I've made that shawl with finger weight yarn too. It is do beautiful. I love the colorway you have yours in. I would have never thought about doing it in 4 weight. Now you have me intrigued.
Hi! Yeah, when it comes to shawls and wraps I pay zero attention to yarn called for, etc. because I know I can just stop whenever I want and it came out wonderfully! My girlfriend's son normally nabs the shawl I made her to wrap up in on the couch. They report that it is super cozy so totally different feel from my fingering weight one. P.S.The FB link is fixed now in case you want to join in that way. 😀
Wonderful! We will get through it together and I'm sure you will love it when we get to the end! P.S. The FB link is fixed now in case you want to join in that way.
That is so pretty! I'll have to look through my yarn and pick one. By the way, got the nails yesterday and my daughter is supposed to come see me tomorrow.
For sure, come and play along. It'll be a nice distraction in tough times! I sent you an email this morning checking in on the nails to make sure they showed up so you can just ignore that, lol. I hope you have fun with them! P.S. The FB link is fixed now in case you want to join in that way.
I just watched your video from 9 months ago about this shawl. It is so pretty. I will make the bulk of it after Christmas... but excited to join in on this. Thanks Monique! ❤
Yes, I have heard the same thing from several people and I think it's just learning styles. I can watch someone do something a dozen times and not get it and then see someone else do it and it clicks. I'm sure we will all be able to support each other and help each other get past those little moments where we are just confused by "What the heck am I supposed to be doing?" P.S. The FB link is fixed now in case you want to join in that way.
I would love to make this! I will go join the Facebook group! Thanks for sharing! I tried clicking on the Facebook group and it didn't work. I tried going to Facebook and typing in the group name and couldn't find ya. Please help! LoL! Nevermind! I found it!
I appreciate your very kind comment and I do post on Instagram but it's mostly snarky, funny stuff so no real fiber content. If the snark is appealing then you can find me under oakknobmakes on Insta. instagram.com/oakknobmakes/ I do not currently have an active FB group or Twitter account. I am exploring Threads under a private account to see if I want to link my main Oak Knob Makes account to a Threads account as well. I haven't posted in that long and I've been contemplating starting to make videos again. I am having bariatric surgery next month so going to get that in the rear view mirror and then think about what I can realistically take on again. What sort of content do you enjoy most? Honestly, part of why I stopped was because the videos that people most interacted with were the unboxing videos and neither my craft room nor my wallet could sustain that anymore. I'm a slow crafter so I don't have finished objects to share all the time, etc. All that said, I appreciate that you are here, watching and took the time to let me know that you enjoy. Have a superb day!
Well it calls for 3.5-4 mm hooks so I will likely go 4mm because I prefer a more open stitch and shawls with great drape. P.S. The FB link is fixed now in case you want to join in that way.
Absolutely! I think you could use about any yarn you'd like with this pattern with the exception of bulky yarn which would make a stiff fabric. I've used fingering weight and I've used 4 weight. I'd probably stay in that range and so long as you know a larger yarn will create a larger result, you will be good!

What size hook are you going to be using with the Twister yarn?

I do not have any gradient yarn. Can I use any 4 ply yarn or mandela?

I'm not finding you on fb
Yes, the link wasn't working, ugh! It's fixed now so it should link you right to the group. So sorry about that!
