love, especially when love isn’t just fighting ten people off to protect the girl you like. By putting the one dimensional Raj around real characters like Taani in the real city of Amritsar, his “romance” is visible to be nothing more than unsuccessful flirting and borderline harassment. Then, as the film progresses, Raj emotionally matures too until the end when he becomes both literally and figuratively Suri. While at first it may seem unrealistic at first why Taani chose Suri suddenly at the golden temple, ultimately isn't that how love works? It just clicks sometimes when you least expect it but at the exact right time. I can see why people might think what Suri did was in some way manipulative and at a level compelling his wife to chest on him but he didn't really want that, he just wanted to see her happy and realised that if she lived with his boring self, she would lose this happiness. He never intended to run away with her as Raj, this was just the only way he knew to form a connection with her. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is obviously my favourite movie and I'm so happy you did this video and I have so much more to talk about it but my fingers hurt and I doubt anyone's reading. Cheers!
Bro with due respect to your writing itna deep kuch nahi hai 😀 itna deep kuch hota hai to aaj Aditya Chopra Vishal Bharadwaj,Dibakar Banerjee aur Shoojit Sircar ke league ka maker hota remember he made Befikre too 😀 It's just a copy of Original Golmaal thats it but seriously a great write up by u 🙏
@@rahultiwari-dx8qo thanks you but I disagree. Aditya Chopra may be more commerical than Kasyap or Sircar or Bharadwaj but you can't deny he's a talented director, which I guess is in his blood. You don't end up making your debut one of the greatest love stories of all time by mistake and every film he's done since has in some way carried that legacy forward, even my least favorite, Mohabattein. Befikre I originally didn't like but upon rewatching and putting aside my hatred for Vaani Kapoor, actually came to appreciate. It's Aditya Chopra at his directorally best even if the story isn't half as good as his better works and the cinematography and camera movement more than makes up for it.
Please do a retake on Agent Vinod! I think it is a gem of a movie that went underappreciated. I really think it is one of the best works of Sriram Raghavan and also one of the best espionage movies from India. There are so many aspects to it which can be considered unusual but that makes it even more beautiful. I had read a comment on a video by Akash Srivastava discussing about the movie which I completely resonated with. I'm copy pasting some of what he had written to convince you guys: First and foremost, you have to understand Sriram Raghavan, and his body of work, to fully figure out the theme he's going for. He's known for themes where he references 60's Bollywood movies (Vijay Anand and others), the bomb under the table technique by Hitchcock (where the audience know the secret but the characters don't), and biblical justice. This entire film is filled with numerous references to 60's Hindi movies, including the title itself. Second, this is the best we can think of a James Bond equivalent in Indian terms. Bond movies are supposed to be cheesy and spectacle/set piece based. Agent Vinod still has a really good plot, except maybe the final few bits. Third, it employs another 80's/90's technique which was mostly seen in Rajeev Rai's movies (Tridev/Vishwatma/Mohra/Gupt), which is a large assembly of villains. Characters of Adil Hussain, Prem Chopra, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Shahbaz Khan, Lalit Parimoo, and finally Dhritiman Chaterji are all unique and formidable villains. It's very referential and in some ways also pays tribute to the pulp action movie/novels of the '80s. Finally, it also pays tribute to Raghavan's own history. He used to write for TV earlier, specifically for CID. In the end, it also tried to subvert the traditional action villain genre a little. There is a small line by Gulshan Grover, who plays this big shot Pakistani terrorist/smuggler who when gets the answer of what is the consignment as 'the usual, RDX' or something, retorts "Bore nahi hote tum log?". To me, that's just smart. Hope you watch it and review it. Really looking forward for both your takes on it!
I think Pankaj Kapoor's 'Mausam' is a beautiful underrated film. There was the history of India through the lens of a couple's lovestory. From Kashmir to 911 to Gujrat with some beautiful scenes n great music.
My Name is Khan, is a film Anupama wasn't entirely convinced by and Rahul didn't quite reference it when talking about the transition of Shahrukh's choices from the mid 2000s.
True.. i was late to watch it and when i did - i actually enjoyed it. I keep watching it sometimes. Its a nice easy breezy movie, not meant to be a big blockbuster i guess.
Finally, a retake after so long! I would love if you people can discuss black, which was hailed a masterpiece then but today some people think differently, even though it’s my favourite Bollywood film ever. Also please try kabhi alvida na kehna which was again received mixed then but the take on complexities in relationships and feminism is very relevant today.
I love this idea of viewing these films from a different lense. Such an amazing idea. Love these retakes. The most innovative film review/interview channel on UA-cam. And such an amazing point by Anupama, 5 years from now very few people will remember the old refrences.
On one hand you question the absence of larger than life love in today's films and then question her character for seeing Rab in her partner on the other.
Mujhe toh inn dono ko sunn ke hi mza gya. So good to see them, in one frame. Come to think of it, I have not even seen this movie (yet). Side note, nice shoot location. Thank you for such conversations. Big fan ♥️🙏
People always underestimate this movie, every movie is embedded in the time period in which it released, though it was purely accidental, it was released just days after 26/11, country was going hell and this flick tried to mitigate that pain and put a smile on people's face, and just 3 weeks later tsunami of ghajini arrived and rest is history.
Anushka was genuinely good in this movie. I remember thinking back then that of the new heroine launches, Deepika is beautiful but Anushka has the acting skills
Such a great episode. Rab ne is an all time favourite film. The film grows on you like Surender sani. It's not love at first sight(viewing) but the honesty and innocence sweeps you off your feet. Film companion is hands down the best film channel there is.
The movie is an all time blockbuster hit. The audiences bought into it completely even though Anupama may not have, back then. I loved it. Shahrukh was amazing as always. People loved Suri ji. I was quite fascinated by how Shah Rukh played Raj. He may be playing a romantic leading man no matter a zillionth time, he has such vision and range as an actor that he can still do it with a difference and in a way that the character stays with you. I thoroughly enjoyed Raj ... much more than Suri ji actually. 😃 Next movie - Dil Se or My Name is Khan. It's high time Anupama converts as far as these two masterpieces are concerned.
Thank you guys for the in-depth discussion... I keep saying to my fellow Rom com friends Bollywood or Hollywood... there aren’t decent love stories being made any more ... For me this was the last and I truly feel mr Srk will B able to do justice to an older love story 1 day 🤞🏾🤞🏾 No pressure 😂
I don't think Suri was trying to be all those Bollywood actors, he was trying to be Bobby all this time. He created the new persona keeping Bobby in his mind because he thought he was cool.
This movie just gave the big canvass for many Indian men love stories which is true. This is the movie which can be seen with no reason and you will be happy. 🌺
So happy they chose this movie. As a Cinephile and SRK fan, I loved it it back then for all it’s Bollywood-ish charm. And just like Rahul I love it now in a totally different sense that captures the innocence of adulthood. The movie is just too good at portraying the love in little things and nonchalant moments.
How I see why taani doesn’t recognize suri as raj becoz she never looked at him the way you look at someone you love or u know. For her suri was like that baggage she has to carry her whole life so it doesn’t. Matter how u carry that baggage whether u put it on ur head. Or just keep kicking it to keep moving Forward together with it
What about Dil Se for your next retake?? I've been mesmerized by that film ever since I saw it, even though Shah Rukh's character is so very problematic. The movie has a weirdly intoxicating effect that it is difficult to put into words.
Dil Se makes you see the charisma that is Shahrukh. His charm oozes out of every frame, especially in the songs. Makes you understand why the camera loves him. Not to speak of the people.
i don't know if it was in the credit, but this movie was based on a book written by a bengali writer. i don't remember the name of the book or the writer, but i read the book way before this film. in that book, a girl was forced to marry her brothers friend because her marriage broke on the wedding day. they didn't get along and she started doing theater. then her husband also joined the theater with his beard cut and the two fall in love.
I highly agree with Rahul on every note about the film. while growing up it was my favorite film and its still is one of my favorites but people pointing out loopholes really made me love the film even more. Either its Raj intro scene or the last scene in temple, it perfectly fits the fictional world of RNBJ. btw Thanks for the video.
Dude. i do no now why you guys explaining. this film is masterpiece. it is all about to satisfy grieving girl and show her love and life. so she can move on and feel her next life as wife and mother of a new family.
A retake of Jab Tak Hai Jaan would be great. I was so underwhelmed when I watched it when it came out and while I still don't love the movie(the chemistry between Srk and Kat leaves me cold), I have come to appreciate it's attempts at being an operatic love story spanning many years, which I think the film is kind of successful at.
Kids who're saying stuff like, "I don't know why ppl didn't like it, why it didn't work". Dude it wasn't just a 'hit', not even a 'super hit'. It was a 'blockbuster'. Budget 22 crores, raked in 187 crores in 2008. Nowadays, you only get a blockbuster once in 3 years or so. Sure, many people had issues with it, but overall it was one of the biggest hits of not just a year, but the decade.
Can we please get a retake on bhavesh joshi? That movie is the true definition of underrated and it did not get its due for the film it was. An absolutely absolutely fascinating watch. It has got to be on the retake. One of the best screenplays for a superhero movie ever.
i really like this film because of these reasons - asthetic ,simplicity ,srk innocence charm ,music ..feel for hrishikesh mukherjee cinema a bit ,less characters ,crisp screenplay ,music
Dhoom 2. I loved the movie and have watched it like 50 times. But now it's a bit cringe and also why would abishek pardon Hritik at the end. Now it seems very illogical. Love to hear you guys thought on it. P.s. I'm not a hater. But like Rahul said lots of movies we loved earlier does not held up in today's time.
Please do Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. It has its flaws with the length and unnecessary songs and melodrama, but the story and the characterisation is bang on. Not to mention amazing acting by all actors.
FC there’s history of B grade cineflicks since ages in Hindi cinema - right from Shekh Mukhtar, Dev Kumar, Dara Singh to Ramsay’s horror flicks to Mithun’s Gunda, Jallad, to Dada Kondke’s movies. Whatever we may call them, they are part Hindi movies history - any chance on series on them. I would surely love...

I will be in that line in front of you.
To Read Rahul Desai's Book about Cinema or even Fiction
Hi Rahul Desai
Well that proves he's super biased and doesn't even have consistency and integrity in his views 🤡😂😂
I'm on same page as Rahul....I do watch the film often whenever it comes on telly and it's just a easy breezy watch.... really starting to grow on me...love the song Tujhme Rab dikhta hai... especially the beautiful lyrics ❤️

I’m so happy that Rahul and I were the OG Fans of ‘Rab Ne BANA Di Jodi’.
Hey me🙋♂️❣
Surinder calling out Toxic Masculinity in the movie was brilliant.
PLS do Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. One of the most misunderstood and underappreciated films of the 21st century
Yes!!
Idk why people didn’t like the film. I thought it was fun and cute. Anushka did a fab job.

Very in depth analysis of the movie. I remember watching this movie during it's release and was blown away. None of my friends liked it.
This is such a great perspective on this film! Thank you so much for sharing this :)
@@hindolhazra thank you for reading! In retrospect it is really long lol
My suggestion is to revisit ‘Aiyyaa’ and ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’
next retake should be " Veer Zaraa "
Absolutely love FC retake . Rab ne Bana Di Jodi was our college end sem movie 😂
Absolutely fav ♥️
Can the next film be Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna?
My Name is Khan, is a film Anupama wasn't entirely convinced by and Rahul didn't quite reference it when talking about the transition of Shahrukh's choices from the mid 2000s.
You really should do Jab Harry Met Sejal. I've grown to love the movie tbh
It's one of my favourite films of all time and also one of my favourites from srk. So glad people started to love this movie.
True.. i was late to watch it and when i did - i actually enjoyed it. I keep watching it sometimes. Its a nice easy breezy movie, not meant to be a big blockbuster i guess.
@@radhikarb7047 yes exactly
Imtiaz Alis movie always grows on you, i love Tamasha every time i watch it.
Only me and Anapuma Chopra liked and a few more people liked too "Befikre" . An FC retake would be lovely to see .
I loved befikre. It was non stop entertainment don’t know why ppl dismissed it lol
Rahul, you speak my heart. Love to hear you! Love these re-take sessions, so damn wholesome.
Next 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' please!!!
I loved Rahul’s analysis. Loved it 👏🏽
This is such a nice video .
The movie has grown on me.
Missed the FC retake!!!! Really Love it
For a minute, I thought this was the name of Anupama's matchmaking agency that she'd set up post how thunderously well she pulled off #Vicktrina.
This series should be called 'Revisiting Rahul's Favourites'
Ok so finally the day Rahul has been waiting so long.....it's RNBDJ
Loved the episode ❤
"Tujh Mein" has more UA-cam views than any other film song. 963 million views !!
I love this idea of viewing these films from a different lense. Such an amazing idea. Love these retakes. The most innovative film review/interview channel on UA-cam.
And such an amazing point by Anupama, 5 years from now very few people will remember the old refrences.
I am a Rab ne og fan. What a sweet heartwarming film.
Koi kuch bhi kahe... it is one of my favorite movie alongside Veer-zaara...
Please talk on my name is Khan, don 2, raone, fan, Asoka and phir bhi Dil h Hindustani in your series
On one hand you question the absence of larger than life love in today's films and then question her character for seeing Rab in her partner on the other.
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna!
Mujhe toh inn dono ko sunn ke hi mza gya. So good to see them, in one frame. Come to think of it, I have not even seen this movie (yet). Side note, nice shoot location. Thank you for such conversations. Big fan ♥️🙏
I loved this episode so much. As an OG fan of RNBDJ, It's nice to see people look at it through the same lens I did 13 years ago
Hello Film Companion,
Please do Aisha next. I think it really grew on all of us and is kind of a classic.
I loved the film watched 5 times back in 2008 and yes opening of film was soothing..
Raincoat by Rituparno ghosh with has Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya rai
Rab ne bna Di Jodi is a comfort zone whenever u r feeling down ..just start watching it ...it will cheer u up
People always underestimate this movie, every movie is embedded in the time period in which it released, though it was purely accidental, it was released just days after 26/11, country was going hell and this flick tried to mitigate that pain and put a smile on people's face, and just 3 weeks later tsunami of ghajini arrived and rest is history.
Please I NEED ANOTHER RETAKE! This is so good ya!!!
Great movie to pick ... nostalgic 2008
"Break ke baad" and "Ek main aur ek tu" deserve retakes too.
Anushka was genuinely good in this movie. I remember thinking back then that of the new heroine launches, Deepika is beautiful but Anushka has the acting skills
If the movie was as deep as the conversation, carefully taking out the problem parts, we all would have seen it in the right manner.
Next movie - Dil Se or My Name is Khan. It's high time Anupama converts as far as these two masterpieces are concerned.
10:39 Anupama Ji really underestimating Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Retro never dies.
Thank you guys for the in-depth discussion... I keep saying to my fellow Rom com friends Bollywood or Hollywood... there aren’t decent love stories being made any more ...
For me this was the last and I truly feel mr Srk will B able to do justice to an older love story 1 day 🤞🏾🤞🏾
No pressure 😂
I think many movies with SRK deserve a retake: Swades, Paheli or Asoka
I don't think Suri was trying to be all those Bollywood actors, he was trying to be Bobby all this time. He created the new persona keeping Bobby in his mind because he thought he was cool.
How about retaking to Anupama’s famous Befikre review? Am curious if her opinion changed over the years.
This movie just gave the big canvass for many Indian men love stories which is true. This is the movie which can be seen with no reason and you will be happy. 🌺
The film i go back to every year which is also my most favourite hindi film is Patiala House. Please do a retake on Patiala House as well.
Probably one of his best movies but the ending is so abrupt that it baffles me. Didn’t like that part at all.
i don't know if it was in the credit, but this movie was based on a book written by a bengali writer. i don't remember the name of the book or the writer, but i read the book way before this film. in that book, a girl was forced to marry her brothers friend because her marriage broke on the wedding day. they didn't get along and she started doing theater. then her husband also joined the theater with his beard cut and the two fall in love.
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna….all 4 characters are trapped in their own circumstances…would be good to revisit it after 15 years 🙏🏼
You guys make my day everytime i watch FC RETAKE.
Worst yash chopra movie
That final dance sequence was such fun.
Oh my god this feels like this has been so awaited
Kids who're saying stuff like, "I don't know why ppl didn't like it, why it didn't work". Dude it wasn't just a 'hit', not even a 'super hit'. It was a 'blockbuster'. Budget 22 crores, raked in 187 crores in 2008. Nowadays, you only get a blockbuster once in 3 years or so. Sure, many people had issues with it, but overall it was one of the biggest hits of not just a year, but the decade.
Now expecting A Fc retake or ReEvaluation of SRK's yeh Lamhe judai ke 😜
Rahul is making me revisit this film now
Can we please get a retake on bhavesh joshi? That movie is the true definition of underrated and it did not get its due for the film it was. An absolutely absolutely fascinating watch. It has got to be on the retake. One of the best screenplays for a superhero movie ever.
Thank you for retaking one of my favorite movies
Baddy (Bharadwaj Rangan) did an amazing review of his defence of Zero. It changed my perception of the film forever. Worth a try
Fun Fact: This movie was supposed to star Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala. I’m so curious to see how that would’ve worked out.
Ok i have to see the movie again now. I remember hating it when it Released. Almost nothing worked for me.
I had a biggg smile all along..love retakes with these 2
1:33 same as how Lois Lane not going to recognise Superman when he puts on his glasses :) It's the same as what Rahul Desai also felt at 6:25.
i really like this film because of these reasons - asthetic ,simplicity ,srk innocence charm ,music ..feel for hrishikesh mukherjee cinema a bit ,less characters ,crisp screenplay ,music
Kabhi alvida na kehna, please review. Also don2 and bunty aur bubbly (original).
I think a lot of us will definitely love this movie in 2021 and in 2050 as well ❤️
Please do it for SAAWARIYA...a visual & musical treat... for me atleast.. I felt as if I am in an opera.
Oh wow. Another retake. I thought you guys won't do this again. I have watched them all. Also do let's talk movies to
U guys made me rewatch this sweet movie ❤️
Please do Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. It has its flaws with the length and unnecessary songs and melodrama, but the story and the characterisation is bang on. Not to mention amazing acting by all actors.
Could you do an episode on Saawariya/Zero/Jab Harry Met Sejal? Would be really interesting to see what your perspective is on any of these movies.
Please do a retake of the movie Break ke baad! It's a hidden gem of rom coms
You guys should do Veer Zaara next. I miss these discussions. I recently watched it and realized they don’t make ‘em like like him anymore
