It has been > 50 years since they broke up yet they are the only band that is in that particular orbit, standing alone, unmatched. Their song writing was and still is truly unbelievable, so advanced, accompanied by no other.

To an extent he was underrated because lack of technology (EQ, pedals(specifically wet effects and stuff) changing tubes in amps(or Kempers) , customizing pickups.. Etc, are all things they didn't have so I'm Sure if modern day guitarists took away our privileges then George would whoop us in guitar battles) But in some aspects also overrated because he didn't compare to people like SRV or Hendrix or Clapton etc etc

I get the feeling that if the Beatles could have played the music that they wanted to and escape the popularity that they would have sounded like this. It just sounds like they're all really into it as compared to when they play one of their songs that got fans screaming.
There's been debate about this song. I firmly believe it is John's voice double-tracked that sings ALL of the lead vocal, and NOT Paul's voice tracked an octave higher on "mother superior jump the gun" as some Beatles fans have stated. Paul and George did the "doo wap" backing vocals. In any case this song is a delight for many reason, but especially for John's "gu-u-un" at the end of the song!! These lyrics bring comfort to the man who is at a loss and sees no light at the end of the tunnel, and terror to those who understand that what seems to be a way out, not only harms that person's chance of finding that corner in the dark and turning on it to see there is light/hope, but it draws in their loved ones down into that abyss(acknowledging their issues) where if only they were alive, they would have found a way to support each other and make the abyss more bearable for the other until they find that corner for the one who needs it.
