  • Hey guys!
I have great news to share with you all in this video!!
Discover a world of opportunities in Canada as an aspiring engineer! In this video, I have discussed PEO's newly enhanced license application process, tailored to make it easier for newcomers to pursue their engineering dreams in Canada. Join me as I walk you through the simplified steps and requirements designed to support your journey. Explore the pathways to success and gain valuable insights into starting your engineering career in Canada. Don't miss out on this valuable resource for newcomers. Watch now and take the first step towards building your future as an engineer in Canada with PEO.
    Good Luck!
A summary of the changes to PEO's license application process:
Am I Ready to Apply?' Survey: The process begins with candidates filling out a brief questionnaire to determine if they are ready to apply for a license. Qualified candidates will then receive an application to formally begin the new license application process, while those who don't qualify will be informed of next steps.
    professionalen...
Application Eligibility: Prospective applicants must demonstrate the required academic and experience qualifications before applying.
Academic Requirements: The academic requirement to apply for a P.Eng. license is a bachelor's degree in an engineering program accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) or a bachelor's degree that meets PEO's acceptance criteria, along with successful completion of a confirmatory examination program.
    • HOW TO GET ENGINEERING...
Experience Requirements: Candidates applying for a P.Eng. license must demonstrate completion of 48 months of experience that meets the requirements for engaging in the practice of professional engineering. This will be assessed through a competency-based assessment (CBA) that evaluates engineering competencies across various categories.
Registration Decision Timeline: The new application process ensures that applicants will receive a registration decision within six months of submitting a completed license application. At least 90% of completed applications will be processed within this timeframe.
Regarding current applicants and the Engineering Intern (EIT) program:
Current applicants who applied prior to May 15, 2023, will generally follow the application process in place at the time they applied. However, they will also be required to complete a CBA experience assessment form, unless their experience has already been assessed.
The EIT program will no longer be offered to new applicants as of May 15, 2023. Current EITs may remain in the program as long as they continue their current licensing process. PEO will explore alternative options for prospective applicants seeking to gain experience.

In Canada, engineers are regulated by province. Each province has its own regulating body. For example, PEO (Ontario); APEGA (Alberta); APEGS (Saskatchewan); and APEGNB (New Brunswick). If you are foreign educated engineer, when applying for Professional Engineer license, the provincial governing body may perform an individual assessment of your undergraduate education because it is not CEAB accredited. CEAB = Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.

Amerta, it is not more fair for all applicants. Unaccredited programs including four year bachelors programs are barred if they are from Canada. There are people who have lost their legitimate path to the profession. A path that has been there for nearly 70 years through no fault of their own.

But my courses are getting evaluated through WES. I Couldnt understand why they are evaluating and also asking me to write technical exam. Also I have a masters degree in Canada. PLease let me know whether I should write those technical Exam. Thank you in advance.

    • @AmertaRoopani
      @AmertaRoopani  Рік тому +1

      Hello,
Regarding the request for details on technical exams, it may be because your undergraduate university is non-CEAB accredited. However, since you mentioned that your courses are being evaluated through WES and you also have a master's degree from Canada, it's possible that you may not need to write the technical exams.
I would recommend you to write a letter to PEO explaining your situation and requesting exemption from the technical exams based on your WES evaluation and Canadian master's degree. Don’t forget to provide all the supporting documents such as transcripts, WES evaluation reports, and copies of your master's degree to provide evidence of your qualifications.
You can also highlight how your qualifications align with the P.Eng. license requirements and explain why you believe technical exams may not be necessary.
PEO will review your request and provide guidance accordingly.
      Good luck!

      Hello,
Thank you for your kind words and I am glad that you found it helpful. 🙏🏻
Here is the "Am I Ready to Apply?" survey that can help your brother determine if he is ready to apply for a P.Eng. license:
      professionalengineersontario.wufoo.com/forms/mskgqfd06kgz6b/
This simple questionnaire is designed to assess his eligibility based on his specific situation. By completing the survey, he can find out if he meets the current requirements to apply for a P.Eng. license.
      Good Luck!

He can apply to PEO as EIT (Engineer-in-Training). PEO may conduct an individual assessment of his non-CEAB accredited education.

Hi amreta, I do have a four years of bachelors degree and four years of international experience in civil engineering field. I do become eligible to apply for peng. But what should I enter in my institution name? Name of my college or name of the university? Currently I am in canada and pursuing masters degree. Any advise from your side will be of great help. And your videos are amazing and knowledgeable. Thank you so much

      Answer to your question:
I would have mentioned all the degrees in my application because each certificate/degree adds value to the application.
      Good Luck!

No master degrees are CEAB accredited. When applying for Professional Engineer license, the provincial governing body may conduct an individual assessment of your non-CEAB accredited undergrad education.
