I am speechless . Your story is so similar to my own. It took me 2 months to land my first job here in Toronto. The scariest part was no getting calls at first and then having a real business conversation in your second language. Only after 10 interviews of practice I started to understand the gist of how you are selling yourself… and the moment when I called my parents home to say that I made it, that will be always a spark of proudness in my mind. Thanks for these videos!

Hi! We've answered a similar question in this video "What everyone wants to know about Canada" ua-cam.com/video/CivUqmiE-N0/v-deo.htmlsi=PcIk0a_JBQD3JviS
In short, I'd suggest you talk to an immigration lawyer or do your own research on Canada.ca to see if you can collect enough CRS score for any type of permanent residence visa taking into consideration different scenarios like you getting a job in Canada or studying here.

Engineering is the EASIEST field for newcomers to get a job in, this is a misleading video. Not to mention she work sin gas and oil which is one of Canada's top natural resources and natural resources is what we specialize in. I don't doubt the authenticity of this story, however, I would suggest watching videos from non STEM grads for their experience because it will be vastly different. Keep in mind, she is a young, attractive female and Canada has a lot of agism and we have strict DEI guidelines that most companies follow. Talk to a Canadian born citizen who doesn't have a STEM background and you will get the harsh truth of the job market here.

If you’re not in an in-demand profession, we do not recommend moving to Canada. We also do not recommend juniors to move to Canada, employers don’t want to spend time on training, they want people to be productive from day one.

Great video. Thank you. But I still have questions.
It is hard to understand how Canadian recruiters' brains work. Many people say they run your resumes through the software to highlight better candidates for the role. Must be an old-style approach to check applicant's resumes without this handy software. What the hardest for me to realize is how a candidate tracks their own "fancy" achievements in percentages and so precisely - do they run a meter every morning when they clock in and clock out their work? Or do they just simply fabricate those numbers to stand out compared to other candidates? In my point of view, no one in the company shares the company's data with employees and employee's performance in the position. So just assuming that they draw numbers, like: "OK how much I made the sales to raise - 120%? Nouuu... Let's say 180%. Good job! That is done. Now, what's next... Amount of clients. Let's say due to my brilliant work doubled.... hmmm... no tripled! Great!!!"
Could you explain this moment in one of your videos, please? I am eager to hear that, probably as millions of other immigrants in Canada. Thank you.

Yes you can start applying before you're in Canada. If you know you will be in Canada in a couple of weeks, you don't even need to specify it in your resume. It can be explained if you're contacted by an employer. But you better have a Canadian phone number to be available for the first interview.

Is there something similar to SOPA but for those who have already settled in Canada?

    • @MakeThatChange
      @MakeThatChange  10 місяців тому

If I'm not mistaken SOPA works for those who have been in Canada for less than 3 years. Try researching other newcomer centers/pre-arrival services on Canada.ca and connect with them if you have specific questions. Maybe they can make an exception, depending on your request. And don't forget about YMCA.

Hi Hope you are doing great.
listen to your whole story it sounds scary that horrible it could be the whole job hunting process.

Hi, what positions do you apply to? Psychology field is regulated in Canada and if you don't have a licence and local experience or internship, no one will consider you.
Try networking with people working in your field and ask them what does it take to work in your occupation in Canada. Do a research about job and licence requirements. Best of luck!

however, I have 1 year of experience in the clinical sector along with internships.
Yea! i am trying to connect with people but all in vain.
i am wondering whether this field has much scope in Canada or not.
      Thanks.

I also don’t know the cost of living in Canada. I’m a bricklayer/construction worker. Please I hope to hear back from you.
